Stability analysis of loose accumulation slopes under rainfall:case study of a high‑speed railway in Southwest China

The high and steep slopes along a high-speed railway in the mountainous area of Southwest China are mostly co.posed of loose accumulations of debris with large internal pores and poor stability,which can easily induce adverse geological disasters under rainfall *** ensure the smooth construction of the high-speed railway and the subsequent safe operation,it is necessary to master the stability evolution process of the loose accumulation slope under *** article simulates rainfall using the finite element analysis software’s hydromechanical co.pling *** slope stability under various rainfall situations is calculated and analysed based on the strength reduction *** validate the simulation results,a field monitoring system is established to study the deformation characteristics of the slope under *** results show that rainfall duration is the key factor affecting slope *** a co.stant amount of rainfall,the stability of the slope decreases with increasing duration of ***,when the amount and duration of rainfall are co.stant,co.tinuous rainfall has a greater impact on slope stability than intermittent *** setting of the field retaining structures has a significant role in improving slope *** field monitoring data show that the slope is in the initial deformation stage and has good stability,which verifies the rationality of the numerical simulation *** research results can provide some references for understanding the influence of rainfall on the stability of loose accumulation slopes along high-speed railways and establishing a monitoring system.

In the existing formation model,vehicles in the same lane or adjacent lane are regarded as the structure,and the driving behavior of vehicles is studied from the perspectives of safety,speed co.sistency,and stability,and the speed co.trol model is proposed from the perspective of vehicles themselves,to obtain a stable fleet with the same distance and ***,in this process,the initial co.dition of the vehicle,the traffic flow environment,and the efficiency of the fleet formation are less ***,based on summarizing the existing fleet building model,this paper puts forward the rapid construction model and algorithm of a co.perative adaptive cruise co.trol platoon *** of the important goals of forming a team is to enter the team with the smoothest trajectory in the shortest ***,this chapter studies the trajectory optimization of the vehicle formation process from the perspective of vehicle dynamics.

In this article,lane change models for mixed traffic flow under co.perative adaptive cruise co.trol(CACC)platoon formation are *** analysis begins by examining the impact of lane changes on traffic flow *** influences of various factors such as lane change locations,timing,and the current traffic state on stability are *** this analysis,it is assumed that the lane change location and the entry position in the adjacent lane have already been selected,without co.sidering the specific intention behind the lane *** speeds of the involved vehicles are adjusted based on an existing lane change model,and various co.ditions are analyzed for traffic flow disturbances,including duration,shock amplitude,and driving *** calculations are provided to illustrate these ***,traffic flow stability is factored into the lane change decision-making *** inco.porating disturbances to the fleet into the lane change inco.e model,both a lane change intention model and a lane change execution model are *** models are then co.pared with a model that does not acco.nt for stability,leading to the co.responding co.clusions.

Pitting co.rosion is harmful during bridge construction,which will lead to uneven roughness of steel surfaces and reduce the thickness of ***,the effect of pitting co.rosion on the mechanical properties of co.d-formed thin-walled steel stub co.umns is studied,and the empirical formulas are established through regression fitting to predict the ultimate load of web and flange under pitting *** detail,the failure modes and load-displacement curves of specimens with different locations,area ratios,and depths are obtained through a large number of non-linear finite element *** for the specimens with pitting co.rosion on the web,all the specimens are subject to local buckling failure,and the failure mode will not change with pitting co.rosion,but the failure location will change with pitting co.rosion location;the size,location,and area ratio of pitting co.rosion have little influence on the ultimate load of co.d-formed thin-walled steel short co.umns,but the loss rate of pitting co.rosion section area has a greater impact on the ultimate bearing *** for the specimen with flange pitting co.rosion,the location and area ratio of pitting co.rosion have less influence on the ultimate load of co.d-formed thin-walled steel short co.umns,and the section area loss rate has greater influence on the ultimate bearing capacity;the impact of web pitting co.rosion on the ultimate load is greater than that of flange pitting co.rosion under the same co.dition of pitting co.rosion section *** prediction formulas of limit load which are suitable for pitting co.rosion of web and flange are established,which can provide a reference for performance evaluation of co.roded co.d-formed thin-walled steel.

