The Effect of Dietary Nutrient Density on Growth Performance, Physiological Parameters, and Small Intestinal Type IIb Sodium Phosphate co.transporter Expression in Broilers

A 3 × 4 factorial experiment was co.- ducted to determine the effect of dietary nutrient den- sity on growth performance, physiological parame- ters, and small intestinal epithelial phosphate trans- porter expression in broiler chicks fed different dietary nutrient density （DND） and non-phytate phosphorus （NPP） levels. Dietary energy densities used had ME values of 2,850, 2,950, and 3,050 kcal/kg of diet and the NPP levels were 0.35%, 0.40%, 0.45%, and 0.50% within each ME value. Crude protein and essential amino acids levels were maintained propor- tionally to dietary ME levels. Each of the twelve diets was fed to five pens of seven male broiler chicks from 1 to 21 days of age. Broiler growth performance, ser- um physiological parameters, 1-hydroxylase activity in the kidney, type-IIb sodium phosphate co.trans- porter （NaPi-IIb）, and vitamin D receptor （VDR） expression levels in the duodenal muco.a were deter- mined. Our results showed that an increase in dietary nutrient density increased body weight and improved feed co.version. Additionally, serum parathyroid hormone co.centration, 1-a-hydroxylase activity in the kidney, NaPi-IIb mRNA expression and VDR protein expression in the duodenal muco.a increased as DND increased. Feed intake and body weight in- creased as NPP levels increased. Serum parathyroid hormone, VDR and NaPi-IIb gene expression also in- creased as the level of NPP in the diet increased at the medium range level. The results of this study suggest that high DND can increase small intestinal type IIb sodium dependent phosphate co.transporter mRNA expression by up-regulating parathyroid hormone and activation of 1-ot-hydroxylase activity which might be in co.sistent with high growth rate of broilers. Small intestinal NaPi-IIb mRNA expression increases linear- ly only within the range of dietary NPP dosage levels close to the requirement reco.mended in the broilers feeding standards.

A field experiment was carried out to examine the soil respiration rate in Abies fabri forests in Gongga Mountain National Nature Reserve using LI-6400-09 portable soil respiration *** results showed that the soil respiration rate and soil temperature of mature and middle-aged *** forests were different in each *** soil co. emission rates of the two stands had obvious seasonal variation characteristics,which were arranged: summer > autumn > spring > winter;the monthly average soil co. emission rate of the mature aged forest ranged from 0.82 to 5.88 μmol/(s·m^2),with the co.fficient of seasonal variation of 50.6%;and the average monthly soil respiration rate of middle-aged forest was in the range of 0.52-3.52 μmol/(s·m^2),with the co.fficient of seasonal variation of 48.5%.The seasonal variation of soil co. emission rate was positively co.related with the 5 cm soil *** the Q10 values of the soil co. emission rates in the mature and middle-aged *** forests were 3.2 and 2.6,respectively,and the sensitivity index of co. emission to temperature in the mature *** forest was higher than that in the middle-aged forest.

[Objectives]The study was co.ducted to evaluate the effects of diet with"Lianhuang"additive of Chinese herbal medicine(LACHM)on growth performance and metabolic rates of dietary nutrients in Donglan black chickens(DBCs).[Methods]80 DBCs aged 1 d were blocked into 4 groups randomly and assigned to 6 replicates in each group with 20 chicks in each *** A as co.trol group fed basal *** B,C and D as treatment groups co.sumed the basal diet added with 0.25%,0.50%and 1.00%of LACHM,respectively during the test period of 70 *** the end of feeding test,24 DBCs with similar body weight from each group were chosen out and used for a metabolism test to determine the metabolic rates of dietary nutrients from each *** metabolism test was co.ducted as the same design as the feeding test and the DBCs from each group were fed the same diet as previous test.[Results]The ADG of chickens in the test increased by 5.00%-9.15%(Pco.pared with group A,the ADG of group C in the stages of 36-49,1-49 and 1-70 d and the IABW in the end of 70 d increased by 5.90%,2.66%,2.68%and 2.57%(P>0.05),*** ADFI in the stage of 36-49 d from group A was 6.04%more than that from group B(P0.05).The F/G in the stages of 22-35 and 1-70 d from group B was 6.32%and 3.41%lower than those from group A(P<0.05),respectively,and even 11.43%and 7.31%lower in the stages of 36-49 and 1-49 d from group B than those from group A(P<0.01),*** F/G of group C in the stage of 36-49 d was also 10.15%lower than that of group A(P<0.05),and still 5.29%lower than that from group A in 1-

[Objectives]This study was co.ducted to investigate the co.pounding of three herbicides:clopyralid,picloram and benazolin,so as to improve the effectiveness of herbicides.[Methods]With Lapsana apogonoides *** the target and clopyralid,picloram and benazolin as the test agents,seven gradient co.centrations were set up to determine the joint toxicity of the three agents.[Results]When the co.pounding ratio of picloram,clopyralid and benazolin was 2∶1∶6,the maximum co.toxicity co.fficient was 290.0.[co.clusions]The co.pounding of picloram,clopyralid and benazolin has a significant synergistic effect on ***,which reduces production co.ts and environmental pressure,providing technical support for the effective co.trol of broad-leaved weeds such as ***.

Objective： Heat stress （HS） is an important environmental stressor that adversely influences livestock during the summer. The aim of this study was to investigate whether magnolol protects against HS-induced intestinal epithelial cell injury. Materials and methods： An intestinal epithelial cell line （IEC-6） was subjected to HS at 42℃, with and without magnolol pretreatment. Cell injury was detected by monitoring lactate dehydrogenase （LDH） release. MTS （3-（4,5-dimethyithiazol-2-yl）-5-（3-carboxymethoxyphenyl）-2-（4-sulfophenyl）-2H-tetrazolium） assay was used to as- sess cell proliferation and viability, including identifying effective co.centrations of magnolol. Flow cytometry co.firmed Gl-phase cell-cycle arrest and its alleviation by magnolol. Active DNA synthesis was measured by inco.poration of nucleic acid 5-ethynyl-2＇-deoxyuridine （EdU）. Gl-phase cell-cycle-related gene expression was assessed by real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR） and levels of Gl-phase-related proteins by Western blotting Results： HS induced IEC-6 cell injury and decreased cell viability, as demonstrated by data from LDH and MTS assays respectively. Based on a number of criteria, IEC-6 cells subjected to HS were arrested in the G1 phase Of the cell cycle. Magnolol pretreatment decreased HS-induced cell injury through relief of this cell-cycle arrest. co.clusions： Magnolol pretreatment attenuates HS-induced injury in IEC-6 cells. Magnolol is potentially promising as a protective strategy for HS in livestock.
