Hearing loss is the third leading cause of human ***-related hearing loss,one type of acquired sensorineural hearing loss,is largely responsible for this escalating global health ***-induced,ototoxic,and idiopathic sudden sensorineural are other less common types of acquired hearing *** etiology of these conditions is complex and multi-fa ctorial involving an interplay of genetic and environmental *** stress has recently been proposed as a likely linking cause in most types of acquired sensorineural hearing *** non-coding RNA sequences known as microRNAs(miRNAs)have increasingly been shown to play a role in cellular hypoxia and oxidative stress responses including promoting an apoptotic *** hair cell death is a central histopathological finding in sensorineural hearing *** these cells do not regenerate in humans,it underlies the irreversibility of human age-related hearing *** EMBASE,Ovid MEDLINE,Web of Science Core Collection,and *** databases over the period August 1,2018 to July 31,2023 were searched with"hearing loss,""hypoxamiRs,""hypoxia,""microRNAs,""ischemia,"and"oxidative stress"text words for English language primary study publications or registered clinical *** red clinical trials known to the senior author we re also assessed.A total of 222studies were thus *** excluding duplicates,editorials,retra ctions,secondary research studies,and non-English language articles,39 primary studies and clinical trials underwent full-text *** resulted in 11 animal,in vitro,and/or human subject journal articles and 8 registered clinical trial database entries which form the basis of this narrative *** miR-34a and miR-29b levels increase with age in *** miRNAs were demonstrated in human neuroblastoma and murine cochlear cell lines to target Sirtuin 1/peroxisome proliferato r-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1-alpha(SIRT1/P GC-1α),SIRT

Machine learning(ML)is a type of artificial intelligence that assists computers in the acquisition of knowledge through data analysis,thus creating machines that can complete tasks otherwise requiring human *** its various applications,it has proven groundbreaking in healthcare as well,both in clinical practice and *** this editorial,we succinctly introduce ML applications and present a study,featured in the latest issue of the World Journal of Clinical *** authors of this study conducted an analysis using both multiple linear regression(MLR)and ML methods to investigate the significant factors that may impact the estimated glomerular filtration rate in healthy women with and without non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Their results implicated age as the most important determining factor in both groups,followed by lactic dehydrogenase,uric acid,forced expiratory volume in one second,and *** addition,for the NAFLD-group,the 5th and 6th most important impact factors were thyroid-stimulating hormone and systolic blood pressure,as compared to plasma calcium and body fat for the NAFLD+***,the study's distinctive contribution lies in its adoption of ML methodologies,showcasing their superiority over traditional statistical approaches(herein MLR),thereby highlighting the potential of ML to represent an invaluable advanced adjunct tool in clinical practice and research.

The World Health Organization(WHO) called the recent monkeypox(MPX)outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on July 23,*** United States of America(US) alarmed the recent MPX outbreak as the US public health emergency on August 4,*** early May 2022,more than 35000 MPX cases and 12 deaths had been reported to WHO from 92 countries and territories by August 17,2022,and MPX cases continue rising rapidly with improved surveillance,access to diagnosis,and continuous virus spreading *** 99% MPX cases are men,of which 95% cases are men who have sex with *** evidence of MPX being sexually transmitted infections(STIs) is found;however,a high percentage(25%) of concurrent STIs and frequent anogenital symptoms suggest transmission through local inoculation during close intimate contact or sexual *** approaches including a comprehensive international vaccination strategy and adequate supplies are mandatory to prevent MPX ***,vaccination,MPX scrutiny and careful monitoring,and crossborder collaborations with international sectors are practical strategy to contain MPX *** are educated to reduce the risk of exposure and to reduce the number of sexual partners especially new ones,to avoid contacting travelers from epidemic regions or animals that may carry MPX virus,and avoid traveling to endemic areas.

A Formation Reconfiguration Algorithm for Multi-UAVs Based on Distributed Cooperative Coevolutionary with an Adaptive Grouping Strategy

The Formation reconfiguration problem plays a crucial role in the implementation of complex tasks for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles, which attracted increasing attention in the past decade. Taking into consideration the control parameters and time discretization of the multi-UAVs in the 3 Dimensional(3-D) space, the formation reconfiguration problem can be formulated as a large-scale combinatorial optimization problem with complex constraints and tight couplings between variables. The problem results in the reduction in efficiency and effectiveness using classic bio-inspired algorithms. In this paper, a formation reconfiguration method based on cooperative coevolutionary algorithm is proposed along with a new decomposition strategy to improve the optimization capability and prevent premature convergence. In the proposed approach, variables of multi-UAV are divided into several sub-groups based on an adaptive grouping strategy. The proposed strategy groups the variables in order to better deal with the tight coupling among them, taking into account the variables’ variance and multi-UAVs characteristics of the formation reconfiguration problem. Therefore, each subgroup can adopt the Self-adaptive differential evolution strategy with neighborhood search(SaNSDE) with the aim to optimize the UAV’s control inputs using multithreaded programming. SaNSDE contributes to calculating the results in a fully distributed and paralleled *** solution is then obtained through cooperation and coordination with all subcomponents. Simulation results based on extreme scenarios adopted by previous researches demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperformed the existing approaches including Particle swarm optimization(PSO), Differential evolution(DE),and the cooperative coevolution algorithms with different well-known grouping strategies.
