Engineering of efficient visible light photocatalysts:Ti_(1-x+y)Cu_(x)La_(y)O_(2)(x=0.03;y=0,0.005,0.01) compositions

In dye-photocatalysis, widening the wavelengths absorption range of catalysts as well as aborting the recombination of the photoexcited charge carriers(electrons-holes pairs) are of paramount *** the current study, we report the photocatalytic characteristics of four compositions composed of TiO_(2),Ti_(0.97)Cu_(0.03)O_(2), Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)powders for two harmful dyes(Congo red and methylene blue). The X-ray diffraction technique verified the configuration of mixed anatase and rutile phases in pure TiO_(2)and Ti_(0.97)Cu_(0.03)O_(2)powders while Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)powders possess anatase phase only. The changes of the band gap structure and dimensions of the unit cell volume of TiO_(2)confirm the substitution of Ti^(4+)sites by Cu^(2+)and La^(3+)ions. Remarkable widening of wavelengths absorption with formation of long absorption tails were found in TiO_(2)(3.13 e V) through insertion of La^(3+)plus Cu^(2+)ions. Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)samples exhibit a visible light band gap of 2.3 and 2.7 e V, respectively. Based on SEM images, incorporation of Cu^(2+)and La^(3+)ions influences the surface morphology of TiO_(2). The resulting Ti_(0.97)Cu_(0.03)O_(2), Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)powders present enhanced photocatalytic activity towards Congo red dye degradation compared to pure one under natural solar spectrum. The best Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)catalyst exhibits superior photocatalytic activity of 96% for 10 ppm CR dye in 20 min as well as above average photocatalytic efficiency of 63% for 30 ppm CR dye in 120 min. As well, it showed acceptable photodegradation activity of 52% for 30 ppm MB solution in 140 min of sunlight irradiation. Air conditioning is a crucial participant in indoor air circulation and harmful microorganism *** elucidate microbial contamination in air conditioning systems,bacteria,fungi,and pollens in residential air conditioning(AC)filters in Shanghai were *** concentrations of fungal ITS(1,972,037±5,025,505 copies/cm^(2))in most filter samples were considerably higher than the 16S rRNA gene(21,587±21,461 copies/cm^(2)).The multitudinous bacteria determined a higher richness,whereas the trend was not in line with fungi,owing to Aspergillus flourishing,with an average of 43.75%.Numerous bacteria that may often be prevalent in human skin,mucous membranes,and intestines,such as Enhydrobacter,Micrococcus,Staphylococcus,Streptococcus,and Haemophilus,were also discovered in AC *** pollens were affiliated with Streptophyta at phylum,and Humulus was the most abundant genus(mean value 67.84%),raising the possibility of allergic *** study provides a better understanding of the microbial characteristics of AC filters,enables more rational approaches for microbe contaminant control,and ultimately improves human health in megacities.

The 28th Conference of Parties(COP 28)of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(UNFCCC)is being held in Dubai,United Arab Emirates,from November 30 to December 12,2023,with the participation of over 160 world leaders(Figure 1).The tone of the COP 28 is set by the observation that,clearly,the nationally determined contributions related to CO_(2) emission reduction are not on track to curb the temperature rise as per the Paris *** order to hold the increase in global mean temperature to well below 2℃ above the pre-industrial level and to pursue efforts to limit the warming to 1.5℃,there is a need for ratcheting up ambition for near-term climate action.

Open data are currently a hot topic and are associated with realising ambitions such as a more transparent and efficient government,solving societal problems,and increasing economic *** describe and monitor the state of open data in countries and organisations,several open data assessment frameworks were *** high scores in these assessment frameworks,the actual(re)use of open government data(OGD)fails to live up to its *** review of existing open data assessment frameworks reveals that these only cover parts of the open data *** have developed a framework,which assesses open data supply,open data governance,and open data user characteristics *** holistic open data framework assesses the maturity of the open data ecosystem and proves to be a useful tool to indicate which aspects of the open data ecosystem are successful and which aspects require *** initial assessment in the Netherlands indicates that the traditional geographical data perform significantly better than non-geographical data,such as healthcare ***,open geographical data policies in the Netherlands may provide useful cues for other OGD strategies.

