Two New Furostanol Saponins from Tribulus Terrestris L.

Two new furostanol glucosides, named tribufurosides G and H, were isolated from Tribulus terrestris L. The structures of the two new furostanol glucosides were elucidated as 26-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-（25R）-5α-furost12-one-3β,22α,26-tetraol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-（ 1→2 ）-β-D-glucopyranosyl-（ 1→4 ）-β-D-galactopyranoside（ 1 ） and 26-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-（25S）-5 α- 12-one-2 α,3,8,22 α,26-tetraol-3 -O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-（ 1 → 2 ）-β-D-glucopyranosyl-（1→4）-β-D-galactopyranoside（2） by 1 D, 2D NMR techniques, ESI-MS analysis as well as chemical methods.

OBJECTIVE:To systematically assess the clinical effectiveness of chinese medicines for prevention and treatment of radiation esophagitis by ***:The articles were mainly retrieved from the "CHKD(China Hospital Knowledge Database) periodical full text databank",the "China periodical full text databank",the "CHKD doctor's and Master's degree student full text databank",and the "China doctor's degree student thesis databank",and they were selected according to the literature selection *** effects of chinese medicines and Western medicines on radiation esophagitis were compared by ***:Based on 13 articles,we found that the effectiveness of chinese medicines for prevention and treatment of radiation esophagitis was superior to Western medicines,with no obvious side ***-analysis showed that the total odds ratio was 0.426 and the 95% confidence interval was 0.368,***:chinese medicines are superior to Western medicines in preventing and treating radiation ***,some methodological problems in the literature may have affected the authenticity of the ***,more rigorous,multi-central,randomized controlled trials with a large sample size should be designed to obtain a more reliable conclusion.

Objective:This study tests whether long-term intake of Allium tuberosum(AT)can alleviate pulmonary inflammation in ovalbumin(OVA)-induced asthmatic mice and evaluates its effect on the intestinal microbiota and innate lymphoid cells(ILCs).Methods:BALB/c mice were divided into three groups:phosphate buffer saline,OVA and OVA+*** asthmatic murine model was established by sensitization and challenge of OVA in the OVA and OVA+AT *** was given to the OVA+AT group by oral gavage from day 0 to day *** day 28,mice were *** evaluation of lung tissue was performed using hematoxylin and eosin,and periodic acid-Schiff *** levels of IgE in serum,interleukin-5(IL-5)and IL-13 from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** ILCs from the lung and gut were detected by flow cytometry.16 S ribosomal DNA sequencing was used to analyze the differences in colon microbiota among treatment ***:We found that long-term intake of AT decreased the number of inflammatory cells from BALF,reduced the levels of IL-5 and IL-13 in BALF,and IgE level in serum,and rescued pulmonary histopathology with less mucus secretion in asthmatic mice.16 S ribosomal DNA sequencing results showed that AT strongly affected the colonic bacteria community structure in asthmatic mice,although it had no significant effect on the abundance and diversity of the *** and Desulfovibrionaceae were identified as two biomarkers of the treatment effect of ***,AT decreased the numbers of ILCs in both the lung and gut of asthmatic ***:The results indicate that AT inhibits pulmonary inflammation,possibly by impeding the activation of ILCs and adjusting the homeostasis of gut microbiota in asthmatic mice.

Cancer-related fatigue （CRF） is a common and one of the most severe symptom in the period of onset, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation process of cancer. But there are no confirmed measures to relieve this problem at present. traditional chinese medical comprehensive therapy has its advantages in dealing with this condition. Based on the research status of CRF, the following problems have been analyzed and solved： the term of CRF has been defined and recommended, and the definition has been made clear; the disease mechanism is proposed, i.e. healthy qi has been impaired in the long-term disease duration, in the process of surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and biology disturbing; it is clear that the clinical manifestations are related to six chinese medicine patterns： decreased functioning of the Pi （Spleen） and Wei （Stomach）, deficiency of the Pi with dampness retention, deficiency of the Xin （Heart） and Pi, disharmony between the Gan （Liver） and Pi, deficiency of the Pi and Shen （Kidney）, and deficiency of the Fei （Lung） and Shen. Based on its severity, the mild patients are advised to have non-drug psychological intervention and sleep treatment in cooperation with appropriate exercise; diet therapy are recommended to moderate patients together with sleep treatment and acupuncture, severe patients are recommended to have herbal treatment based on pattern differentiation together with physiological sleep therapy.

