A vortex-induced vibration(VIV)experiment of rough risers with co.pling interference effect under a side-by-side arrangement was carried out in a wave-current co.bined *** roughness of the riser was characterized by arranging different specifications of surface attachments on the surface of the *** risers with three different roughnesses were arranged side by side with smooth risers to explore the VIV response of the riser under the co.bined action of roughness and interference effect,and to reveal the co.pling mechanism between roughness and interference *** experimental results show that,co.pared with that of a smooth riser,the VIV of a rough riser under the co.pling interference effect has a wider"lock-in"region,and the displacement decreases more significantly at a high reduced velocity,which is more likely to excite higher-order modes and frequency *** addition,the displacement response and frequency response of the smooth riser are not significantly affected by wake interference from the rough riser,which is caused by the decrease of the wake region due to the delay of the boundary layer separation point of the rough riser.

Slurry pipeline transport is widely used in several industrial *** the specific power co.sumption(SPC)and determining the best working co.ditions are important for the design and operation of transportation *** on the Shanghai Jiao Tong University high-co.centration multi-sized slurry pressure drop(SJTU-HMSPD)pipeline-resistance-calculation model,the SJTU-SPC model for calculating the power required to transport a unit volume of solid materials over a unit pipeline length is established for a slurry transport *** said system demonstrates a uniformity co.fficient in the 1.26–7.98 range,median particle size of 0.075–4 mm,particle volume co.centration of 10–60%,and pipeline diameter of 0.203–0.8 *** results obtained were successfully verified against existing experimental *** influence of parameters,such as particle-gradation uniformity co.fficient,median particle size,pipe diameter,and particle volume co.centration,on the SPC were *** results revealed that the greater is the uniformity co.fficient,the smaller is the minimum specific energy co.sumption and the larger the optimal transport co.centration for a co.stant,median particle size *** observed,the optimal transport co.centration for broad-graded sand equalled approximately 48%.These results supplement the co.clusions of existing research,indicating that the optimal transport co.centration is approximately 30%and provides theoretical support for high co.centration transportation of broad graded slurry.

The marine dredged sludge deposited in Dalian Bay was mixed with the appropriate amount of cement by using forced stirring mixing+industrial filling pump transportation+underwater filling process. The pilot-scale test on the filling of flowing solidified soil was co.ducted. The excavation sampling test, in-situ static co.e penetration test and plate loading test were carried out to investigate the variation of unco.fined co.pressive strength, shear strength, specific penetration resistance and bearing capacity of solidified soil with the amount of cement and curing period. The intrinsic co.nections between these factors are studied. The results show that there is a linear relationship between the characteristic value of bearing capacity of the solidified soil from dredged sludge and the unco.fined co.pressive strength and specific penetration resistance. The modified empirical formula can be used as a reference for the design, co.struction and testing of flow-solidified soil. co.pared with the layered filling process, the overall filling process has a much better uniformity and integrity. The applicability of different cements is different. It is proved that the density of JCW sludge stabilizer is 70 kg/m3 and water-solid ratio is 0.85, showing the optimal mix ratio of marine dredged sludge. When the curing age is 28 days, subgrade bearing capacity characteristic value of flow-solidified soil can reach 480 kPa. © 2020, Science Press. All right reserved.

In this paper, an experimental study on the sulphate attack resistance of high-performance co.crete (HPC) with two different water-to-binder ratios (w/b) under co.pressive loading is presented. The sulphate co.centration, co.pressive strength, and the mass change in the HPC specimens were determined for immersion in a Na2SO4 solution over different durations under external co.pressive loading by self-regulating loading equipment. The effects of the co.pressive stress, the w/b ratio, and the Na2SO4 solution co.centration on the HPC sulphate attack resistance under co.pressive loading were analysed. The results showed that the HPC sulphate attack resistance under co.pressive loading was closely related to the stress level, the w/b ratio, and the Na2SO4 solution co.centration. Applying a 0.3 stress ratio for the co.pressive loading or reducing the w/b ratio clearly improved the HPC sulphate attack resistance, whereas applying a 0.6 stress ratio for the co.pressive loading or exposing the HPC to a more co.centrated Na2SO4 solution accelerated the sulphate attack and HPC deterioration.

Due to the co.plex nature of multi-source geological data, it is difficult to rebuild every geological structure through a single 3D modeling method. The multi-source data interpretation method put forward in this analysis is based on a database-driven pattern and focuses on the discrete and irregular features of geological data. The geological data from a variety of sources co.ering a range of accuracy, resolution, quantity and quality are classified and integrated acco.ding to their reliability and co.sistency for 3D modeling. The new interpolation-approximation fitting co.struction algorithm of geological surfaces with the non-uniform rational B-spline(NURBS) technique is then presented. The NURBS technique can retain the balance among the requirements for accuracy, surface co.tinuity and data storage of geological structures. Finally, four alternative 3D modeling approaches are demonstrated with reference to some examples, which are selected acco.ding to the data quantity and accuracy specification. The proposed approaches offer flexible modeling patterns for different practical engineering demands.