As the first carbon-free double helical semiconductor at an atomic scale,tin phosphide iodide(SnIP)has garnered growing interest due to its high structural flexibility,band gap in the visible spectrum range,and ***,we report the chemical vapor transport synthesis of SnIP nanowires(NWs).The photocatalytic activity of SnIP NWs was evaluated through the degradation of two representative toxic dyes,methylene blue(MB)and malachite green(MG),under visible light irradiation(λ>400 nm).These NWs exhibited notable photocatalytic efficiency,achieving degradation rates over 97%for MB and 95%for MG within 100 min of visible light *** degradation data align well with a pseudo-first-order reaction kinetics model for both dyes,with rate constants of 0.0347 and 0.0295 min^(−1).Furthermore,the synthesized catalyst demonstrated exceptional stability and recyclability,maintaining its efficient performance till six duplicate operations *** testing indicated that holes and OH radicals were the main active species driving the dye’s *** unusual photocatalytic efficiency can be attributed to their favorable band gap within the visible spectrum range and unique onedimensional *** results demonstrate that the SnIP NWs offer a promising choice for eco-friendly dye photodegradation.

Alginate is a natural polysaccharide *** filtration membranes prepared from alginate show excellent fouling resistance and controllable separation performance,but poor mechanical properties limit the use of algae *** this study,Ba^(2+)/Ca^(2+)co-crosslinked alginate(Ba/CaAlg)hydrogel membrane was prepared by cross-linking sodium alginate with a blend aqueous solution of barium ions and calcium ions,and the membrane was applied to the separation of dyes/salts from dyeing *** with the CaAlg membrane,the Ba/CaAlg hydrogel membrane exhibited more stable structure,and the mechanical properties and salt tolerance of the membrane were significantly *** flux of Ba/CaAlg membrane for methyl blue/sodium chloride mixed solution reached 43.5 L m^(−2) h^(−1),which was significantly higher than that of CaAlg ***,the Ba/CaAlg membrane showed higher dye rejection(>99.6%)and lower salt rejection(<8.2%).The structure of Ba/CaAlg membrane was preliminarily simulated by molecular dynamics,and the pore size and distribution of the membrane were *** Ba/CaAlg membrane has a broad application prospect in dyes/salts separation.

A novel approach for assessing the robustness of an equilibrium in conflict resolution is presented. Roughly, an equilibrium is robust if it is resilient, or resistant to deviation. Robustness assessment is based on a new concept called Level of Freedom, which evaluates the relative freedom of a decision maker to escape an equilibrium. Resolutions of a conflict can be affected by changes in decision makers＇ preferences, which may destabilize an equilibrium, causing the conflict to evolve. Hence, a conflict may become long-term and thereby continue to evolve, even after reaching an equilibrium. The new robustness measure is used to rank equilibria based on robustness, to facilitate distinguishing equiiibria that are relatively sustainable. An absolutely robust equilibrium is a special case in which the level of freedom is at an absolute minimum for each individual stability definition.

The use of spatial data has become a key factor in numerous public sector ***,recent evidence suggests that the seemingly obvious benefits of spatial data use and sharing often stay beyond *** paper examines whether the performance of spatial data in inter-organisational processes depends on the structural characteristics of the process *** structure here refers to the way in which tasks are divided and coordinated between the organisations in a process chain,and to the allocation of the spatial data handling tasks in that *** data performance describes the level of access,use and sharing of spatial data in the *** paper presents the results of a comparative case study of interorganisational public sector processes in the fields of urban planning,flood management,population registration,environmental permit delivery and road safety *** findings suggest that spatial data performance in inter-organisational processes depends on the interplay between the structural characteristics of the *** processes with embedded activities that are related to spatial data are apparently linked to a high level of spatial data performance,while fragmented processes without centralised coordination,or processes in which the spatial datarelated activities are separated from the actual process,seem to relate to lower levels of spatial data performance.