Influence of Sanao Tang on urine volume and expression of aquaporin 2 in rats with respiratory function impairment induced by passive smoking and lipopolysaccharide

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Sanao Tang(SAT) on urine volume and the expression of aquaporin-2(AQP2) in rats with lung dysfunction induced by passive smoking and ***: Totally 45 healthy Specific pathogen Free Wistar Rats were randomized into 3 groups:normal control group, model group and SAT group.A rat model of respiratory dysfunction induced by exposure to cigarette smoking and lipopolysaccharide(LPS). Lavage of decoction of the chinese medicine was performed for rats in the SAT group. Anires 2005 System was used to analyze the pulmonary function. Urine of rats was collected through metabolism cage method. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was used to determine content of antidiuretic hormone(ADH), angiotensin Ⅱ(AngⅡ), atrial natriuretic factor(ANP), endothelin 1(ET-1), nitric oxide(NO) and prostaglandin E2(PGE2) in serum, lung and kidney. The expression of AQP2 in rat renal tissue was determined with real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(RT-PCR).RESULTS:(a) In comparison with the normal control, It was found that enforced vital capacity(FVC),1-second forced expiratory volume/forced vital capacity%(FEV1/FVC%), 24 h urine volume content of NO and PGE2 were decreased, while AQP2 m RNA level and content of ADH, Agn Ⅱ, ANP and ET-1were increased in the model group with statistical significance(P traditional chinese medicine.

BACKGROUND： The change in expression of synaptophysin （Syp） and postsynaptic density-95 （PSD-95） alters after cerebral infarction, and the plasticity of synapses contributes greatly to nerve function recovery. chinese medicinal substances may play an important role in the expression of Syp and PSD-95. OBJECTIVE： To observe the effect of Panaxtriol Saponins （PTS）, an active component in Sanqi tongshu capsules, on the expression of Syp and PSD-95 after cerebral infarction at different time points in rats, so as to examine the cerebral function remodeling mechanism. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： A randomized and controlled observation which was performed in Dongzhimen Hospital, beijing University of traditional chinese medicine from January to March, 2007. MATERIALS： Twenty-six healthy male Sprague Dawley rats were used to establish middle cerebral artery occlusion based on the Longa method. Sanqi tongshu capsules （containing 100 mg PTS per tablet） were provided by the Chengdu Huashen Group and nimodipine tablets （30 mg） by Tianjin Zhongyang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. METHODS： Twenty-six rats were randomly divided into an operation group （n = 21 ） and a control group （n = 5）. The operation group underwent the EZ Longa procedure to make the middle cerebral artery occlusion model. After surgery rats were randomly divided into a model group, a PTS group and a nimodipine group, with seven rats in each group. Rats were intragastrically administrated with saline （2 mL/d） in the model group, with Sanqi tongshu capsule （5.4 mg/100 g/d） in the PTS group, and with nimodipine （1.73 mg/100 g/d） in the nimodipine group. Rats in the control group did not undergo model establishment and drug administration. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： The expressions of Syp and PSD-95 were measured by immunohistochemical and image analysis at days 3, 7 and 28 after the operation. Yi-Qi-Huo-Xue Decoction(YQHX)is the recombination of Dang-Gui-Bu-Xue Decoction(DBD),which is one of the well-known traditional chinese medicine(TCM)prescription,and has long been shown to have significant protective effects against myocardial ischemic *** previous studies,we found that YQHX could regulate lipid and glucose metabolism,promote angiogenesis,attenuate inflammatory response,and ameliorate left ventricular function in myocardial ischemia rat ***,the underlying mechanism of how YQHX involves in lipid metabolism remains unclear so *** this study,the underlying mechanism of YQHX in lipid metabolism disorders was elucidated in a myocardial ischemia rat model and a hypoxia-induced H9 c2 cell injury ***(8.2 g·kg-1)and positive-control drug trimetazidine(10 mg·kg-1)were administered daily on the second day after left anterior descending(LAD)*** 7 days and 28 days after surgery,changes of cardiac morphology,structure,and function were evaluated by H&E staining and echocardiography,*** plasma lipid levels and mitochondrial ATP content were also *** blot and RT-PCR were used to determine the protein and mRNA expressions of AMPK,PGC-1α,CPT-1α,and PPARα.YQHX improved cardiac function and ameliorated lipid metabolism ***,YQHX increased the expression of p-AMPK,PGC-1α,and CPT-1αwithout changing PPARαin ischemic rat *** vitro,YQHX activated the protein and mRNA expression of PGC-1α,CPT-1α,and PPARαin hypoxia-induced H9 c2 cells injury,whereas AMPK inhibitor Compound c blocked the effects of *** together,the results suggest that YQHX reduces lipid metabolism disorders in myocardial ischemia via the AMPK-dependent signaling pathway.

A new tdterpenoid glycoside, 3-β-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl presenegenin 28-O-α-L-arabipyranosyl（1 → 3）-6-β- xylopyranosyl（1 → 4）-[β-D-apiofuranosyl（1 → 3）]-Ct-L-rhamnopyranosyl（1 → 2）-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl（1 → 3）]-β-D-fucopyranosyl ester （1） was isolated from the Polygala tenuifolia Willd., together with two known saponins, including polygalasaponinXXIV （2） and polygalasaponinXXVIII （3）. The structure of new compound was elucidated by spectroscopic methods.

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effects of moxibustion for chronic cough in children. Methods: 68 child cases of chronic cough were treated by moxibustion. Results: 54 cases were cured, 13 cases improved, and one case failed. The cure rate was 79.2%, with a total effective rate of 98.5%. Conclusion: The moxibustion therapy has definite therapeutic effect for children chronic cough.
