Dynamic Regulation of Hydrogen Bonding Networks and Solvation Structures for Synergistic Solar‑Thermal Desalination of Seawater and Catalytic Degradation of organic Pollutants

Although solar steam generation strategy is efficient in desalinating seawater,it is still challenging to achieve continuous solar-thermal desalination of seawater and catalytic degradation of organic ***,dynamic regulations of hydrogen bonding networks and solvation structures are realized by designing an asymmetric bilayer membrane consisting of a bacterial cellulose/carbon nanotube/Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)nanorod top layer and a bacterial cellulose/Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)nanorod(BCH)bottom ***,the hydrogen bonding networks inside the membrane can be tuned by the rich surface–OH groups of the bacterial cellulose and Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)as well as the ions and radicals in situ generated during the catalysis ***,both SO_(4)^(2−)and HSO_(5)−can regulate the solvation structure of Na^(+)and be adsorbed more preferentially on the evaporation surface than Cl^(−),thus hindering the de-solvation of the solvated Na^(+)and subsequent nucleation/growth of ***,the heat generated by the solar-thermal energy conversion can accelerate the reaction kinetics and enhance the catalytic degradation *** work provides a flow-bed water purification system with an asymmetric solar-thermal and catalytic membrane for synergistic solar thermal desalination of seawater/brine and catalytic degradation of organic pollutants.

Porous organic cages(POCs)with permanent porosity and excellent host–guest property hold great potentials in regulating ion transport behavior,yet their feasibility as solid-state electrolytes has never been testified in a practical ***,we design and fabricate a quasi-solid-state electrolyte(QSSE)based on a POC to enable the stable operation of Li-metal batteries(LMBs).Benefiting from the ordered channels and cavity-induced anion-trapping effect of POC,the resulting POC-based QSSE exhibits a high Li+transference number of 0.67 and a high ionic conductivity of 1.25×10^(−4) S cm^(−1) with a low activation energy of 0.17 *** allow for homogeneous Li deposition and highly reversible Li plating/stripping for over 2000 *** a proof of concept,the LMB assembled with POC-based QSSE demonstrates extremely stable cycling performance with 85%capacity retention after 1000 ***,our work demonstrates the practical applicability of POC as SSEs for LMBs and could be extended to other energy-storage systems,such as Na and K batteries.

organic field-effect transistors(OFETs) are attracting more and more attention due to their potential applications in low-cost, large-area and flexible electronic products. organic semiconductors(OSCs) are the key components of OFETs and basically determine the device performance. The past five years have witnessed great progress of OSCs. OSCs used for OFETs have made rapid progress, with field-effect mobility much larger than that of amorphous silicon(0.5?1.0 cm2/(V s)) and of up to 10 cm2/(V s) or even higher. In this review, we demonstrate the latest progress of OSCs for OFETs, where more than 50 representative OSCs are highlighted and analyzed to give some valuable insights for this important but challenging field.

Extraction of Tungsten and Molybdenum by Various organic Compounds as Extractants

Seventy organic compounds including various organophosphorus esters, amines and oxygen-based ligands were investigated as extractants. The experiment results show that amines are excellent extractants for W and Mo. Their sequence of extraction ability for W is as follows: quarternary amine > tertiary amine > secondary amine > primary amine. Acidic organophosphorus extractants do not extract W, but can extract Mo with high extraction ability from the acidic solution. These extractants could provide a potential process for separating W from Mo.

Two-dimensional(2D) materials have been demonstrated to exhibit unique properties originating from its 2D nature. In recent years, the construction of 2D materials has become a topic of great interest. This article summarizes the recent advance of 2D supramolecular organic frameworks(SOFs) which are homogeneously constructed in solution phase through self-assembly of rationally designed building blocks. These 2D SOFs are soluble and still maintain stable network structures in solutions, which exhibit uniqueness not only in structures but also in properties. In this concise review, the SOFs-related background is briefly introduced firstly, followed by outlining the research progress of soluble 2D SOFs from the perspective of monomer design, assembly, and structural *** article ends with a personal outlook on the future development of this new class of supramolecular polymers.

