Oligodendroglial heterogeneity in health,disease,and recovery:deeper insights into myelin dynamics

Decades of research asserted that the oligodendroglial lineage comprises two cell types:oligodendrocyte precursor cells and ***,recent studies employing single-cell RNA sequencing techniques have uncovered novel cell states,prompting a revision of the existing *** forward,the oligodendroglial lineage should be delineated into five distinct cell states:oligodendrocyte precursor cells,committed oligodendrocyte precursor cells,newly formed oligodendrocytes,myelin-forming oligodendrocytes,and mature *** new classification system enables a deeper understanding of the oligodendroglia in both physiological and pathological *** this uniform terminology will facilitate comparison and integration of data across ***,including the consolidation of findings from various demyelinating models,is essential to better understand the pathogenesis of demyelinating ***,comparing injury models across species with varying regenerative capacities can provide insights that may lead to new therapeutic strategies to overcome remyelination ***,by standardizing terminology and synthesizing data from diverse studies across different animal models,we can enhance our understanding of myelin pathology in central nervous system disorders such as multiple sclerosis,Alzheimer's disease,and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,all of which involve oligodendroglial and myelin dysfunction.

Study of plasma parameters of coaxial plasma source using triple Langmuir probe and Faraday cup diagnostics

Coaxial plasma guns are a type of plasma source that produces plasma which propagates radially and axially controlled by the shape of the ground electrode, which has attracted much interest in several applications. In this work, a 120° opening angle of CPG nozzle is used as a plasma gun configuration that operates at the energy of 150 J. The ionization of polyethylene insulator between the electrodes of the gun produces a cloud of hydrogen and carbon *** triple Langmuir probe and Faraday cup are used to measure plasma density and plasma temperature. These methods are used to measure the on-axis and off-axis plasma divergence of the coaxial plasma gun. The peak values of ion densities measured at a distance of 25 mm on-axis from the plasma gun are(1.6±0.5)×10^(19)m^(-3)and(2.8±0.6)×10^(19)m^(-3)for hydrogen and carbon plasma respectively and the peak temperature is 3.02±0.5 eV. The mean propagation velocity of plasma is calculated using the transit times of plasma at different distances from the plasma gun and is found to be 4.54±0.25 cm/μs and 1.81±0.18 cm/μs for hydrogen and carbon plasma respectively. The Debye radius is obtained from the measured experimental data that satisfies the thin sheath approximation. The shot-to-shot stability of plasma parameters facilitates the use of plasma guns in laboratory experiments. These types of plasma sources can be used in many applications like plasma opening switches, plasma devices, and as plasma sources.

Evaluation of forming limit in viscous pressure forming of automotive aluminum alloy 6k21-T4 sheet

A ductile fracture criterion is introduced into numerical simulation to predict viscous pressure forming limit of the automotive body aluminum alloy 6k21-T4. The material constant in the ductile fracture criterion is determined by the combination of the viscous pressure bulging (VPB) test with numerical simulation. VPB tests of the aluminum alloy sheet are carried out by using various elliptical dies with different ratios of major axis to minor axis(β), and the bugling processes are simulated by the aid of the finite element method software LS-DYNA3D. On the basis of the stress and strain calculated from numerical simulations, the forming limits of bulging specimens obtained are predicted by the ductile fracture criterion, and compared with experimental results. The fracture initiation site and the minimal thickness predicted by the ductile fracture criterion are in good agreement with the experimental results.

In this work,the thermodynamic,mechanical properties and electronic behaviors of D022-TiAl3 doped with W and 15 groupⅣM(M=C,Ge,Pb,Si and Sn)dopants are investigated by DFT *** established that ductility can be improved using multi-doping approach and revealed the mechanisms behind such brittle-to-ductile *** addition,it is found that there is linearity between changes in Young’s modulus and tensile/compre s sive strain *** alternate insight into brittle-to-ductile transition during ductile mode cutting of brittle materials is proposed.

