Characterization of Turbot(Scophthalmus maximus) Skin and the Extracted Acid-Soluble Collagen

The biochemical composition of the turbot skin was investigated. The moisture level of the skin was found to be 51.4%. Based on dry matter content, there were relatively high protein(82.1%) and lipid(13.1%) concentrations in the turbot skin. Mineral element analysis revealed that the turbot skin had high Ca content(2069.0 mg kg^-1), and the concentrations of toxic heavy metals Hg and Pb were less than 0.005 mg kg^-1, which indicates that the turbot skin is a safe resource for collagen production. The sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE) analysis showed that acid-soluble collagen(ASC) extracted from the turbot skin was type-I collagen. The imino acid content of the ASC was 241.6 per 1000 amino acids, which suggests a relatively high denaturation temperature. The Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectra of ASC reflected a highly stable structure, and the measured denaturation temperature of ASC was 29.5℃, which is higher than those from many temperate fishes. ASC was the most soluble at pH 4.0, and when the pH values were below or above 4.0, the solubility decreased rapidly. The ASC exhibited a relatively high solubility when NaCl concentration was lower than 2%. These results show that turbo skin can be employed as a source for producing collagen with high quality.

In this paper, the Al Mg B14 and Al Mg B14–Ti B2 composites were synthesized by means of mechanical alloying and the field-activated and pressure-assisted synthesis process. The effect of temperature and pressure on the purity and property of products was discussed. The results show that the process of preparing Al Mg B14 bulk materials is optimized as follows： synthesis temperature1,400–1,500 ℃, heating rate 100 ℃ min^-1, axial pressure60 MPa, heat preservation 8–10 min, optimum starting powders＇ ratio Al： Mg： B = 0.1915：0.1363：0.6722, and adding excessive 3 wt% Al. The abrasion resistance of Al Mg B14 composites with varying amounts of Ti B2 was studied using single-point diamond scratch tests with loads ranging from 10 to 100 N in 10 N increments. The scratch width increases almost linearly with the applied load and decreases with Ti B2 proportion increasing up to 70 wt%.With its advantages of fast heating, short reaction time,energy conservation, and high purity, this method offers a new way to synthesize Al Mg B14 and Al Mg B14–Ti B2 composites.

Motion control based on biologically inspired methods,such as Central Pattern Generator(CPG)models,offers a promising technique for robot ***,for a quadruped robot which needs to maintain balance while performing flexible movements,this technique often requires a complicated nonlinear oscillator to build a controller,and it is difficult to achieve agility by merely modifying the predefined limit cycle in real *** this study,we tried to solve this problem by constructing a multi-module controller based on *** different parallel modules will ensure the dynamic stability and agility of *** the proposed controller,a specific control task is accomplished by adding basic and superposed *** basic motions decide the basic foot end trajectories,which are generated by the predefined limit cycle of the CPG *** to conventional kinematics-based design,the superposed motions are generated through different modules alter the basic foot end trajectories to maintain balance and increase *** a considerable stability margin can be achieved,different modules are designed *** proposed CPG-based controller is capable of stabilizing a walking quadruped robot and performing start and stop movements,turning,lateral movement and reversal in real *** and simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.

We study the Painlevé property of the （1＋1）-dimensional equations arising from the symmetry reduction for the （2＋1）- dimensional ones. Firstly, we derive the similarity reduction of the （2＋1）-dimensional potential Calogero-Bogoyavlenskii- Schiff （CBS） equation and Konopelchenko-Dubrovsky （KD） equations with the optimal system of the admitted one-dimensional subalgebras. Secondly, by analyzing the reduced CBS, KD, and Burgers equations with Painlevé test, re-spectively, we find both the Painlevé integrability, and the number and location of resonance points are invariant, if the similarity variables include all of the independent variables.

