Dynamic response and failure process of horizontal-layered fractured structure rock slope under strong earthquake

Rock slope with horizontal-layered fractured structure(HLFS)has high stability in its natural state.However,a strong earthquake can induce rock fissure expansion,ultimately leading to slope failure.In this study,the dynamic response,failure mode,and spectral characteristics of rock slope with HLFS under strong earthquake conditions were investigated based on the large-scale shaking table model test.On this basis,multiple sets of numerical calculation models were further established by UDEC discrete element program.Five influencing factors were considered in the parametric study of numerical simulations,including slope height,slope angle,bedding-plane spacing and secondary joint spacing as well as bedrock dip angle.The results showed that the failure process of rock slope with HLFS under earthquake action is mainly divided into four phases,i.e.,the tensile crack of the slope shoulder joints and shear dislocation at the top bedding plane,the extension of vertical joint cracks and increase of shear displacement,the formation of step-through sliding surfaces and the instability,and finally collapse of fractured rock mass.The acceleration response of slopes exhibits elevation amplification effect and surface effect.Numerical simulations indicate that the seismic stability of slopes with HLFS exhibits a negative correlation with slope height and angle,but a positive correlation with bedding-plane spacing,joint spacing,and bedrock dip angle.The results of this study can provide a reference for seismic stability evaluation of weathered rock slopes.

Development and engineering application of integrated safety monitoring systems for china’s high-speed trains

With the improvement of the running speed of china’s high-speed trains,the demands for running status monitoring and security assurance of High-speed Electric Multiple Units(EMU)have increased significantly.However,the current safety monitoring systems are independent,which is not conducive to the comprehensive monitoring and information sharing of the whole vehicle.The temperature monitoring of running gear is insensitive to early failures.How to develop a train operation safety monitoring system with strong engineering implementation and high integration is a key problem to be solved.For the monitoring of running stationarity,frame stability and running gear health of china’s high-speed trains,an integrated safety monitoring system framework is designed,and the logic and algorithm for the diagnosis of stationarity,stability and health states of rotating parts are constructed.Monitoring software which fused the temperature,high and low frequency vibration data is developed,and the design and installation of the vibration temperature composite sensors are completed.The research results have realized the integration and comprehensive processing of multiple monitoring systems,completed the improvement from single component and vehicle-level safety monitoring to multi-system,train-level and interactive monitoring.In the process of real vehicle application,the developed monitoring system acquires the vehicle operation status data accurately and in real time.The constructed diagnosis algorithm and logic evaluates the vehicle operation status accurately and in a timely manner,and avoids the progression from fault to accident.The research results show that the integrated safety monitoring system can provide technical support for train operation safety.

Transfer relation between subgrade frost heave and slab track deformation and vehicle dynamic response in seasonally frozen ground

Subgrade frost heave in seasonally frozen ground can greatly influence the safety and smooth running of high-speed trains and the service performance of track structures.In this study,we used a static model to:(1)investigate track-subgrade frost heave and develop a dynamic model of vehicle-track-subgrade frost heave;(2)explore the transfer relation between subgrade frost heave and track structure deformation;(3)examine the characteristics of interlayer debonding;(4)study the influence of subgrade frost heave on the dynamic response of vehicles in high-speed railways in seasonally frozen regions.A Fourier series was used to fit the frost heave waveform and simulate the behavior of subgrade uneven frost heave using data collected on-site.The results show:(i)The position of frost heave significantly affects the transfer of deformation to a slab track.The largest deformation of the track slab,with the amplitude transfer ratio reaching 20%,was recorded when the frost heave occurred near the joint of the base plate.(ii)At the same frost heave amplitude,long-wave frost heave causes smaller deformation and debonding of the track structure than short-wave frost heave.In the wavelength range of 10-30 m,the main frequency of the acceleration spectral density was concentrated between 3.5 and 3.7 Hz,with larger frost heave wavelengths producing smaller superposition on the vertical acceleration of the vehicle.(ii)The maximum wheel-rail force occurs when the front bogie passes the frost heave peak,with greater frost heave amplitudes producing greater wheel-rail force.From these results,we conclude there is a clear need to control the frost heave deformation of the track to reduce the dynamic response of the vehicle and in turn improve train operatSubgrade frost heave in seasonally frozen ground can greatly influence the safety and smooth running of high-speed trains and the service performance of track structures.In this study,we used a static model to:(1)investigate track`-subgrade frost heave and develop a dynamic model of v

Optimal Location and Sizing ofMulti-Resource Distributed Generator Based onMulti-Objective Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm

Distribution generation(DG)technology based on a variety of renewable energy technologies has developed rapidly.A large number of multi-type DG are connected to the distribution network(DN),resulting in a decline in the stability of DN operation.It is urgent to find a method that can effectively connect multi-energy DG to DN.photovoltaic(PV),wind power generation(WPG),fuel cell(FC),and micro gas turbine(MGT)are considered in this paper.A multi-objective optimization model was established based on the life cycle cost(LCC)of DG,voltage quality,voltage fluctuation,system network loss,power deviation of the tie-line,DG pollution emission index,and meteorological index weight of DN.Multi-objective artificial bee colony algorithm(MOABC)was used to determine the optimal location and capacity of the four kinds of DG access DN,and compared with the other three heuristic algorithms.Simulation tests based on IEEE 33 test node and IEEE 69 test node show that in IEEE 33 test node,the total voltage deviation,voltage fluctuation,and system network loss of DN decreased by 49.67%,7.47%and 48.12%,respectively,compared with that without DG configuration.In the IEEE 69 test node,the total voltage deviation,voltage fluctuation and system network loss of DN in the MOABC configuration scheme decreased by 54.98%,35.93%and 75.17%,respectively,compared with that without DG configuration,indicating that MOABC can reasonably plan the capacity and location of DG.Achieve the maximum trade-off between DG economy and DN operation stability.