Impact of estuarine reclamation projects on saltwater intrusion and freshwater resource

Estuarine projects can change local topography and influence water transport and saltwater *** Changjiang(Yangtze)River estuary is a multichannel estuary,and four major reclamation projects have been implemented in the Changjiang River estuary in recent years:the Xincun Shoal reclamation project(RP-XCS),the Qingcao Shoal reclamation project(RP-QCS),the Eastern Hengsha Shoal reclamation project(RP-EHS),and the Nanhui Shoal reclamation project(RP-NHS).The effects of the four reclamation projects and each project on the saltwater intrusion and water resources in the Changjiang River estuary were simulated in a 3D numerical *** show that for a multichannel estuary,local reclamation projects change the local topography and water diversion ratio(WDR)between channels and influence water and salt transport and freshwater utilization in the *** spring tide,under the cumulative effect of the four reclamation projects,the salinity decreases by approximately 0.5in the upper reaches of the North Branch and increases by 0.5-1.0 in the middle and lower reaches of the North *** the North Channel,the salinity decreases by approximately *** the North Passage,the salinity increases by *** the South Passage,the salinity increases by approximately 0.5 in the upper reaches and decreases by 0.2-0.5 on the north side of the middle and lower *** neap tide,the cumulative effects of the four reclamation projects and the individual projects are similar to those during spring tide,but there are some *** effects of an individual reclamation project on WDR and saltwater intrusion during spring and neap tides are simulated and analyzed in *** cumulative effect of the four reclamation projects favors freshwater usage in the Changjiang River estuary.

High effect flocculant co.pound bacteria were screened out with the product bacteria of flocculant in soil. Their system appraising study shows that two were actionomyces and the other was microzyme among the three bacteria. Acco.ding to nSrDNA, the three bacteria were marked at a molecule level and the system growth tree was established, ensuring the position of co.pound bacteria at the molecule level. The purificant which was made of the co.pound bacteria has spreading value because of its excellent clearing effect for organic and inorganic polluted water.

Energy shortages and environmental pollution are beco.ing increasingly severe globally. The exploitation and utilization of renewable energy have beco.e an effective way to alleviate these problems. To improve power production capacity, power output quality, and co.t effectiveness, co.prehensive marine energy utilization has beco.e an inevitable trend in marine energy development. Based on a semi-submersible wind-tidal co.bined power generation device,a three-dimensional frequency domain potential flow theory is used to study the hydrodynamic performance of such a device. For this study, the RAOs and hydrodynamic co.fficients of the floating carrier platform to the regular wave were obtained. The influence of the tidal turbine on the platform in terms of frequency domain was co.sidered as added mass and damping. The direct load of the tidal turbine was obtained by *** software was used for the seco.d development of adaptive query workload aware software, which can include the external force. The motion response of the platform to the irregular wave and the tension of the mooring line were calculated under the limiting co.dition(one mooring line breakage). The results showed that the motion response of the carrier to the surge and sway direction is more intense, but the swing amplitude is within the acceptable range. Even in the worst case scenario, the balance position of the platform was still in the positioning range, which met the requirements of the working sea area. The safety factor of the mooring line tension also co.plied with the requirements of the design specification. Therefore, it was found that the hydrodynamic performance and motion responses of a semi-submersible wind-tidal co.bined power generation device can meet the power generation requirements under all design co.ditions, and the device presents a reliable power generation system.

Sediments in many rivers and lakes are subjected to resuspension due to a co.bination of ***,the roles of co.taminant-co.tained dissolved and particulate sediments during the resuspension release are rarely *** study focuses on the release quantity of co.taminants in both water phase and solid *** tracer(NaCl)and reactive tracer(Phosphorus)were respectively added to co.esive fine-grained sediments and non-co.esive co.rse-grained sediments.A range of typical shear stress was co.ducted to characterize the time-depended release of co.taminants in a laboratory *** the sediment started to move,the co.centration of co.taminant in the overlying water increased with the bed shear stress,but the dissolved co.taminants responded faster than the particulate *** observed co.taminant release process can be divided into three main stages:the initial two hours fast mixing:the release co.tribution of pore water co.ld reach up to 75%;the middle 4–6 h adsorption:the partitioning co.fficient of co.taminant between water phase and solid phase decreased over the time,and the adsorption of co.taminates from resuspended sediment dominated the negative release;the last equilibrium stage:the desorption and adsorption reached equilibrium,and the reactive co.taminant made an impact on the water quality in the solid *** existing formulas to evaluate the release flux are far from practice meaning as the sediment co.taminants undergo a very co.plex release process.

Acco.ding to the Gibbs free energy difference between liquid and crystal,a thermodynamic glass-forming ability(GFA) parameter related to characteristic temperatures,onset crystallization temperature(Tx)and liquidus temperature(Tl),was proposed for evaluating the GFA of bulk metallic glasses(BMGs).The new parameter defined asω=Tl(Tl+Tx)/(Tx(Tl-Tx))has good co.relation with the critical section thickness(Zc)of Ca-Mg-Cu *** verified by the glasses data,including oxide glasses,which were used to validate the former GFA parameters,ωis one of the most reliable and applicable GFA parameters among Trg(=Tg/Tl), γ(=Tx/(Tl+Tg)),α(=Tx/Tl),δ(=Tx/(Tl-Tg),and so ***,predicting GFA of Cu-Ag-Zr-Ti and Cu-Zr-Ti-Al BMGs usingωwas co.pared with the experimental results.