This study examined the biochemical responses of wheat（Triticum aestivum） to the stress of rare earth yttrium（Y） and showed that 25–100 mg/kg Y treatments evidently increased the biomass（root mass,shoot mass and leaf mass）,accompanied by a significant（p0.05） increase in the chlorophyll（CHL） content in wheat *** malondialdehyde（MDA） levels were detected in wheat shoots（stem and leaf） and roots too,indicating the presence of poisoning active oxygen species（AOS）.The MDA content in wheat roots increased with the augmentation of Y *** results indicated that there was a dose-dependent effect of Y on the changes of MDA content in wheat *** the activities of superoxide dismutases（SOD）,peroxidases（POD） and catalases（CAT） in wheat shoots and roots irregularly fluctuated with the increase in Y concentration,25–100 mg/kg Y significantly（p0.01） increased the activities of SOD and *** general,the dose-dependent effects of Y on the activity of antioxidant enzymes were *** data also indicated that the increase in SOD and POD activities could be used as a good biomarker for the stress induced by low concentrations of Y.

Garlic prices fluctuate dramatically in recent years and it is very difficult to predict garlic *** autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA)model is currently the most important method for predicting garlic ***,the ARIMA model can only predict the linear part of the garlic prices,and cannot predict its nonlinear ***,it is urgent to adopt a method to analyze the nonlinear characteristics of garlic *** comparing the advantages and disadvantages of several major prediction models which used to forecast nonlinear time series,using support vector machine(SVM)model to predict the nonlinear part of garlic prices and establish ARIMA-SVM hybrid forecast model to predict garlic *** monthly average price data of garlic in 2010-2017 was used to test the effect of ARIMA model,SVM model and ARIMA-SVM *** experimental results show that:(1)Garlic price is affected by many factors but the most is the supply and demand relationship;(2)The SVM model has a good effect in dealing with the nonlinear relationship of garlic prices;(3)The ARIMA-SVM hybrid model is better than the single ARIMA model and SVM model on the accuracy of garlic price prediction,it can be used as an effective method to predict the short-term price of garlic.

Food security is becoming increasingly prominent due to the impact of the COVID-19 and extreme weathers. The Smart Project for “Clean Your Plate” Campaign has been designed and implemented to address food waste on campus. The project takes advantage of technologies such as IoT, dynamic QR code, and visual recognition. Smart devices for clear plate recognition can be installed in multiple locations in campus cafeterias and canteens. Users can login onto a public account and a Mini Program for points reward, exchange and sale. Combining offline clear plate recognition and online points exchange, the project encourages food saving and reduces human cost for university canteens.

Evaluation on monthly sea surface wind speed of four reanalysis data sets over the China seas after 1988

This study investigates the long-term changes of monthly sea surface wind speeds over the China seas from 1988 to 2015. The 10-meter wind speeds products from four major global reanalysis datasets with high resolution are used: Cross-Calibrated Multi-Platform data set(CCMP), NCEP climate forecast system reanalysis data set(CFSR),ERA-interim reanalysis data set(ERA-int) and Japanese 55-year reanalysis data set(JRA55). The monthly sea surface wind speeds of four major reanalysis data sets have been investigated through comparisons with the longterm and homogeneous observation wind speeds data recorded at ten stations. The results reveal that(1) the wind speeds bias of CCMP, CFSR, ERA-int and JRA55 are 0.91 m/s, 1.22 m/s, 0.62 m/s and 0.22 m/s, *** wind speeds RMSE of CCMP, CFSR, ERA-int and JRA55 are 1.38 m/s, 1.59 m/s, 1.01 m/s and 0.96 m/s,respectively;(2) JRA55 and ERA-int provides a realistic representation of monthly wind speeds, while CCMP and CFSR tend to overestimate observed wind speeds. And all the four data sets tend to underestimate observed wind speeds in Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea;(3) Comparing the annual wind speeds trends between observation and the four data sets at ten stations for 1988-1997, 1988–2007 and 1988–2015, the result show that ERA-int is superior to represent homogeneity monthly wind speeds over the China seaes.
