Inspired by ballpoint pen, an optical biosensor is developed for detection of Salmonellausing a mechanical step rotator with a dropper to greatly simplify operation, a high gradient magnetic field with immune magnetic nanobeads to specifically separate bacteria, and immune gold@platinum nanozymes with a smartphone to sensitively detect bacteria. First, the preloaded bacterial sample is drawn by the dropper to react with the immune magnetic nanobeads through repeated squeezing and releasing of the dropper, and the rotator is successively rotated and the dropper is repeatedly squeezed and released to achieve mixing of the bacteria, magnetic nanobeads and gold@platinum nanozymes, followed by magnetic separation to remove the background. Then, the conjugates are eff ectively washed with skim milk and ultrapure water, and the substrate are rapidly catalyzed into the product. Finally, the blue product is photographed and analyzed using a smartphone to obtain the Salmonella concentration. This biosensor could detect Salmonellaas low as 56 CFU/mL in～25 min.

Background Goose, descendants of migratory ancestors, have undergone extensive selective breeding, resulting in their remarkable ability to accumulate fat in the liver and exhibit a high tolerance for significant energy intake. As a result, goose offers an excellent model for studying obesity, metabolic disorders, and liver diseases in mammals. Although the impact of the three-dimensional arrangement of chromatin within the cell nucleus on gene expression and transcriptional regulation is widely acknowledged, the precise functions of chromatin architecture reorganization during fat deposition in goose liver tissues still need to be fully *** In this study, geese exhibited more pronounced changes in the liver index and triglyceride(TG) content following the consumption of the high-fat diet(HFD) than mice without significant signs of inflammation. Additionally, we performed comprehensive analyses on 10 goose liver tissues(5 HFD, 5 normal), including generating highresolution maps of chromatin architecture, conducting whole-genome gene expression profiling, and identifying H3K27ac peaks in the livers of geese and mice subjected to the HFD. Our results unveiled a multiscale restructuring of chromatin architecture, encompassing Compartment A/B, topologically associated domains, and interactions between promoters and enhancers. The dynamism of the three-dimensional genome architecture, prompted by the HFD, assumed a pivotal role in the transcriptional regulation of crucial genes. Furthermore, we identified genes that regulate chromatin conformation changes, contributing to the metabolic adaptation process of lipid deposition and hepatic fat changes in geese in response to excessive energy intake. Moreover, we conducted a cross-species analysis comparing geese and mice exposed to the HFD, revealing unique characteristics specific to the goose liver compared to a mouse. Free-space quantum key distribution(QKD) plays an important role in the global quantum network. However, free space channels suffer from the atmospheric turbulence and scattering effects of haze,fog, and dust, which significantly weaken the performance of QKD or even block the secure quantum ***, we prove the performance of QKD over a dynamic scattering channel can be enhanced significantly using a fast wavefront shaping technique. The system achieves on average 10-dB enhancement of quantum transmission efficiency and establishes a secure quantum link for QKD. Our work demonstrates the feasibility of QKD through free-space dynamic scattering channels and enhances the deployment capability of complex-channel QKD system.

Efficient detection of single optical centres in solids is essential for quantum information processing, sensing and single-photon generation *** this work,we use radio-frequency（RF） reflectometry to electrically detect the photoionisation induced by a single Er3+ion in *** high bandwidth and sensitivity of the RF reflectometry provide sub-100-ns time resolution for the photoionisation *** this technique,the optically excited state lifetime of a single Er3+ion in a Si nano-transistor is measured for the first time to be 0.49±0.04μ*** results demonstrate an efficient approach for detecting a charge state change induced by Er excitation and *** approach could be used for fast readout of other single optical centres in solids and is attractive for large-scale integrated optical quantum systems thanks to the multi-channel RF reflectometry demonstrated with frequency multiplexing techniques.

In this paper, an enhanced adaptive nonlinear extended state observer (EANESO) for single-input single-output pure feedback systems in the presence of external time-varying disturbances is proposed. In this paper, a nonlinear system with matched and mismatched disturbances is considered. The conventional extended state observer (ESO) can only be applied to systems that are in the form of integral chains. Moreover, this method has limitations in the face of mismatched disturbances. In the presence of time-varying disturbances, the traditional ESOs cannot estimate the disturbances accurately. To overcome this limitation, an EANESO is proposed in this paper. The main idea is to design the nonlinear ESO (NESO) to estimate the states of the system and multiple disturbances simultaneously. The observer gains are considered time-varying and adjusted with adaptation laws to improve the estimation accuracy and overcome the peaking phenomenon. Next, the proposed controller is designed based on output feedback to eliminate the effects of multiple disturbances and stabilize the closed-loop system. Subsequently, the stability analysis of the closed-loop system and convergence of the observer error are discussed. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the inverted pendulum system. The simulated results show good performance of the proposed method as compared with a recently published scheme in the related literature.