Damaged structures on coral islands have been spalling and cracking due to the dual corrosion of tides and waves.To ensure easy access to aggregate materials,magnesium potassium phosphate cement(MKPC)and coral sand(CS)are mixed to repair damaged structures on coral islands.However,CS is significantly different from land-sourced sand in mineral composition,particle morphology,and strength.This has a substantial impact on the hydration characteristics and macroscopic properties of MKPC mortar.Therefore,in this study we investigated the compressive strength,interfacial mechanical properties,and corrosion resistance of MKPC CS mortar.Changes in the morphology,microstructure,and relative contents of hydration products were revealed by scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive spectrometer(SEM-EDS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The results indicated that the compressive strength increased linearly with the interfacial micro-hardness,and then stabilized after long-term immersion in pure water and Na2SO4 solution,showing excellent corrosion resistance.Compared with MKPC river sand(RS)mortar,the hydration products of CS mortar were an intermediate product 6KPO2·8H2O with a relative content of 3.9%at 1 h and 4.1%at 12 h.The hydration product MgKPO_(4)·6H_(2)O increased rapidly after 7-d curing,with an increased growth rate of 1100%.Our results showed that CS promoted the nucleation and formation of hydration products of MKPC,resulting in better crystallinity,tighter overlapping,and a denser interfacial transition zone.The results of this study provide technical support for applying MKPC mortar as a rapid repair material for damaged structures on coral islands.

Data and Model Driven Task Offloading Strategy in the Dynamic Mobile Edge Computing System

Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)provides communication and computational capabilities for the industrial Internet,meeting the demands of latency-sensitive tasks.Nevertheless,traditional model-driven task offloading strategies face challenges in adapting to situations with unknown network communication status and computational capabilities.This limitation becomes notably significant in complex industrial networks of high-speed railway.Motivated by these considerations,a data and model-driven task offloading problem is proposed in this paper.A redundant communication network is designed to adapt to anomalous channel states when tasks are offloaded to edge servers.The link switching mechanism is executed by the train according to the attributes of the completed task.The task offloading optimization problem is formulated by introducing data-driven prediction of communication states into the traditional model.Furthermore,the optimal strategy is achieved by employing the informer-based prediction algorithm and the quantum particle swarm optimization method,which effectively tackle real-time optimization problems due to their low time complexity.The simulations illustrate that the data and model-driven task offloading strategy can predict the communication state in advance,thus reducing the cost of the system and improving its robustness.

Efficient removal of tetracycline hydrochloride through novel Fe/BiOBr/Bi_(2)WO_(6) photocatalyst prepared by dual-strategy under visible-light irradiation

It is important to investigate whether combining two modification strategies has a synergistic effect on the activity of photocatalysts.In this manuscript,Fe-doped BiOBr/Bi_(2)WO_(6) heterojunctions were synthesized by a one-pot solvothermal method,and excellent photocatalytic performance was obtained for the degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride(TCH)in water without the addition of surfactant.Combining experiments and characterization,the synergistic effect between Fe ion doping and the BiOBr/Bi_(2)WO_(6) heterojunction was elucidated.The Fe/BiOBr/Bi_(2)WO_(6) composite photocatalyst had a beneficial void structure,enhanced visible light response,and could inhibit the recombination of photogenerated support well,which improved the photocatalytic activity.The presented experiments demonstrate that Fe/BiOBr/Bi_(2)WO_(6) removes 97% of TCH from aqueous solution,while pure BiOBr and Bi_(2)WO_(6) only remove 56% and 65% of TCH,respectively.Finally,the separation and transfer mechanisms of photoexcited carriers were determined in conjunction with the experimental results.This study provides a new direction for the design of efficient photocatalysts through the use of a dual co-modification strategy.

Influence of span-to-depth ratio on dynamic response of vehicle-turnoutbridge system in high-speed railway

For high-speed railways,the smoothness of the railway line significantly affects the operational speed of trains.When the train passes through the turnout on a long-span bridge,the wheel-rail impacts caused by the turnout structure irregularities,and the instability arising from the bridge's flexural deformation lead to a strong coupling effect in the vehicle-turnout-bridge system.This significantly affects both ride comfort and operational safety.For addressing this issue,the present study considered a long-span continuous rigid-frame bridge as an example and established a train-turnout-bridge coupled dynamic model of high-speed railway.Utilizing a selfdeveloped dynamic simulation program,the study analysed the dynamic response characteristics when the train passes through the turnouts on the bridge.It also investigated the influence of different span-to-depth ratios of the bridge on the vehicle dynamic response when the train passes through the main line and branch line of turnouts and then proposed a span-to-depth ratio limit value for a long-span continuous rigid-frame bridge.The research findings suggest that the changes in the span-to-depth ratio have a relatively minor impact on the train’s operational performance but significantly affect the dynamic characteristics of the bridge structure.Based on the findings and a comprehensive assessment of safety indicators,it is advisable to establish a span-to-depth ratio limit of 1/4500 for a long-span continuous rigid-frame bridge.
