Nanoparticle-enhanced coolants(NPECs)are increasingly used in minimum quantity lubrication(MQL)machining as a green lubricant to replace conventional cutting fluids to meet the urgent need for carbon emissions and achieve sustainable ***,the thermophysical properties of NPEC during processing remain unclear,making it difficult to provide precise guidance and selection principles for industrial ***,this paper reviews the action mechanism,processing properties,and future development directions of ***,the laws of influence of nano-enhanced phases and base fluids on the processing performance are revealed,and the dispersion stabilization mechanism of NPEC in the preparation process is ***,the unique molecular structure and physical properties of NPECs are combined to elucidate their unique mechanisms of heat transfer,penetration,and antifriction ***,the effect of NPECs is investigated on the basis of their excellent lubricating and cooling properties by comprehensively and quantitatively evaluating the material removal characteristics during machining in turning,milling,and grinding *** showed that turning of Ti‒6Al‒4V with multi-walled carbon nanotube NPECs with a volume fraction of 0.2%resulted in a 34%reduction in tool wear,an average decrease in cutting force of 28%,and a 7%decrease in surface roughness Ra,compared with the conventional flood ***,research gaps and future directions for further applications of NPECs in the industry are presented.

＜正＞ A detailed numerical model has been developed to simulate the single straight tube Coriolis flowmeter, which includes all important practical features. The measuring tube is modeled as fluid-tube interaction elements characterized as mass, stiffness and damping matrices based on the theories of fluid-structure interaction and finite element method. Other features, such as the inner and outer cases and the driver spring as in Krohne OPTIMASS flowmeters, are modeled as standard ANSYS beam and shell elements and coupled to the measuring tube. The modal frequency and phase shift from experiments are used to validate the model. In particular, our results show that the modal behaviour of the meter can only be adequately modeled if these practical features are included.

Analyzing undiluted whole human blood is a challenge due to its complex composition of hematopoietic cellular populations,nucleic acids,metabolites,and *** present a novel multi-functional microfluidic acoustic streaming platform that enables sorting,enrichment and in situ identification of cellular subsets from whole *** single device platform,based on lateral cavity acoustic transducers(LCAT),enables(1)the sorting of undiluted donor whole blood into its cellular subsets(platelets,RBCs,and WBCs),(2)the enrichment and retrieval of breast cancer cells(MCF-7)spiked in donor whole blood at rare cell relevant concentrations(10 mL^(−1)),and(3)on-chip immunofluorescent labeling for the detection of specific target cellular populations by their known marker expression *** approach thus demonstrates a compact system that integrates upstream sample processing with downstream separation/enrichment,to carry out multi-parametric cell analysis for blood-based diagnosis and liquid biopsy blood sampling.

Petrochemical storage tanks are generally inspected when the tank is offline mostly to assess the extent of underside corrosion on the tank floor. Emptying, cleaning and opening a tank for inspection take many months and are very expensive. Inspection costs can be reduced significantly by inserting robots through manholes on the tank roof to pertbrm non-destructive testing （NDT）. The challenge is to develop robots that can operate safely in explosive and hazardous environments and measure the thickness of floor plates using ultrasound sensors. This paper reports on the development of a small and inexpensive prototype robot （NDTBOT） which is designed to be intrinsically safe for zone zero operation. The robot ＂hops＂ across the floor to make measurements, without any external moving parts. The paper describes the design, experimental testing of the NDTBOT and presents results of steel plate thickness measurements made under water.

Polyhydroxyalkanoates are natural,biodegradable,thermoplastic and sustainable polymers with a huge potential in fabrication of bioresorbable implantable devices for tissue *** describe a comparative evaluation of three medium chain length polyhydroxyalkanoates(mcl-PHAs),namely poly(3-hydroxyoctanoate),poly(3-hydroxyoctanoate-co-3-hydoxydecanoate)and poly(3-hydroxyoctanoate-co-3-hydroxydecanoate-co-3-hydroxydodecanoate),one short chain length polyhydroxyalkanoate,poly(3-hydroxybutyrate),P(3HB)and synthetic aliphatic polyesters(polycaprolactone and polylactide)with a specific focus on nerve regeneration,due to mechanical properties of mcl-PHAs closely matching nerve *** vitro biological studies with NG108-15 neuronal cell and primary Schwann cells did not show a cytotoxic effect of the materials on both cell *** mcl-PHAs supported cell adhesion and *** the three mcl-PHAs,P(3HO-co-3HD)exhibited superior properties with regards to numbers of cells adhered and viable cells for both cell types,number of neurite extensions from NG108-15 cells,average length of neurite extensions and Schwann ***,similar characteristics were observed for flat P(3HB)surfaces,high rigidity of this biomaterial,and FDA-approved polymers such as PLLA,limits their applications in peripheral nerve ***,we have designed,synthesized and evaluated these materials for nerve tissue engineering and regenerative medicine,the interaction of mcl-PHAs with neuronal and Schwann cells,identifying mcl-PHAs as excellent materials to enhance nerve regeneration and potentially their clinical application in peripheral nerve repair.

BACKGROUND Esophageal cancer is a common type of cancer and serious bleeding from esophageal tumors can occur in routine clinical *** arrest of bleeding from esophageal tumor is not a trivial task,which can sometimes require non-standard *** report a case of successful hemostasis of massive bleeding from esophageal tumor performed by a novel two-balloon catheter inserted endoscopically,with a local hemostatic treatment *** SUMMARY A 36-years old male patient with advanced esophageal cancer developed bleeding from the tumor following endoscopic stenting with a self-expanding metal *** to the ineffectiveness of standard approaches,after a medical conference,the patient was treated with a novel method based on the use of a two-balloon catheter creating an isolated area in esophagus and locally dispersing hemostatic polysaccharide powder inside the isolated *** was successful and subsequent endoscopic examination revealed the presence of organized clot and localized defect,which was coagulated in a planned *** The authors present a new catheter-based method of hemostasis of esophageal tumor bleeding.

The continuous growth in the manufacture of aerospace components such as blisks has led to an increase in the application of different hybrid materials fabricating methods,and thus the requirements for joining and strengthening of dissimilar *** to this goal,selective laser melted(SLM)Inconel718 was joined with forged AD730^(TM)Nickel-based superalloy through linear friction welding(LFW)in this *** variation,specifically with respect to secondary phases precipitation was *** microhardness and strengthening mechanisms of the weldment were also *** precipitation(volume fraction and size of particles)at different regions of both sides of the weld line was *** to the weld line,the dissolution ofγ’/γ"and Laves phases and grain refinement occurred which reveals the effects of both compression strain and high temperature on recrystallization and high degree of elemental diffusion in the weld zone(WZ).It is shown that the size,volume fraction,and shape of secondary phases increased and changed(from spherical to long-striped for Laves particles)as we went from the WZ toward the base ***,the measured microhardness indicated that the strength of AD730^(TM)alloy depends significantly on the grain size,while strength in SLM Inconel 718 was dominated by shape(or size)and the presence of secondary phases(γ’/γ"and Laves).
