Aflatoxin B1, zearalenone and deoxynivalenol in feed ingredients and co.plete feed from different Province in China

Background： The current study was carried out to provide a reference for monitory of aflatoxin B_1（AFB_1）,zearalenone（ZEN） and deoxynivalenol（DON） co.tamination in feed ingredients and co.plete feeds were co.lected from different Province in China from 2013 to ***： A total of 443 feed ingredients, including 220 co.n, 24 wheat, 24 domestic distillers dried grains with soluble（DDGS）, 55 bran, 20 wheat shorts and red dog, 37 imported DDGS, 34 co.n germ meal and 29 soybean meal as well as 127 co.plete feeds including 25 pig co.plete feed（powder）, 90 pig co.plete feed（pellet）, six duck co.plete feed and six cattle co.plete feed were randomly co.lected from different Province in China,respectively, by high-performance chromatography in co.bined with UV or fluorescence ***： The incidence rates of AFB_1, ZEN and DON co.tamination of feed ingredients and co.plete feeds were80.8, 92.3 and 93.9 %, respectively. The percentage of positive samples for DON ranged from 66.7 to 100 %.Domestic DDGS and imported DDGS presented the most serious co.tamination AFB_1, ZEN and DON co.tamination levels of feeds ranged from 61.5 to 100 %, indicated that serious co.tamination over the studied 3-year ***： The current data provide clear evidence that AFB_1, ZEN and DON co.tamination of feed ingredients and co.plete feeds in different Province in China is serious and differs over past 3-year. The use of co.n, domestic DDGS, imported DDGS and co.n germ meal, which may be co.taminated with these three myco.oxins, as animal feed may triggered a health risk for animal. Feeds are most co.taminated with DON followed by ZEN and AFB_*** co.tamination in feed ingredients and co.plete feeds should be monitored routinely in China.

Two cardenolide glyco.ides,co.otoxigenin 3-0-[β-D-gluco.yranosyl-(l→4)-6-deoxy-β-D-gluco.yranoside](1)and co.oglaucigenin 3-0-[β-D-gluco.yranosyl-(l→4)-6-deoxy-β-D-gluco.yranoside](2),were isolated from the seed fairs of Asclepias *** structures of 1-2 were determined based on the co.bination of the analysis of their MS,NMR spectrosco.ic data and acid *** inhibitory effects of co.pounds 1 and 2 on human co.orectal carcinoma cells(HCT116),non-small cell lung carcinoma cells(A549)and hepatic cancer cells(SMMC-7721)were *** results showed that both co.pounds 1 and 2 significantly inhibited the viability,proliferation,and migration of A549,HCT116 and SMMC-7721 cells,suggesting that co.pounds 1 and 2 can be applied in the treatment of lung,co.on and liver cancers in clinical *** study may not only provide a scientific basis for clarifying the active ingredients in ***,but also help to understand its antitumor activity,which can promote the application of *** in clinical treatment of various cancers.

Akkermansia muciniphila（***） is being co.sidered as a potential next-generation probiotic due to its impressive physiological functions such as enhancing insulin sensitivity,promoting weight loss and improving intestinal barrier ***-density cultivation of *** in vitro at a low co.t is a promising and urgent research ***,an optimized medium with simple ingredients was attained through eliminating the nonessential inorganic salts,vitamins,and trace metal ions,which achieved high OD value of 5.2 in the shake *** large-scale culture,a strategy of pseudo-exponential gluco.e feeding and stage pHco.trolling was investigated in a 5-L bioreactor,which led to a significant improvement in the cell density of ***,reaching OD value of 22.03(1.18×10 CFU/mL),which was 3.13 times higher than the highest reported value(OD = 7.02).Taken together,the present work provides a more co.ducive fermentation strategy for the industrial production of *** in vitro with a reduced production co.t.

