Fenton-like process based on metal oxide presents one of the most hoping strategies to generate reactive oxygen species to treat refractory pollutants. The introduction of oxygen vacancies（OVs） can enhance the catalytic performance of metal oxides in Fenton-like reaction. In this paper, a one-step all solid-state synthesis strategy is proposed to induce oxygen defects in V2O5, which uses graphene to engineer the crystallization process of V-based crystals. Such approach employs graphene as a solid-catalyst to promote growth of V-based crystals owing to the ions-π interactions between graphene and VCl3. The electrondonor OVs in V2O5@graphene can not only active H2O2for the·OH generation, but also accelerate the reduction of V5+)and V4+, thereby ensuring defective V2O5@graphene/H2O2system is 14.3, 28.2, and 17.3times higher than that of graphene/H2O2, pure V2O5/H2O2and graphene+V2O5/H2O2（mechanical mixed system）, respectively. Our study provides a novel synthetic strategy to design and prepare OVs-riched transition metal catalysts for developing advanced oxidation technologies toward higher sustainability and practicality.

China’s rural industrialization has been a major driver for its rapid economic growth during the recent decades,but its myriad environmental risks are yet to be fully *** on a comprehensive national land-use data set,our study shows that the area of China’s rural industrial land(RIL)quadrupled during 1990–2015,reaching 39338 km2 in 2015,comparable to urbanization in magnitude but with a much greater degree of landscape fragmentation which implies stronger ecological and environmental *** 91%of the protected areas in the central China were within 50 km from rural industrial land,thus exposed to industrial *** rural industrial land expansion,particularly in regions under high geo-hazard risks,led to dramatically increased environmental risks,threatening the safety and health of both rural industrial workers and ***,negative effects from rural industrial land expansion could partially offset the crop production growth in recent *** underprivileged rural population in the west bears a disproportionally large share of the increased environmental *** urgently needs to design and implement sustainable policies to restrict and reshape its rural *** study aims to inspire policy makers and researchers to rethink the current model of industrial expansion and improve rural industrial land planning,which is important for achieving the sustainable development goals of China.

Integrity and Size of Green Spaces Are Critical for the Functional Di-versity of Birds:Evidence from the Eastern and Northwestern Regions of China

Urbanization often changes bird species richness and affects the functional ***,understanding these changes helps city planners improve green space design and land use *** study used multiple datasets to explore the effects of land-scape patterns and natural environments on the functional diversity of birds in urban parks and campuses in the eastern and northwest-ern regions of ***,we used the data to calculate birds of the functional richness(FRic),functional evenness(FEve),and functional divergence(FDiv)of 68 urban spaces in the eastern and northwestern regions of ***,we established generalized linear models of natural factors,human factors,and functional *** showed more bird species with unique traits were in the north-western *** may be because the earlier urbanization in the eastern region filtered out urban-sensitive species,leaving behind urban ***,we found that the fractal dimension index was the most significant positive factor of FRic in the eastern region but the most significant negative factor of *** was the most significant negative influence factor of FEve in the eastern region,but it was the most potent positive influence factor of FRic in the northwestern *** density had a significant positive effect on FDiv in the northwestern ***,green space areas significantly negatively impacted FEve in the northwestern *** addition,birds in parks in both regions had more functional traits than those on campuses,possibly because of the larger green space in parks,which may contain more fragments of native vegetation and reduce human *** study suggests that preserving more original vegetation and reducing human disturbance in cities can increase the functional diversity of urban birds and im-prove urban ecosystem functions.

The impacts of climate change and human activities on vegetation dynamics have attracted wide attention,espe-cially in sensitive and vulnerable areas such as the Qingzang Plateau of *** this region,a series of ecological restoration projects have been launched while the effectiveness of these projects requires evaluation and further *** sensing with high temporal resolution and spatial coverage is an effective way for the vegetation dynamics research in this *** this study,the spatial and temporal distribution of climate factors and vegetation coverage as well as the influencing factors such as air temperature,precipitation,land use,slope,slope direction,soil and altitude were *** geographical detector was used to analyze the influence of climate factors on vegetation coverage and the interaction among factors in different eco-geographical *** results showed that:1)the average values from the 20 years of normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)decreased gradually from southeast(>0.61)to northwest(0.12).The overall average of NDVI increased 0.02 per year from 1998 to 2018 and the impact factors varied among different eco-geographical regions;2)some con-trolling factors showed nonlinear enhancement such as altitude and slope;3)land use was an important factor affecting the distribution of vegetation especially in humid,semi-arid and arid areas,but the impacts of elevation and temperature were stronger than land use types in semi-humid and humid *** design and construc-tion of ecological protection and restoration projects on the Qingzang Plateau required scientific and detailed demonstration as well as monitoring and *** addition,new tools and theories were also needed in the selection of ecosystem restoration *** on the findings,this study also provides suggestions for the sustainable ecological restoration on the Qingzang Plateau.

The runoff and soil loss were assessed in situ at the scale of 2.12 m2 plots during the rainy season of 2010 to better understand the determinants and magnitude of the massive soil loss and land subsidence (donga) in the sub-humid zone of Africa in Karimama, North Benin. The experimental design was a split plot with two factors: the topography in 3 modalities (upstream, center and downstream of the donga) was assigned as main plot factor and the degree of degradation of dongas in 2 modalities (beginner dongas and advanced dongas) was assigned as subplot factor. Runoff water was collected through a storage system composed of two tanks. Data were collected on 36 plots (9 plots per donga × 4 dongas). The runoff varies significantly from one site to another for the rainy episode of October 10, 2010. It is twice as high in land use areas (5.87 mm) as in W Park (2.32 mm;l.s.d. = 1.81 mm). From upstream to downstream, runoff and soil loss increased from 2.4 mm to 85.3 mm and 80 g·m-2 to 197 g·m-2, respectively. Runoff is high in the early dongas (7.60 mm) and low in the advanced dongas (5.68 mm) in contrast to lower soil loss in the early dongas (34 g·m-2) and high in the advanced dongas (237 g·m-2). The low value of soil loss with respect to the magnitude of the phenomenon suggests the probable occurrence of other soil loss mechanisms to be elucidated.
