Piwi-interacting RNAs(piRNAs of 26-32 nt in length)regulate gene expression,epigenetics,and transcriptional and post-transcriptional processes.1 In humans,piRNAs are expressed in germline and somatic tissues,and generally have a uracil at the 5'-end(position+1),an adenine at the+10 position,and are 2'-0 methylated at the 3'-end.2 Onice piRNAs form the RNA-induced silencing complex(RISC)with PIWl proteins,they serve as guides to find their complementary sequences of the target mRNA,thus initiating their *** Wuhan patient's genome is approximately 265 nucleotides(nts)in its 3'-UTR;piRNAs-like sequences have been reported in this region.3 Our objective was to search,through bioinformatics,for mRNA sequences that were homologous to the reverse complementary of the previously reported piRNA-like sequences from the 3'-UTR of SARS-Cov-2,3 and identify the possible interaction between them.

Dimensions of sustainable development were analyzed based on the commonality, services, and ecotourism activities of 35 indigenous communities in Mexico. Based on indicators of local development in indigenous communities with ecotourism activities available and environmental indicators given by the Ministry of Tourism of Mexico SECTUR and of communitarian sustainability developed in Mexico. Data from a 118 items questionnaire from inhabitants participating in ecotourism projects of indigenous groups within 13 states of the Mexican Republic were tested. The results showed the definition of five categories of local development, two environmental categories, and four categories of communitarian sustainability in the Mexican states with the largest indigenous populations. A positive relationship between the community perspective and the indigenous ecotourism and the three dimensions of sustainable development was observed. This study provides an alternative methodology for the analysis of the sustainable development dimensions in projects of indigenous communities.

Case report of a 23-year-old male patient with a pancreatic pseudocyst, initially was treated by the Interventional Radiology service by placing percutaneous drainage with poor evolution, abruptly presented abdominal pain, Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome and peritoneal irritation, so an urgent exploratory laparotomy was performed with a finding of rupture of the pancreatic pseudocyst into the abdominal cavity. He presented septic shock and died in the immediate postoperative period. Computerized Axial Tomography represents the ideal diagnostic method. Spontaneous rupture is extremely rare and requires urgent surgical intervention.

Physicochemical, functional and digestibility analyses were done of dehydrated quail egg white to determine its possible practical applications. Quail egg white was dehydrated by air convection using one of two temperatures and times: M1 (65℃, 3.5 h), M2 (65℃, 5.0 h), M3 (70℃, 3.5 h) and M4 (70℃, 5.0 h). Lyophilized quail egg white was used as a standard. All four air-dried treatments had good protein levels (92.56% to 93.96%), with electrophoresis showing the predominant proteins to be lysozyme, ovalbumin and ovotransferin. Denaturation temperatures ranged from 81.16℃ to 83.85℃ and denaturation enthalpy values from 5.51 to 9.08 J/g. Treatments M1-4 had lower water-holding (0.90 - 2.95 g/g) and oil-holding (0.92 - 1.01 g/g) capacities than the lyophilized treatment (4.5 g/g, 1.95 g/g, respectively). Foaming capacity was pH-dependent in all five treatments, with the lowest values at alkaline pH and the highest (153% to 222%) at acid pH (pH 2). Foam stability was lowest at acid pH and highest at alkaline pH. Emulsifying activity in the air-dried treatments was highest at pH 8 (41% - 46%). Emulsion stability was pH-dependent and highest in M3 between pH 2 and 4 (96.16% to 95.74%, respectively). In the air-dried treatments, in vitro protein digestibility was as high as 83.02% (M3).

