Objective:To analyze the factors related to vessel vasovagal reaction(VVR)in apheresis donors,establish a mathematical model for predicting the correlation factors and occurrence risk,and use the prediction model to intervene in high-risk VVR blood donors,improve the blood donation experience,and retain blood ***:A total of 316 blood donors from the Xi'an Central blood bank from June to September 2022 were selected to statistically analyze VVR-related factors.A BP neural network prediction model is established with relevant factors as input and DRVR risk as ***:First-time blood donors had a high risk of VVR,female risk was high,and sex difference was significant(P valueblood pressure before donation and intergroup differences were also significant(P valueblood donors,women,and relatively low blood pressure are all high-risk groups for *** BP neural network prediction model established in this paper has certain prediction accuracy and can be used as a means to evaluate the risk degree of clinical blood donors.

Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is the most prevalent autoimmune sub-epidermal blistering disease that affects mainly the elderly and could lead to serious morbidity. It has numerous risk factors and triggers, including an aging population with several comorbidities and drug exposure. In the published paper, we reported a case about a 32 years old male patient with unknown medical conditions who presented with erythematous patches and plaques on the scalp, face, and trunk with scattered blisters two weeks after initiating doxycycline treatment for folliculitis. The exact pathogenesis of the drug-reaction in drug- associated bullous pemphigoid (DABP) remains controversial. In conclusion, it is crucial for clinicians to be aware of DABP when prescribing doxycycline. The purpose of this case report is to raise awareness of the possible association between bullous pemphigoid and doxycycline.

Introduction: While autograft bone is the gold standard for multilevel posterolateral lumbar fusion, bone substitutes and graft extenders such as allograft bone, ceramics and demineralized bone matrix (DBM) have been used to avoid the morbidity and insufficient quantity associated with harvesting autologous bone. The primary objective of this retrospective study was to determine whether, in patients with increased risk of operative nonunion related to multilevel fusion, adding DBM fibers to mineralized bone allograft resulted in better fusion than using allograft alone. The secondary objectives were to evaluate how adding DBM fibers affects functional disability, low back pain, intraoperative blood loss and the nonunion rate. Methods: This retrospective study involved a chart review of consecutive patients who underwent multilevel lumbar spinal fusion and were operated on by a single surgeon. The patients were divided into two groups: 14 patients received mineralized bone allograft (control group) and 14 patients received a combination of mineralized bone allograft and DBM (experimental group). Patients were reviewed at a mean of 16.4 ± 2.2 months after surgery at which point CT scans were analyzed to determine whether fusion had occurred;Oswestry disability index (ODI) and pain were also evaluated. Results: A mean of 5 levels [min 2, max 13] were fused in these patients. Posterolateral fusion as defined by the Lenke classification was not significantly different between groups. The experimental DBM group had a significantly better composite fusion score than the control group (P Discussion: Adding DBM fibers to allograft bone during multilevel posterolateral spinal fusion was safe and produced better composite fusion than using allograft only as an autograft extender.

HLA-A, B typing was studied on 100 unrelatedGraves’ disease patients of Han Nationality in Hang-zhou. 100 healthy donors served as controls. A marked increase in the frequency of HLA-Aantigen was observed in patients with Graves’ diseasewhich was consistant and significantly differentfrom the normal, even after correction. This showeda close association between HLA-Aand Graves’disease. The frequency of Bantigen tended todecrease in patients with Graves’ disease as com-pared with the controls after correction. A negativecorrelation was found between HLA-Band Graves’disease.

Coagulation factor Ⅷ and antithrombin Ⅲ activity were detected in 15 health donors. It was found that antithrombin Ⅲ activity decreased obviously 12 h after blood drawing. It lost 56 % of the activity at the 3rd day, and 70 % of the activity at the 7th day. FⅧ:c showed no obvious change after 24 h, until the 3rd day. It lost 40 %-60 % of the activity after 36 h and was reduced to the 30 % of the original activity at the 5th day. Our results suggested that at the 3rd day coagulation factor Ⅷ of bank stored blood can be used to replenish antithrombin Ⅲ, while bank stored blood in one day can be used to replenish FⅧ.

To the Editor:With the development of clinical research and the application of cord blood,the clinical value of umbilical cord blood(UCB)has drawn more and more *** has been increasingly applied to treatments of hematological diseases,autoimmune diseases,and malignant tumors in children and adults[1]and has achieved high overall survival.[1–3]UCB contains substantial amounts of various stem cells,including hematopoietic stem cells(HSC),mesenchymal stem cells,endothelial progenitor cells,and so on[4];among them,HSC are most widely used in study and clinical ***,where UCB HSC are implanted into patients,requires ruining the immune system and hematopoietic system before the *** therapeutic method is UCB infusion,where UCB is regarded as a nutrient,to improve the outcome of peripheral blood HSC transplantation[5]or symptoms via paracrine pathway of UCB stem cells.[6]In addition to the application of allogeneic UCB,autologous UCB has also been used in clinical treatment *** UCB is not limited to treating hemopathy,but also used to treat non-genetic metabolic disease,immune disease,and nervous system injury.[6]