Unraveling the mechanism underlying topological phases, notably the Chern insulators(Ch Is) in strong correlated systems at the microscopy scale, has captivated significant research interest. Nonetheless, Ch Is harboring topological information have not always manifested themselves, owing to the constraints imposed by displacement fields in certain experimental configurations. In this study, we employ density-tuned scanning tunneling microscopy(DT-STM) to investigate the Ch Is in twisted monolayer–bilayer graphene(t MBG). At zero magnetic field, we observe correlated metallic *** under a magnetic field, a metal–insulator transition happens and an integer Ch I is formed emanating from the filling index s = 3 with a Chern number C = 1. Our results underscore the pivotal role of magnetic fields as a powerful probe for elucidating topological phases in twisted Van der Waals heterostructures.

Theoreticalstudiesofthediff usionalisotope eff ect in solids are still stuck in the 1960s and 1970s. With the development of high spatial resolution mass spectrometers, isotopic data of mineral grains are rapidly accumulated. To dig up information from these data, molecularlevel theoretical models are urgently needed. Based on the microscopic defi nition of the diff usion coe ffi cient (D), a new theoretical framework for calculating the diff usional isotope eff ect(DIE(v))(intermsofD*/D)forvacancy-mediated impurity diff usion in solids is provided based on statistical mechanics formalism. The newly derived equation shows that theDIE(v)can be easily calculated as long as the vibration frequencies of isotope-substituted solids are *** calculatedDIE(v)values of199 Au/195 Au and60 Co/57 Co during diff usion in Cu and Au metals are all within 1%of errors compared to the experimental data, which shows that this theoretical model is reasonable and precise.

Forecasting uncertainties among meteorological fields have long been recognized as the main limitation on the accuracy and predictability of air quality ***,the particular impact of meteorological forecasting uncertainties on air quality forecasts specific to different seasons is still not well *** this study,a series of forecasts with different forecast lead times for January,April,July,and October of 2018 are conducted over the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region and the impacts of meteorological forecasting uncertainties on surface PM_(2.5)concentration forecasts with each lead time are *** increased lead time,the forecasted PM_(2.5)concentrations significantly change and demonstrate obvious seasonal *** general,the forecasting uncertainties in monthly mean surface PM_(2.5)concentrations in the BTH region due to lead time are the largest(80%)in spring,followed by autumn(~50%),summer(~40%),and winter(20%).In winter,the forecasting uncertainties in total surface PM_(2.5)mass due to lead time are mainly due to the uncertainties in PBL heights and hence the PBL mixing of anthropogenic primary *** spring,the forecasting uncertainties are mainly from the impacts of lead time on lower-tropospheric northwesterly winds,thereby further enhancing the condensation production of anthropogenic secondary particles by the long-range transport of natural *** summer,the forecasting uncertainties result mainly from the decrease in dry and wet deposition rates,which are associated with the reduction of near-surface wind speed and precipitation *** autumn,the forecasting uncertainties arise mainly from the change in the transport of remote natural dust and anthropogenic particles,which is associated with changes in the large-scale circulation.

Phase-coherent multi-tone lasers play a critical role in atomic,molecular,and optical *** them,the Raman opeartion laser for manipulating atomic hyperfine qubits requires gigahertz bandwidth and low phase noise to retain long-term *** operation lasers generated by directly modulated and frequency-multipled infrared lasers are compact and stable but lack feedback control to actively suppress the phase noise,which limits their performance in practical *** this work,we employ a fiber electro-optical modulator driven by a voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO)to modulate a monochromatic laser and employ a second-harmonic generation process to convert it to the visible domain,where the beat note of the Raman operation laser is stabilized by controlling the output frequency of VCO with a digital phase-locked loop(PLL).The low-frequency phase noise is effectively suppressed compared to the scheme without active feedback and it reaches-80 d Bc/Hz@5 k Hz with a 20 k Hz loop ***,this compact and robust scheme effectively reduces the system's complexity and cost,which is promising for extensive application in atomic,molecular,and optical physics.
