Role of iron ore in enhancing gasification of iron coke:Structural evolution,influence mechanism and kinetic analysis

The utilization of iron coke provides a green pathway for low-carbon *** uncover the influence mechanism of iron ore on the behavior and kinetics of iron coke gasification,the effect of iron ore on the microstructure of iron coke was ***,a comparative study of the gasification reactions between iron coke and coke was conducted through non-isothermal thermogravimetric *** findings indicate that compared to coke,iron coke exhibits an augmentation in micropores and specific surface area,and the micropores further extend and *** provides more adsorption sites for co_(2) molecules during the gasification process,resulting in a reduction in the initial gasification temperature of iron *** the heating rate in non-isothermal gasification can enhance the reactivity of iron *** metallic iron reduced from iron ore is embedded in the carbon matrix,reducing the orderliness of the carbon structure,which is primarily responsible for the heightened reactivity of the carbon *** kinetic study indicates that the random pore model can effectively represent the gasification process of iron coke due to its rich pore ***,as the proportion of iron ore increases,the activation energy for the carbon gasification gradually decreases,from 246.2 kJ/mol for coke to 192.5 kJ/mol for iron coke 15wt%.

Interfacial heat transfer is a key issue in many solidification *** the paper,a novel experimental apparatus has been designed and on this basis,the instantaneous interfacial heat transfer between molten steel or solidified shell and copper substrate during the first 0.2 s has been *** investigated parameters include melt superheat,substrate temperature and surface *** results show that the peak value of the interfacial heat flux in the first stage of liquid/solid contact increases with melt superheat and changes slightly with substrate temperature and surface *** interfacial heat flux in the stage of solid/solid contact has a similar trend of slow decrease in most conditions.

For many rapid or near-rapid solidification processes, the interracial heat transfer between the melt and the substrate is a key issue on the cooling and solidification rate of castings. For the purpose of controlling and adjusting of the interfacial thermal resistance, the effects of C/BN, Zn and organic coatings on the instantaneous interracial heat flux and the solidified structure of AISI304 stainless steel solidification on copper substrate have been investiga- ted by using an experimental simulator. The results show that C/BN coatings can improve the uniformity of heat flux and solidified structure; Zn coating can increase the heat flux and solidification rate in the growth stage of the solidified shell; organic coating will decrease the heat flux and the solidification rate and make re-melted structure on the surface of the solidified shell.

At present,rare earth application in wastewater treatment has become more and more widely,according to the fact that the Ce(IV) has the strong oxidation ability under acid condition,we have studied the application of Ce(IV) in industrial wastewater treatment *** showed that oxidation-reduction reaction occurred between Ce(IV) and the organic compounds or other reducing substances in industrial wastewater,thereby the colority and coDcr reduced ***(IV) formed [Ce(OH)x·nH2O](4-x)+ after hydrolyzation and Ce(III) obtained after Ce(IV) reduction formed [Ce(OH)x·nH2O](3-x)+ after hydrolyzation,these hydrate had big specific surface area,could adsorb the suspension substances and removed toxic or harmful ions in industrial *** treatment by Ce(IV),the analytical results of industrial wastewater are as follows:The coDcr became 58 mg/L from 1646 mg/L,the total coD removal efficiency was more than 95.0%.Turbidity reduced to no more than 10NTU from *** chroma became 6 degree from 26 degree,suspension substances content decreased to no more than 2 mg/L from 36 mg/L,and total arsenic and fluorion became <0.05 mg/L and <0.10 mg/L from 0.60 and 15.3 mg/*** cadmium reduced to 0.01 mg/L from the 0.58 mg/*** all indicated that Ce(IV) was one kind of latent good water treatment chemical.

The intergranular corrosion （IGC） character of tin-added B316LX and the influence of tin addition on IGC susceptibility were investigated by DL-EPR, oxalic acid etch test and transmission electron microscopy. IGC susceptibility of B316LX is mainly caused by the precipitation of M23C6 carbide and intermetallic Laves phase. DL-EPR test is unsuitable to evaluate the IGC susceptibility of B316LX with long-time sensitization, because more carbides and inter- metallic phases are formed at grain boundaries and inside the grains, which induce more severe IGC and pits attacks. Tin addition increases the IGC susceptibility, maybe due to diffusion of tin toward grain boundaries.

In order to investigate the high-temperature fatigue and fatigue-creep behavior of 15CrNbTi ferritic stainless steel at 800°C,fatigue tests without holding time in laboratory air and with 10 s holding time induced at maximum cyclic stress under argon atmosphere were conducted on an electrohydraulic servo fatigue testing *** addition,the morphologies of fatigue fracture surfaces were observed,and the precipitates and dislocation substructures were *** experimental results show that the fatigue limit of 15CrNbTi ferritic stainless steel is 30 MPa at 800°*** fatigue life of the experimental steel obviously decreases if holding time of 10 s is introduced at maximum cyclic *** two test conditions,the fatigue cracks transgranularly initiate at the free surface of fatigue specimens and then propagate in a transgranular *** is dem on strated that three kinds of precipitates inclu ding(Nb,Ti)C phase,Fe2Nb phase and Fe3Nb3C phase can be observed in 15CrNbTi ferritic stainless steel,and the Fe2Nb and Fe3Nb3C phases are mainly precipitated during the fatigue *** the fatigue deformation area,both dislocation tangles and dislocation arrays are ***,the sub-grains which form during the cycling deformation with holding time of 10 s are also ***,the formation of sub-grains leads to the deterioration of the fatigue life of 15CrNbTi steel.

Effects of alloy elements Cr, W, Ce, and Si on oxidation behavior at 750℃ in air and stress-rupture properties of P92 steel have been investigated. The proper increase in elements Cr, W, and Ce improved to varying degrees both oxidation resistance by either facilitating more protective Cr2O3 or modifying surface morphologies and stress-rupture life largely attributed to the formation of fine Laves phase. The excessive addition of Si significantly improved oxidation resistance of P92 steel, but dramatically impaired the stress-rupture life due to the formation and coarsening of Laves phase. The results indicate that proper additions of Cr, W, and Ce are beneficial for the comprehensive property of P92 steel.

Sintering characteristics of fluxes and their structure optimization

Sintering characteristics of common fluxes and sintering blending ores, such as mineralization capacity, liquid generation capacity, consolidation strength, were examined to master the behavior and effect of fluxes in sintering. Based on fundamental studies, sinter pot tests were carried out to obtain the principles of optimizing the sinter flux structure. The results showed that strong mineralization capacity, liquid phase generation capacity, and consolidation strength were obtained as sintering blending ores combined with the calcareous flux, while rela-tively poor sintering characteristics were obtained as sintering blending ores combined with the magnesian flux. High reactive quicklime should be used as much as possible in the sintering mixture. It reached better sintering results while quicklime was used instead of limestone and its appropriate proportion in the sintering mixture was around 4wt%. On the premise of ensuring the MgO content, the dolomite amount should be decreased, and the substitution of quicklime for dolomite caused better sintering results. The granularity of serpentine should be re-fined with a proper size smaller than 2 mm. The application of the divided addition method brought the best sintering performance with 30wt% of quicklime and 70wt% of fuel.