Triphenyl Phosphine Oxide and Carbazole-based Polymer Host Materials for Green Phosphorescent organic Light-emitting Diodes

Four novel polymers, poly（3,6-9-decyl-carbazole-alt-1,3-benzene）（PB13CZ）, poly（3,6-9-decyl-carbazole-alt- bis（4-phenyl）（phenyl） phosphine oxide）（PTPPO38CZ）, poly（3,6-9-decyl-carbazole-alt-2,4-phenyl（diphenyl） phosphine oxide）（PTPPO13CZ） and poly（3,6-9-decyl-carbazole-alt-bis（3-phenyl）（phenyl） phosphine oxide）（PTTPO27CZ） were synthesized, and their thermal, photophysical properties and device applications were further investigated to correlate the chemical structures with the photoelectric performance of bipolar host materials for phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes. All of them show high thermal stability as revealed by their high glass transition temperatures and thermal decomposition temperatures at 5% weight loss. These polymers have wide band gaps and relatively high triplet energy levels. As a result, the spin coating method was used to prepare the green phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes with polymers PTPPO38CZ, PTPPO13CZ and PTTPO27CZ as the typical host materials. The green device of polymer PTPPO38CZ as host material shows electroluminescent performance with maximum current efficiency of 2.16 cd.A-1, maximum external quantum efficiency of 0.7%, maximum brightness of 1475 cd.m-2 and reduced efficiency roll-off of 7.14% at 600 cd.m-2, which are much better than those of the same devices hosted by polymers PTTPO27CZ and PTPPO13CZ.

Herein, the de novo synthesis of atropisomeric benzofurans through the Cu/spirocyclic-pyrrolidine-oxazoline(SPDO) complex catalyze asymmetric formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition between quinones and ynamides is explored, producing a range of structurally diverse axially chiral benzofurans in satisfactory yields with good to excellent enantioselectivities. Furthermore, density functional theory calculations were applied to explain the possible reaction mechanism.

Heavy atom effects and n-π*transitions have been frequently reported to enhance room-temperature organic phosphorescence efficiency but lead to shortage of phosphorescence *** these reported studies,we conceive the incorporation of advanced charge transfer(CT)technology to boost room-temperature organic afterglow efficiency and simultaneously maintain afterglow *** we design difluoroboronβ-diketonate(BF2bdk)CT compounds with moderate singlet-triplet splitting energy(ΔEST)of around 0.4 e V,and relatively large spin-orbit coupling matrix elements(SOCME(S_(1)-T_(1)),1–10 cm^(-1))to achieve efficient intersystem crossing(ISC)and moderate rates of reverse intersystem crossing(kRISC,1–10 s^(-1)).The advanced CT technology,which includes multiple electron-donating groups and orthogonal donor-acceptor arrangement,have been found to narrowΔESTand enhance both ISC and ***,the organic matrices suppress nonradiative decay of BF2bdk’s T1states by their rigid ***,thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)-type organic afterglow materials can be achieved with afterglow efficiency up to 83.0%,long lifetimes of 433 ms,excellent processablility,as well as advanced anti-counterfeiting and information ***,with the aid of up-conversion materials and through radiative energy transfer,TADF-type afterglow materials with aqueous dispersity and near-infrared light-excitable property have been achieved,which paves the way for biomedical applications.

Carboxylate-based metal–organic frameworks(CMOFs)have received considerable attentions for their high stability,catalytic activity,and ***,synthesis of CMOFs requires high temperature,pressure,and long reaction ***,we explored the activity of 2-methylimidazole(2-MIM)for ultrafast synthesis of CMOF nanostructures(CMOFNs),in aqueous medium at room temperature and reaction time of 10 *** CMOFNs have been synthesized by using Al3+,Cr3+,Cu2+,Fe3+,In3+,or Cd2+salt and1,4-bezenedicarboxylic acid,or 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic *** this technique,the CMOFs with space time yield 181–501 kgcrystal sizes of ca.200–700 nm was obtained.