Experimental investigation on the anisotropy of friction property for dry and water-saturated rock

Friction properties of rock are closely co.nected with the *** anisotropy of rock friction can provide a valuable assessment for geotechnical and geological *** this study,the rotary friction tests were co.ducted to analyze the water effect on the friction property and the friction anisotropy of the four types of *** drilling response model(DD-model)was employed to characterize the rotary friction behavior of the *** parameters of this model include the three types of friction parameters:1/ς,μ,and f,where 1/ςandμare co.stant,and f is a variable.A quantitative method is proposed for assessing the anisotropy of rock *** results of the rotary friction tests indicate that the relation between torque force and thrust force co.forms to the *** changes of two friction co.stants 1/ςandμfrom dry state to water-saturated state suggest that the water effect on the friction strength of the rocks exhibits significant *** friction strength determined by the friction variable f increases first,then decreases,and finally stabilizes with the increasing of *** is an anisotropy index calculated by the proposed *** percentage difference of the average value of AIf between water-saturated and dry states shows the degree of the water effect on the friction anisotropy of the rocks,mudstone(MU)>granite(GR)>fine sandstone(FS)>argillaceous siltstone(AS).The quantitative model is hopefully co.structed for characterizing the relation between the anisotropic friction strength of rock and the moisture state in future.

Accurate approaches for estimating flow resistance in large alluvial rivers are fundamental for simulating discharge,sediment transport,and flood ***,methods for estimating riverbed resistance and additional resistance in the channel-bar landscapes remain poorly *** this study,we used in situ river bathymetry,sediment,and hydraulic data from the Shashi Reach in the Yangtze River to develop a semi-empirical approach for calculating flow *** method quantitatively separates flow resistance into riverbed resistance and additional resistance and shows high accuracy in terms of deviation ratio(~20%),root-mean-square error(~0.008),and geometric standard deviation(~3).Additional resistance plays a dominant role under low-flow co.ditions but a seco.dary role under high flows,primarily due to the reduction in momentum exchange in channel-bar regions as discharge *** resistance first decreases and then increases,which might be attributed to bedform changes in the lower and transitional flow regimes as flow velocity ***,our findings further the understanding of dynamic changes in flow resistance in the channel-bar landscapes of large river systems and have important implications for riverine eco.ogy and flood management.

In the construction of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link,a temporary anchorage system,distributed uniformly along the pipe wall,has been *** assess the safety and reliability of this system,a co.bined method utilizing numerical analysis and model experiments was applied to study the safety of the temporary anchorage system and the reliability of the tension ***,an overall model of the caisson segment based on GINA rebound force was established to analyze the stress state of the entire ***,a co.prehensive numerical analysis and model experiment verification were co.ducted for the single tensioning system,revealing its failure mode and safety *** results indicate that the tension rod systems are uniformly stressed at an average of 444 k N during underwater jointing,with a safety factor of *** this point,the maximum von Mises stresses appearing at the front plate co.ners and the lower edge of the U-groove,with stress values of 181.8 MPa and 172.4 MPa,and safety factors of 1.54 and 1.71,*** the tension rod force reaches 940 k N,the tensioning system reaches its bearing limit,with initial yielding occurring at the front plate *** experiments were co.ducted to verify the theoretical analysis results,under a test load of 444 k N,the stresses at the front plate co.ners and the lower edge of the U-groove were 159.6 and 195.9 MPa,*** the test load increased to 940 k N,these stresses reached 390 and 389 MPa,exhibiting good agreement with the numerical *** the uncertainty of loads and materials,a reliability analysis of the tension rods was co.ducted,yielding a reliability index of 4.34,meeting the seco.dary safety *** on the co.prehensive analysis,it can be co.cluded that the temporary anchorage system in the caisson segments of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link exhibits excellent safety margins.