The iron concentrate from Hercules Mine of Coahuila,Mexico,which mainly contained pyrite and pyrrhotite,was treated by the bioleaching process using native strain Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans （***） to determine the ability of these bacteria on the leaching of *** native bacteria were isolated from the iron concentrate of the *** bioleaching experiments were carried out in shake flasks to analyze the effects of pH values,pulp density,and the ferrous sulfate concentration on the bioleaching *** results obtained by microbial kinetic analyses for the evaluation of some aspects of zinc leaching show that the native bacteria ***,which is enriched with a 9K Silverman medium under the optimum conditions of pH 2.0,20 g/L pulp density,and 40 g/L FeSO4,increases the zinc extraction considerably observed by monitoring during15 d,i.e.,the zinc concentration has a decrease of about 95% in the iron concentrate.

Violence against university students and among them is analyzed on campus and the household as well as the relationships of violence between these two social *** study was undertaken through an anonymous random survey in the two larger public universities in a Mexican medium-sized *** violence and types of violence-verbal,psychological,sexual,and physical-were evaluated by sex and by universities;and the aggressors were identified.A students’concept of violence was built,considering causes of intimate-partner violence,violence in general and ethical judgment on gender ***,it was measured the relationships between violence on campus and in the household using bivariate statistical *** indicate the main aggressors on campus are classmates and professors,whereas in the household are the mother,relatives together with the parents and relatives without the ***-campus,there were found statistically significant associations between professors-aggressors and students as victims of violence by *** the household,the bivariate analysis confirmed mothers as single aggressors and fathers exerting violence together with relatives against student-children;and direct relationships between on-campus(psychological and sexual violence)and domestic(physical and sexual violence).

This work is focused on a project that integrates the curriculum of biochemistry, lineal algebra and computer programming. The purpose is for students to develop a software tool which calculates enzyme kinetic parameters based on proposed data. This program calculates such parameters using a linear regression of one of the linear forms of the Michaelis-Menten equations; moreover it characterizes the confidence of the lineal fit with the correlation coefficient. Once the different proposed steps were accomplished, we concluded that the purpose was satisfactorily reached with an increment in creative ability. The most important fact is that the percentage of failure among students was 57%, 50%, 28% and 18% from 2005 to 2008, respectively.

The purpose was to examine and compare the psychometric properties of a Mexican Spanish version of the WHOQOL-OLD module. The instrument was applied to 285 individuals aged over 60 years (mean = 69.26, SD = 6.52). All participants completed a demographic data sheet, the WHOQOL-OLD, the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS);182 of the 285 participants also completed a quality of life questionnaire for diabetic patients (DQOL). Acceptable levels of reliability were found, with Cronbach’s alpha values between 0.70 and 0.90 for overall quality of life and all domains except for autonomy, where the alpha value was low. The exploratory factor analysis carried out to examine the construct validity of the instrument yielded six domains: sensory abilities, autonomy, past/present/future activities, social participation, death and dying, and intimacy (explained variance of 62.95%). The mean overall quality of life score was 94.86 (SD = 13.68, range 50 to 120). The WHOQOL-OLD module showed criterion validity and concurrent validity with respect to the BDI (r = -0.516, p = 0.034), the GDS (r = -0.336, p = 0.002), and the DQOL (n = 182, r = 0.159, p = 0.032). Discriminant validity was also confirmed with respect to self-perceived health (t = 2.701, d.f. = 225, p = 0.007) and education (F(3, 280) = 9.015, p p > 0.05). We conclude that the Mexican Spanish version of the WHOQOL-OLD module has adequate psychometric properties.

This paper presents a study of technical and economical sensitivity for different standalone system configurations with renewable and conventional sources of energy, with storage of hydrogen and batteries. The main objective is to establish the cost of the energy that is produced by such systems. The free software hybrid optimization model for electric renewables (HOMER) was used in this work. Different combinations for the generation of electricity are included in this sensitivity analysis, and the combinations of optimal systems are obtained. The tendencies of the cost of the energy produced in different conditions of the annual wind speed average and of the cost of the fuel cell are described. The cost related to the storage of hydrogen adversely affects the present systems. However, the sensitivity analysis of the cost of production of energy by means of renewable sources of energy has shown that it is possible to obtain systems whose costs of production of energy are similar to those of current systems of renewable sources.
