Frequency and associated factors of accommodation and non-strabismic binocular vision dysfunction among medical university students

AIM:To investigate the frequency and associated factors of accommodation and non-strabismic binocular vision dysfunction among medical university ***:Totally 158 student volunteers underwent routine vision examination in the optometry clinic of Guangxi Medical *** data were used to identify the different types of accommodation and nonstrabismic binocular vision dysfunction and to determine their *** analysis and logistic regression were used to examine the factors associated with these ***:The results showed that 36.71%of the subjects had accommodation and non-strabismic binocular vision issues,with 8.86%being attributed to accommodation dysfunction and 27.85%to binocular *** insufficiency(CI)was the most common abnormality,accounting for 13.29%.Those with these abnormalities experienced higher levels of eyestrain(χ2=69.518,P<0.001).The linear correlations were observed between the difference of binocular spherical equivalent(SE)and the index of horizontal esotropia at a distance(r=0.231,P=0.004)and the asthenopia survey scale(ASS)score(r=0.346,P<0.001).Furthermore,the right eye's SE was inversely correlated with the convergence of positive and negative fusion images at close range(r=-0.321,P<0.001),the convergence of negative fusion images at close range(r=-0.294,P<0.001),the vergence facility(VF;r=-0.234,P=0.003),and the set of negative fusion images at far range(r=-0.237,P=0.003).Logistic regression analysis indicated that gender,age,and the difference in right and binocular SE did not influence the emergence of these ***:Binocular vision abnormalities are more prevalent than accommodation dysfunction,with CI being the most frequent *** binocular refractive disparity leads to more severe eyestrain symptoms.

Particle size characterization and sources of sediments in the Uzhumqin sand dunes

Nonlinear Multimodal Interference as Ultrafast Photonic Device for Dual-Wavelength Domain-Wall Dark Pulse Generation

In comparison to bright pulses, better stability that is not susceptible to loss makes dark pulses accessible for applications in such fields as signal processing, optics sensing, and quantum communication. Here we investigate the dual-wavelength domain-wall dark pulse generation in a graded-index multimode fiber(GIMF) based anomalous dispersion single-mode fiber(SMF) laser. By optimizing intra-cavity nonlinearity and pulse polarization, the mode-locked states can evolve each other between bright pulses, dark pulses, and bright-dark pulse pairs. The evolution mechanism among them may be relevant to the coherent mode superposition, spectral filtering, and mode selection in SMF-GIMF-SMF hybrid-fiber modulation devices that affect the pulse formation and evolution in temporal, frequency, and space domains. These results provide a valuable reference for promoting further development of nonlinear optics and ultrafast optics, in which ultrafast photonic devices, with low cost, simple manufacture as well as wide adaptability, as novel pulsed generation technique, play a vital role.

Sampling-efficient path planning and improved actor-critic-based obstacle avoidance for autonomous robots

autonomous robots have garnered extensive utilization in diverse fields. Among the critical concerns for autonomous systems, path planning holds paramount importance. Notwithstanding considerable efforts in its development over the years, path planning for autonomous systems continues to grapple with challenges related to low planning efficiency and inadequate obstacle avoidance response in a timely *** study proposes a novel and systematic solution to the path planning problem within intricate office buildings. The solution consists of a global planner and a local planner. To handle the global planning aspect, an adaptive clustering-based dynamic programming rapidly exploring random tree(ACDP-RRT) algorithm is proposed. ACDP-RRT effectively identifies obstacles on the map by leveraging geometric *** obstacles are then represented as a collection of sequentially arranged convex polygons, optimizing the sampling region and significantly enhancing sampling efficiency. For local planning, a network decoupling actor-critic(ND-AC) algorithm is employed. The proposed ND-AC simplifies the local planner design process by integrating planning and control loops into a neural network(NN) trained via an end-to-end model-free deep reinforcement learning(DRL) framework. Moreover, the adoption of network decoupling(ND) techniques leads to an improved obstacle avoidance success rate when compared to conventional actor-critic(AC)-based methods. Extensive simulations and experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed approach.

Optimizing extractants selection for efficient separation of phenols and nitrogen-containing heteroaromatics using hydrogen bond interaction strategies
