Collective behaviors efficiently impart benefits to a diversity of species ranging from bacteria to *** larvae tend to cluster and form coordinated digging groups under crowded conditions,yet understanding the rules governing this behavior is in its *** primarily took advantage of the Drosophila model to investigate cooperative foraging ***,we report that Drosophila-related species and the black soldier fly have evolved a conserved strategy of cluster digging in food ***,we investigated relative factors,including larval stage,population density,and food stiffness and quality,that affect the cluster digging ***,oxygen supply through the posterior breathing spiracles is necessary for the organization of digging *** importantly,we theoretically devise a mathematical model to accurately calculate how the cluster digging behavior expands food resources by diving depth,cross-section area,and food *** found that cluster digging behavior approximately increases 2.2 fold depth,1.7-fold cross-section area,and 1.9 fold volume than control groups,*** of food sources significantly facilitates survival,larval development,and reproductive success of Drosophila challenged with competition for limited food resources,thereby conferring trophic benefits to fitness in ***,our findings highlight that the cluster digging behavior is a pivotal behavior for their adaptation to food scarcity,advancing a better understanding of how this cooperative behavior confers fitness benefits in the animal kingdom.

Twenty-four hour (circadian) rhythmicity is an important component of biological variability associated with studies relating to biomarkers of aging. Chronobiological testing techniques must be utilized because (1) many variables that are related to the modulation of metabolic output vary dramatically at different times of the day; (2) various experimental variable and treatment groups must be synchronized with environmental cues that control circadian rhythms; and (3) multiple circadian variables may interact together to modulate the rate of aging. The rhythm for physiological factors such as whole animal metabolic output, body temperature, heart rate, urine flow, potassium, etc. were found to be dissociated or altered by the senescence process; behavioral variables such as spontaneous activity, wheel running, feeding and drinking, verbal performance, as well as sleep-wakefulness rhythms, seem to be accurate predictors of biological age. Circadian rhythms for a variety of enzymes of intermediary metabolism which are directly associated with energy metabolism have been well documented. These well-defined rhythms of enzyme activity have also been shown to degenerate with aging. Rhythms tend to lose amplitude as activity falls with age and as a general loss of regulation (especially time of day where maximal activity might be found) of activity across the 24-h span occurs. As with behavioral variables, changes in enzyme rhythms appear to accurately predict aging. Generally speaking, the loss of temporal organization with age, characterized by decreased circadian amplitude, loose internal synchronization, and poor response to external environmental time queues, is associated with poor health states and decreased longevity. Objective:To investigate the effect of Shenqi Compound Formula (SCF) on peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) in white adipose tissue of rats with macrovascular lesion in early stage of diabetes. Methods: Corresponding treatment was given to rats in model group, Ramipril group, normal control group, low dosage SCF group and high dosage SCF group respectively for 32 days. The expressions of PPARγ and adiponectin Messenger RNA (mRNA) were detected by real-time reverse transcriptase poly-merase chain reaction. Results: The expressions of PPARγ and adiponectin mRNA increased significantly in both low and high dosage SCF groups as compared with the model group, and a positive linear correlation was found between the expressions of PPARγ and adiponectin mRNA. Conclusions: SCF can prevent macrovascular lesion in early stage of diabetes, which is possibly related with up-regulating expressions of PPARγ and activating PPARγ.

Objective To assess the reliability and validity of a new Chinese version of the Addiction Severity Index （ASI-C） in drug users in the community. Methods Three hundred and eighty-one drug users in the community in chengdu, Sichuan province were recruited. They were interviewed with a questionnaire consisting of the ASI-C revised on the basis of the previous Chinese version and 38 were interviewed for the second time at an interval of 7 days to evaluate test-retest reliability. Results Cronbach＇s c~ coefficients for the internal consistency of the scale varied from 0.49 to 0.86. Test-retest correlation coefficients ranged from 0.50 to 0.93. Criterion validity was found acceptable, as compared with the Symptom Checklist 90 （SCL-90）. Conclusion The ASI-C presented acceptable reliability and validity in a sample of drug users in the community.

The current regulatory status in the USA, European Union (EU), Japan, and China, associated with the clinical application of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine is presented. It is found that similar regulatory framework has been constructed in the USA and EU, in which risk-based regulatory strategy is used to determine which regulatory mode is more desirable between medical technique and medical product. Also, it is suggested that two-tier regulatory framework of medical products be constructed, with the first level built on existing and newly introduced regulatory provisions and the second technical level encompassing all the technical requirements. In China, the demarcation line between medical technique mode and medical product mode is not made clear and coherent and flexible regulatory framework has not been intentionally designed. If the recommendations concerning the desirability of regulatory framework will be adopted in China, it means the present application of medical technique mode should be reconsidered and adjusted based on the risk analysis. Furthermore, the construction of two-tier regulatory framework which is tailored to meet the demands of development of medical products of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine still remains a challenge.

This study investigated the microbial contamination of ice cream in China.A total of 2887 ice cream samples were collected from different regions of *** by the aerobic plate count(APC),coliforms,and three foodborne pathogens,Listeria monocytogenes(***),Staphylococcus aureus(***),and Salmonella spp.,was detected in the *** isolates were further analyzed for antibiotic susceptibility and multi-locus sequence typing(MLST).The results showed that APC was more than 10^(5) colony forming units(CFU)/g in 6.10%(176/2887)and coliform was more than 10^(2) CFU/g in 15.69%(453/2887)of all *** positive rates of ***,***,and Salmonella *** 0.66%,0.62%,and 0.10%,*** these,*** contamination was more than 102 CFU/g in two samples,and *** in the positive sample was in the range of 0.3-240 most probable number(MPN)/*** a median of 4.3 MPN/*** hygienic status of the packaged samples was much better than that of the bulk samples(P0.05).For 18 *** strains isolated from ice cream,the resistance rate of nine antibiotics was 5.56%(1/18).By MLST,the *** strains were classified into nine sequence types(STs),of which ST8 was the most common(six isolates).These results indicate that a potential health risk to the public may be caused by ice cream,particularly in susceptiblepopulations.

In this review,we focus on providing basics and examples for each component of the protein therapeutic specifications to interested pharmacists and biopharmaceutical scientists with a goal to strengthen understanding in regulatory science and *** specifications comprise a list of important quality attributes for testing,references to use for test procedures,and appropriate acceptance criteria for the tests,and they are set up to ensure that when a drug product is administered to a patient,its intended therapeutic benefits and safety can be rendered *** of drug substance or drug product to the specifications is achieved by testing an article according to the listed tests and analytical methods and obtaining test results that meet the acceptance *** attributes are chosen to be tested based on their quality risk,and consideration should be given to the merit of the analytical methods which are associated with the acceptance criteria of the *** criteria are set forth primarily based on efficacy and safety profiles,with an increasing attention noted for patient-centric *** in this work are related guidelines that support the biopharmaceutical specification setting,how to set the acceptance criteria,and examples of the quality attributes and the analytical methods from 60 articles and 23 pharmacopeial *** are also explored on process analytical technologies and other orthogonal tools which are on-trend in biopharmaceutical characterization and quality control.