Effect of Mo on High-Temperature Fatigue Behavior of 15CrNbTi Ferritic Stainless Steel

In order to understand the effect of Mo element on the high-temperature fatigue behavior of 15CrNbTi ferritic stainless steel, the stress-controlled fatigue tests have been performed for both 15CrNbTi and 15Cr0.5MoNbTi ferritic stainless steels at 800 ℃ in laboratory air. The fatigue test results indicate that the fatigue resistance of 15Cr0.5MoNbTi steel is manifestly higher than that of 15CrNbTi steel at the maximum stress below 57 MPa; the 15Cr0.5MoNbTi steel possesses a fatigue limit of 35 MPa, which is higher than that of 15CrNbTi steel. The TEM observations reveal that the Mo element can suppress the formation of coarsened Fe3Nb3C precipitates and result in the fatigue resistance enhancement. The dislocation networks formed during the cyclic load favor to improve the fatigue resistance of 15Cr0.5MoNbTi steel at 800 ℃.

Reliability design optimization of composite structures based on PSO together with FEA

The present work aims to develop a method for reliability-based optimum design of composite structures. A procedure combining particle swarm optimization （PSO） and finite element analysis （FEA） has been proposed. Numerical examples for the reliability design optimization （RDO） of a laminate and a composite cylindrical shell are worked out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method. Then a design for composite pressure vessels is studied. The advantages and necessity of RDO over the conventional equi-strength design are addressed. Examples show that the proposed method has good stability and is efficient in dealing with the probabilistic optimal design of composite structures. It may serve as an effective tool to optimize other complicated structures with uncertainties.

The effect of the cooling slope on the structure of Zr-based metallic glass matrix composites was investigated by changing the cooling *** synthesis of bulk metallic glass composites was made by a process combining cooling slope casting and Cu mold casting for Zr66.4Nb6.4Cu10.5Ni8.7Al8 *** results show that the semisolid slurry which consists of the spheroidal or rosette-type BCC crystals and the liquid phase which forms metallic glass phase can be formed by the cooling slope process in this alloy ***,the semisolid slurry cannot reach to the *** is considered that higher viscosity of the liquid phase which forms metallic glass phase causes this ***,parameters of the cooling slope have to be examined further.

In situ measured growth rates of bainite plates in an Fe-C-Mn-Si superbainitic steel

The growth rates of bainite plates in an Fe-C-Mn-Si superbainitie steel were investigated by in situ observation. The lengthening rates of ferrite bainite during both cooling and isothermal holding processes were observed and the growth rates of bainite plates nucleating at grain boundaries, within grains and on preformed bainite were measured. It is indicated that the lengthening rates of bainite plates during the cooling and isothermal processes were different, and that the growth rates of bainite plates nucleating at different types of sites also demon- strated diversity. The bainite plates initiating at [vain boundaries during cooling grew the fastest, while the plates nucleating on preformed bainite did the slowest. However, the growth rate of the bainite plates nucleating at grain boundaries during isothermal transformation de- creased the most, whereas the bainite plates initiating within grains grew the fastest. In addition, the growth rate of ferrite bainite in the study supported the diffusion transformation mechanism of bainite from the viewooint of ~rowth rate.

Effect of Cerium on High-Temperature Oxidation Resistance of 00Cr17NbTi Ferritic Stainless Steel

The influence of cerium addition on the isothermal oxidation behavior of 00Cr17NbTi ferritic stainless steel was studied at temperature up to 1,000 ℃ for 100 h in air. The results show that cerium additions can reduce the grain size of this ferritic stainless steel, improve the diffusion of chromium and decrease the critical concentration of chromium to form protective Cr2O3 layer. With the increasing of cerium addition, the oxide particles become smaller and this can increase the rupture strength and spalling resistance of oxide layers. The transport mechanism through the oxide layer is varied from metal transport outward from steel to principally oxygen transport inward with the increase of cerium content, which leads to the lower oxidation rate and the better scale adherence of 00Cr17NbTi ferritic stainless steel.

Influence of Residual Stress on Shape of Heavy-gauge,High-strength Steel Caused by Cooling Process after Hot Rolling

The cooling process following hot rolling has a significant effect on the shape quality of a hot-rolled *** temperature and stress fields in the cooling process for a 14 mm thick strip with yield strength of 500 MPa grade were analyzed by the finite element method and actual test data,and the relationship between residual stress and shape defects was ***,the small-crown rolling process and the coil slow cooling process were *** results indicate that these processes improved the shape quality of the final product significantly.
