Background:The Ebola virus disease spread rapidly in West Africa in 2014,leading to the loss of thousands of *** engagement was one of the key strategies to interrupt Ebola transmission,and practical community level measures needed to be explored in the field and tailored to the specific context of ***:First,community-level education on Ebola virus disease(EVD)prevention was launched for the community’s social mobilizers in six districts in Sierra Leone beginning in November ***,from January to May of 2015,in three pilot communities,local trained community members were organized to engage in implementation of EVD prevention and transmission interruption measures,by involving them in alert case report,contact tracing,and social *** epidemiological indicators of transmission interruption in three study communities were ***:A total of 6016 community social mobilizers from 185 wards were trained by holding 279 workshops in the six districts,and EVD message reached an estimated 631680 *** three pilot communities,72 EVD alert cases were reported,with 70.8%of them detected by trained local community members,and 14 EVD cases were finally *** tracing detected 64.3%of EVD *** median duration of community infectivity for the cases was 1 *** secondary attack rate was 4.2%,and no third generation of infection was *** health worker was infected,and no unsafe burial and noncompliance to EVD control measures were *** community-based measures were modeled to reduce 77 EVD cases,and the EVD-free goal was achieved four months earlier in study communities than whole country of Sierra ***: The community-based strategy of social mobilization and community engagement was effective in casedetection and reducing the extent of Ebola transmission in a country with weak health system. Dear editor,Swine major histocompatibility complex(MHC)is a highly polymorphic gene in pigs and is also called swine leukocyte antigen(SLA)(Fan et al.,2018).SLA is divided into three major categories,SLA I(SLA-1,-2,-3),SLA II,and SLA III(Smith et al.,2005).SLA I plays an important role in cellular immunity which can eliminate viruses and other foreign antigens in pigs(Macdonald et al.,2010).SLA-1,SLA-2 and SLA-3 are important SLA I alleles and are highly *** causes extreme difficulties in screening broadly protective cytotoxic lymphocyte(CTL)epitope *** supertype which is built based on peptide-binding specificity of each SLA I can overcome this difficulty to some extent(Thomsen et al.,2013).

Development of a model-based flood emergency management system in Yujiang River Basin, South China

Flooding is the most frequent disaster in China. It affects people＇s lives and properties, causing considerable economic loss. Flood forecast and operation of reservoirs are important in flood emergency management. Although great progress has been achieved in flood forecast and reservoir operation through using computer, network technology, and geographic information system technology in China, the prediction accuracy of models are not satisfactory due to the unavailability of real-time monitoring data. Also, real-time flood control scenario analysis is not effective in many regions and can seldom provide online decision support function. In this research, a decision support system for real-time flood forecasting in Yujiang River Basin, South China （DSS-YRB） is introduced in this paper. This system is based on hydrological and hydraulic mathematical models. The conceptual framework and detailed components of the proposed DSS-YRB is illustrated, which employs real-time rainfall data conversion, model-driven hydrologic forecasting, model calibration, data assimilation methods, and reservoir operational scenario analysis. Multi-tiered architecture offers great flexibility, portability, reusability, and relia- bility. The applied case study results show the development and application of a decision support system for realtime flood forecasting and operation is beneficial for flood control.

Tell health stories comprehensively and accurately: A case study of health edition of People's Daily

Objectives:People increasingly search for health information through the media and make decisions about their health based on these health *** mainstream media,including newspapers,are often the first source for the public to obtain health *** study aims to assess the health stories reported in the health edition of People's Daily in 2019 with four tools of the Media Doctor Toolkit(MDT),which can be an effective tool to evaluate the quality of public health *** on the results,we attempt to address the gap in media coverage in terms of reporting on public health issues,and promote media to display the image of medical staff objectively,both of which can improve relationship of doctors,nurses and ***:A prospective quantitative analysis of the quality of health stories reported in the health edition of People's Daily from 1 February to September 31,2019 was ***-eight articles were collected and divided into four groups according to the MDT *** rating tools were adapted from the MDT to assess the quality of the groups with corresponding ***:Forty-eight unique health stories were assessed with four MDT rating *** mean total satisfactory score was 80%.Health advice had the highest average satisfactory score,84%,compared with health policy group and public health problems and their solutions,at 80%and 77%,*** news group had the lowest score at 73%.Conclusion:This study provides a description of the quality of health stories on People's *** overall quality of People's Daily was fairly good,although there was a wide range of quality between *** health edition of People's Daily covers a wide range of health topics such as new medical methods,doctorpatient relationship,advanced nursing practice,lifestyle change of health promotion *** promote excellence in providing the latest health information,representing medical staff image,resolve the disharmonious fact

Dear editor,Cushing’s disease(CD)is a rare disease manifested as Cushing’s syndrome caused by adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH)consistently over-secreted by adrenocorticotropic adenomas,followed by stimulation of the adrenal gland to secrete considerable cortisol,triggering metabolic dysfunction,and leading to death from ***,pituitary adrenocorticotropic adenoma-directed drugs can only inhibit ACTH secretion or hamper tumour growth,which limits their clinical ***,Nur77(also known as NR4A1 and NGFI-Ba,a kind of nuclear receptor),an important positive transcription regulator of pro-opiomelanocortin(POMC),the precursor of ACTH,has been regarded as a promising CD target.1 Hence,it would be promising to identify a combination treatment that targets Nur77 and another CD target to cover hormone normalisation in the short term and tumour suppression or even elimination in the long term.

Dear editor, A microgravity environment in space, the elasticity of the tether,and complex flexible appendages make the tethered-towing system a nonlinear and underactuated system, which is sensitive and difficult to stabilize. This letter develops a controller based on wave propagation for tethered towing of defunct satellites, and carries out a robustness analysis of the controller via numerical simulation.
