Novel Primate Bocaparvovirus Species 3 Identified in Wild Macaca Mulatta in China

Primate bocaparvovirus(BOV) is a possible cause of respiratory disorders and gastroenteritis in humans. However, the diversity and evolution of these viruses remain largely unknown, despite the identification of a growing number of BOVs in non-human primates(NHPs). Here, we report the identification of a novel BOV(provisionally named Macaca mulatta bocaparvovirus [MmBOV]) in the feces of wild Macaca mulatta in China by viral metagenomic analysis. Seven of 400 fecal samples from Macaca mulatta were positive for MmBOV. An almost complete genome sequence of 4,831 nucleotides was obtained, which had genomic organization and protein motifs similar to human bocaviruses(HOBVs), and shared characteristically low G/C content and weak codon usage bias. Sequence analyses of NS1, NP1, and VP1 revealed that Mm BOV was most closely related to HBOV4 of Primate bocaparvovirus 2(approximately 68.4%/70.6%, 73.3%/67.6%, and 70.4%/73.1% nucleotide/amino acid identities, respectively). Additionally, phylogenetic analysis revealed that Mm BOV formed an independent peripheral branch, but clustered closely with those of the Primate bocaparvovirus species in the BOV genus(particularly HBOV4). These data strongly suggest that HBOV4 originated from NHP bocaparvoviruses around 200–300 years ago, and that NHPs may act as HBOV reservoirs. Following the International Committee of Taxonomy for Viruses guidelines, we propose Mm BOV as a new species(tentatively named Primate bocaparvovirus 3) in the genus Bocaparvovirus, which is the first report of a novel species of primate BOV. Our data facilitate future research on the genetic diversity and evolution of primate bocaparvoviruses and highlight the importance of bocaparvovirus surveys in wild NHPs.

Objective Antimicrobial resistance(AMR)has become a global concern and is especially severe in *** effectively and reliably provide AMR data,we developed a new high-throughput real-time PCR assay based on microfluidic dynamic technology,and screened multiple AMR genes in broiler fecal *** A high-throughput real-time PCR system with an new designed integrated fluidic circuit assay were performed AMR gene detection.A total of 273 broiler fecal samples collected from two geographically separated farms were screened AMR *** The new assay with limits of detection ranging from 40.9 to 8,000 copies/*** sensitivity rate,specificity rate,positive predictive value,negative predictive value and correct indices were 99.30%,98.08%,95.31%,99.79%,and 0.9755,*** this assay,we demonstrate that AMR genes are widely spread,with positive detection rates ranging from 0 to 97.07%in 273 broiler fecal *** CTX-M,bla TEM,mcr-1,fex A,cfr,optr A,and int I1 showed over 80%*** dissemination of AMR genes was distinct between the two *** We successfully established a new high-throughput real-time PCR assay applicable to AMR gene surveillance from fecal *** widespread existence of AMR genes detected in broiler farms highlights the current and severe problem of AMR.

During the early mid-1990s, a number of rural farmers across central China were employed to the unregulated plasma- selling-activity and many of them were infected by HIV-1. However, AIDS progression in the former blood donors （FBDs） is various. The aim of this study is to assess human leukocyte antigen （HLA） class I allele distribution in FBDs and evaluate its association with HIV-1 infection and disease progression. A total of 353 FBDs were enrolled in the cohort including 294 ART na＇fve HIV-1 seropositive and 59 HIV-1 seronegative age-matched subjects. The viral load and CD4/CD8 T cell counts were assessed in all subjects. Compared with HIV-seropositive group, the frequency of HLA-A＊03 in control was significantly higher. After classifying the HLA-B alleles of the subjects according to the presence of Bw4/Bw6 serological epitopes, detri- mental effect of HLA Bw6/Bw6 homozygosity was also confirmed in the HIV-seropositive subjects. This study provides nov- el evidence on HLA class I allele distribution and association of HLA-A＊03 frequency with HIV-1 infection and viremia in the HIV-1 infected FBDs, which may throw light on intervention strategy for the HIV-1 infection and our understanding how host immunity and genetic background affect HIV infection and AIDS progression.

Objective This study assesses the impact of iodine-rich processed foods and dining places on the iodine nutritional status of *** School-aged children(SAC) in seven provinces in China were selected by school-based multistage sampling. Urinary iodine, salt iodine, and thyroid volume(TVOL) were determined. Questionnaires were used to investigate dining places and iodine-rich processed foods. The water iodine was from the2017 national survey. Multi-factor regression analysis was used to find correlations between *** Children ate 78.7% of their meals at home, 15.1% at school canteens, and 6.1% at other *** percentage of daily iodine intake from water, iodized salt, iodine-rich processed foods, and cooked food were 1.0%, 79.2%, 1.5%, and 18.4%, respectively. The salt iodine was correlated with the urinary iodine and TVOL, respectively(r = 0.999 and-0.997, P < 0.05). The iodine intake in processed foods was weakly correlated with the TVOL(r = 0.080, P < 0.01). Non-iodized salt used in processed foods or diets when eating out had less effect on children’s iodine nutrition *** Iodized salt remains the primary source of daily iodine intake of SAC, and processed food has less effect on iodine nutrition. Therefore, for children, iodized salt should be a compulsory supplement in their routine diet.