Background： To investigate the effects of dietary crude protein（CP） restriction on muscle fiber characteristics and key regulators related to protein deposition in skeletal muscle, a total of 18 growing-finishing pigs（62.30 ± 0.88 kg）were allotted to 3 groups and fed with the reco.mended adequate protein（AP, 16 % CP） diet, moderately restricted protein（MP, 13 % CP） diet and low protein（LP, 10 % CP） diet, respectively. The skeletal muscle of different locations in pigs, including longissimus dorsi muscle（LDM）, psoas major muscle（PMM） and biceps femoris muscle（BFM） were co.lected and ***： Results showed that growing-finishing pigs fed the MP or AP diet improved（P 〈 0.01） the average daily gain and feed： gain ratio co.pared with those fed the LP diet, and the MP diet tended to increase（P = 0.09） the weight of LDM. Moreover, the ATP co.tent and energy charge value were varied among muscle samples from different locations of pigs fed the reduced protein diets. We also observed that pigs fed the MP diet up-regulated（P 〈 0.05） muscular m RNA expression of all the selected key genes, except that myosin heavy chain（My HC） IIb,My HC IIx, while m RNA expression of ubiquitin ligases genes was not affected by dietary CP level. Additionally, the activation of mammalian target of rapamycin co.plex 1（m TORC1） pathway was stimulated（P 〈 0.05） in skeletal muscle of the pigs fed the MP or AP diet co.pared with those fed the LP ***： The results suggest that the pigs fed the MP diet co.ld catch up to the growth performance and the LDM weight of the pigs fed the AP diet, and the underlying mechanism may be partly due to the alteration in energy status, modulation of muscle fiber characteristics and m TORC1 activation as well as its downstream effectors in skeletal muscle of different locations in growing-finishing pigs.

Opposite Neurophysiological Findings Induced by Sideritis scardica and Sideritis euboa Extract in the Rat

Psychophysiological effects of Sideritis herba extracts depend on biologically active ingredients, which might be different for several botanical types of this plant. The present investigation aimed at the characterization of extracts from Sideritis scardica and Sideritis euboa in vivo and in vitro. co.struction of electropharmaco.rams on the base of reco.ding of electrical field potentials from four different brain regions was used to co.pare the possible pharmaco.ogical effects to a database of reference drugs with known clinical indications. Whereas Sideritis scardica produced decreases of spectral power in line with stimulatory frequency patterns as observed in the presence of Ginkgo biloba extract, administration of Sideritis euboa produced opposite effects. Electrical stimulation of the Schaffer co.laterals was used to elicit a pyramidal cell response called population spike in vitro. The amplitude of this spike was determined in the presence of single as well as theta burst stimuli. Direct exposure of brain matter to Sideritis scardica extract led to co.centration dependent increases of the population spike amplitude under both stimulation patterns in the range from 12.5 to 100 mg/L. On the opposite, extract from Sideritis euboa did not change the electric response up to 50 mg/L. Higher co.centrations of this extract attenuated the signal amplitude. A 1:1 blend of both gave intermediate results. The in vitro results are in line with the in vivo EEG reco.dings, where both extracts induced opposite changes of the electric power with respect to electric frequency patterns. The results from both models suggest a stimulatory and/or memory-enhancing action for the extract from Sideritis scardica but not for Sideritis euboa extract, where a more tranquillizing effect like that observed in the presence of Humulus co.e extract may be expected.

This study investigated the effects of different amounts of wheat aleurone(WA)(0,15%,30%)inclusion in gestation diets on the reproductive performance,postprandial satiety,stress status and stereotypic be-haviors of sows.A total of 84 Landrace×Yorkshire sows(parity 4.87±1.32)at breeding were randomly allotted to one of the three isoenergetic and isonitrogenous dietary treatments based on parity and body *** results showed that,co.pared with the co.trol(0),sows fed the WA diet had a higher serum co.centration of peptide YY(PYY)(Pco.centration of saliva co.tisol(Pco.pared with the co.trol group,only the 15%WA group had a higher co.centration of the total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)(Pco.dingly,the production co.t per piglet born alive($6.9 vs.$7.6)or per piglet born healthy($7.4 vs.$7.9)declined in the 15%WA group versus the co.trol ***,15%WA inclusion in gestation diets co.tributed to enhancing postprandial satiety,alleviating stress status and decreasing stillbirth rate of *** study provides a reference for the application of WA as a partial substitute for co.ventional feed ingredients to improve sows'repro-ductive performance.
