Introduction:Communities situated in protected areas generate conflicts among park administrators,residents and *** they stay or should they go?This article presents a positive example of a community existing in a state *** study describes the community’s governance process as well as how the park administration and the community solve the conflicts that arise and achieve a method of co-management in a multi-level governance ***:The analysis is based on the Management and Transition Framework(MTF).We used a case study approach and collected data via document study,participatory observation and qualitative ***:We find that the agreed system of community-based co-management has improved the implementation and enforcement of the state park’s rules through negotiation and communication mechanisms in the park *** relative success is due to the construction of social capital,equality and ***:For state parks in similar situations,the findings suggest that:1)a community should have at least a minimal level of self-organization;2)the empowerment of the community in the decision-making process is useful;3)the park administration should gain the trust of the residents;and 4)the effective management of ecosystem services can create a win-win situation for the community as well as the park.

The Historic Urban Landscape(HUL)Recommendation(UNESCO 2011)suggests that heritage management should be holistic,integrated,people-centred and focused on sustainable development *** tangible and intangible heritage should be taken into account,allowing for appropriate change over time.A variety of stakeholders should be involved in planning processes,including all levels of government,NGOs and *** dialogue and mediation,as well as tools such as documentation,inventorying and mapping should be used to identify multiple layers of *** the Recommendation thus offers a wonderful opportunity to develop consultative,bottom-up,integrated planning for sustainable development in urban *** paper suggests that one barrier to integrating management planning for tangible and intangible heritage is a persistent confusion about what‘intangible heritage’is and why it deserves *** it the values that local communities associate with their environment(‘intangible values’),or is it cultural practices that they happen to perform in that environment(intangible cultural heritage,or ICH)?Should‘intangible heritage’be managed as an attribute attesting to the authenticity of tangible fabric,or as a subject of safeguarding in its own right?If it means all these things at the same time,why is the same concept being used for so many different ideas and what are the consequences?The paper will suggest that a clearer conceptual understanding of intangible heritage is necessary to effectively integrate it into urban management strategies under the HUL approach.

The impacts of weather and climate-related disasters are increasing,and climate change can exacerbate many *** communicating climate risk and integrating science into policy requires scientists and stakeholders to work *** dialogue between scientists and policymakers can be challenging given the inherently multidimensional nature of the issues at stake when managing climate *** on the growing use of serious games to create dialogue between stakeholders,we present a new game for policymakers called Climate Attribution Under Loss and Damage:Risking,Observing,Negotiating(CAULDRON).CAULDRON aims to communicate understanding of the science attributing extreme events to climate change in a memorable and compelling way,and create space for dialogue around policy decisions addressing changing risks and loss and damage from climate *** describe the process of developing CAULDRON,and draw on observations of players and their feedback to demonstrate its potential to facilitate the interpretation of probabilistic climate information and the understanding of its relevance to informing *** looking to engage with stakeholders can learn valuable lessons in adopting similar innovative *** suitability of games depends on the policy context but,if used appropriately,experiential learning can drive coproduced understanding and meaningful dialogue.

Rule-following paradox in Philosophical Investigations remains a hot philosophical issue through which Wittgenstein promotes its intimate association with such core concepts like language games,meaning- is- use and private *** paradoxical way of explicating meaning is echoed in Chinese traditional *** paper discusses how Wittgenstein’ s puzzle of meaning is touched upon and dissolved by Chinese traditional philosophy well expressed in Zhuangzi’ s On the Uniformity of All Things(齐物论),Sengzhao’ s Immovability of Thing(物不迁),and Gongsun Long’ s White Horse dialogue(白马论),which all highlight determinacy in the indeterminacy of meaning.

Voluntary soil protection measures are not sufficient to achieve sustainable soil management at a global ***,binding soil protection legislation at national and international levels has also proved to be insufficient for the effective protection of this almost non-renewable natural *** European Soil Partnership(ESP)and its sub-regional partnerships(Eurasian Sub-Regional Soil Partnership,Alpine Soil Partnership)were established in the context of FAO's Global Soil Partnership(GSP)with the mission to facilitate and contribute to the exchange of knowledge and technologies related to soils,to develop dialogue and to raise awareness for the need to establish a binding global agreement for sustainable soil management The ESP has taken a role of an umbrella network covering countries in Europe and Central *** aims to improve the dialogue in the whole region and has encouraged establishing goals that would promote sustainable soil management taking into account various national and local approaches and priorities,as well as cultural *** ESP first regional implementation plan for the 2017—2020 period was adopted and implemented along the five GSP pillars of *** on the experience of the last four years,this study demonstrates that establishing sub-regional and national partnerships is an additional step in a concrete sustainable soil management implementation *** also suggests that a complementary approach between legal instruments and voluntary initiatives linked to the development of efficient communication and strong commitment is the key to success.

Development of learner autonomy is a challenging task, especially when students are not presented with regular opportunities to reveal their voice and take part in shaping,at least to a certain degree,classroom discourses. Engaging students in egalitarian teacher-students I-Thou dialogue(Buber, 1970)appears to be an effective way of empowering students voice,however there is need to investigate ways of practical implementation of this practice. Student feedback questionnaires(SFQs)have been widely used in tertiary institutions as a tool for establishing communication between students and teachers, as well as educational institutions,and evaluating course content and pedagogical methods *** of the major criticisms of this practice though is its summative nature and lack of closure of the feedback loop with students. Present study explores the practice of implementing formative continuous student feedback(CSF) throughout the duration of the whole course where teachers collect responses from students at the end of the class and close the loop in consecutive sessions by analyzing the feedback provided and acting upon it. Integrating the principles of Freire’s praxis and Buber’s I-Thou dialogue,this practice appears to be facilitative of building effective channels of communication between all parties involved,as well as developing greater sense of autonomy among students over the learning process in an English as a foreign language(EFL) classroom. The research is conducted as part of a larger CSF project implemented at a tertiary institution in Hong Kong.
