BACKGROUND Adult-onset Still's disease(AOSD)is a rare autoinflammatory disease charac-terized by nonspecific symptoms such as fever,rash,sore throat and *** paper reports a clinical case of AOSD successfully treated with Bo’s abdo-minal acupuncture(BAA).CASE SUMMARY We report a 20-year-old man who suffered from cold exposure,presenting with high fever,rash,sore throat,arthralgia,and elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate,leukocytosis with neutrophilic predominance,elevated ferritin,elevated C-reactive protein,and negative rheumatoid *** was diagnosed with AOSD based on the Yamaguchi *** treatment with traditional Chinese medi-cine(TCM)decoction and prednisone acetate tablets,there was some alleviation of sore throat,joint and muscle pain,and fever,but he still had persistent low-grade fever,rash,sore throat and *** went to the TCM acupuncture outpatient department to receive *** acupoints Zhongwan(CV12),Xiawan(CV10),0.5 cm below Xiawan(CV10),Qihai(CV6),Guanyuan(CV4),bilateral Qixue(KI13),bilateral Huaroumen(ST24),bilateral Shangfengshidian(AB1)and bilateral Daheng(SP15)were *** 3 months treatment,all symptoms disappeared,and the laboratory examination returned to normal *** did not take glucocorticoids or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs afterwards,and no relapse was observed during the 3-year follow-up *** BAA can be used as a complementary medical approach for treatment of AOSD.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the possible regulatory mechanism of microRNA(miRNA)in moxibustion treatment for decreased ovarian reserve(DOR).METHODS:The DOR model was constructed by intragastrical Tripterygium glycoside suspension administration,and moxibustion therapy was simultaneously *** morphological ovarian changes were observed by hematoxylin and eosin *** miRNA expression profile was detected by RNA sequencing,and bioinformatics analysis was *** software 3.6.1 was used to establish a regulatory network and differentially expressed miRNAs were verified by reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR).RESULTS:Decreased number of mature follicles,increased atresia follicles,and abnormal granulosa cell morphology were observed in the model group compared with the control *** moxibustion group demonstrated increased mature follicles,decreased atretic follicles,and significantly decreased abnormal morphology of granulosa cells compared with the model ***,RNA sequencing results manifested significantly up-regulated miRNA expressions(miR-92b-3p,miR-26-5p_R+1_1ss10TC,miR-206-3p,miR-9993b-3p_1ss6GA,miR-7857-3p_R-1,miR-219a-2-3p_1ss10GC,miR-3968-p5_1ss10AT,and PC-5p-6478_1795)and down-regulated miR-664-2-5p_R+1 in the model group,compared with the control group,and the moxibustion group reversed abnormal disorder levels of these ***,these differentially expressed miRNAs were mainly involved in the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase/protein kinase B signaling pathway and nuclear factor erythropoietin-2-related factor 2/heme oxygenase 1 signaling ***,network and RT-qPCR verification revealed miR-9993b-3p_1ss6GA as the most critical ***:This experiment proved the effectiveness of moxibustion in improving the ovarian reserve of rats by regulating miRNA expression,especially miR-9993b-3p_1ss6GA.

Wet Cupping Therapy Improves Local Blood Perfusion and Analgesic Effects in Patients with Nerve-Root Type Cervical Spondylosis

Objective： To observe wet cupping therapy（WCT） on local blood perfusion and analgesic effects in patients with nerve-root type cervical spondylosis（NT-CS）. Methods： Fifty-seven NT-CS patients were randomly divided into WCT group and Jiaji acupoint-acupuncture（JA） group according a random number table. WCT group（30 cases） was treated with WCT for 10 min, and JA group（27 cases） was treated with acupuncture for 10 min. The treatment efficacies were evaluated with a Visual Analogue Scale（VAS）. Blood perfusion at Dazhui（GV 14） and Jianjing（GB 21） acupoints（affected side） was observed with a laser speckle flowmetry, and its variations before and after treatment in both groups were compared as well. Results： In both groups, the VAS scores significantly decreased after the intervention（P〈0.01）, while the blood perfusion at the two acupoints significantly increased after intervention（P〈0.05）; however, the increasement magnitude caused by WCT was obvious compared with JA（P〈0.05）. Conclusion： WCT could improve analgesic effects in patients with NT-CS, which might be related to increasing local blood perfusion of acupunct points.

The classic verses of acupuncture and moxibustion are the ancient records of the content of acupuncture and moxibustion in the form of songs, including meridians, acupoints, techniques, clinical treatment, medical cases, etc. About 20 articles among them summarize the valuable clinical experience of ancient famous acupuncturists. The verses are extremely useful. They prescribe a method of treating disease in which very few acupoints are selected (mostly only one, but sometimes two or three points). The point selection is based on the acupuncturists' advanced mastery of acupoint specificity, which practitioners today must learn. Unfortunately, because of the verses' simple expression, it is difficult for modern readers to understand them in depth. As a result, undergraduates majoring in acupuncture and moxibustion are no longer required to study the verses(1,2) This means that modern acupuncturists are unfamiliar with these verses and seldom use them in clinic practice. This greatly limits the application and promotion of the verses.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate changes in gene expression profiles in the hypothalamus related to the effects of acupuncture at the Renying(ST 9) acupoint in spontaneously hypertensive(SH) ***: We randomly divided 18 SH rats into Renying(ST 9) group and model control group, 9 body weight-matched Wistar-Kyoto rats were used as blank controls. acupuncture was performed manually for 20-min daily over 28 d in the Renying(ST 9) group. Rat Gene 2.0 array technology was used for the determination of gene expression profiles and the screened key genes were verified by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) ***: The different groups exhibited differential gene expression: compared with the blank control group, 48 genes were up-regulated and 91 genes were down-regulated in the model group;compared with the model group, 79 genes were up-regulated and 80 genes were down-regulated in Renying(ST 9) group. The RT-PCR results of the key genes including Chi3 l1, Ephx2, Klk1, 5-HT1 A and Cbs were consistent with that of gene chip ***: acupuncture at Renying(ST 9)could significantly lower the blood pressure of SH rats and affect their hypothalamic gene expression profile. Genes associated with the contraction of vascular smooth muscle and the regulation of inflammation, neurotransmitters may be involved in acupuncture's antihypertensive mechanism.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of penetrating moxibustion on migraine without aura(MO)*** Totally 60 MO patients from the acupuncture Clinic of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine were collected from November 2015 to February *** patients were assigned to a treatment group and a control group using a random number table,30 cases in each *** treatment group was treated with penetrating moxibustion,and the control group was treated with mild moxibustion,thrice a week for 4 consecutive *** total effective rate,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores,headache intensity,and Migraine Specific Quality of Life Questionnaire(MSQ)scores of patients after treatment were compared between the two *** moxibustion sensation and reaction after moxibustion were observed,and the adverse reactions were *** patients were followed up at 4 and 16 weeks after *** The total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group(93.33%vs.80.00%,P0.05).Conclusions Penetrating moxibustion can significantly relieve pain and improve quality of life of MO *** penetrating moxibustion,flushing and sweating of patients were obvious,and the curative effect was superior to the mild moxibustion.

OBJECTIVE:To examine whether direct contact moxibustion(DCM)can prevent and treat gastric cancer(GC)by regulating intestinal flora in ***:Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal group,normal+DCM control group,model group,and model+DCM *** cancer rats were induced by N-methyl-N-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine(MNNG,20 mg/mL)by *** the same time,the model rats and normal rats were given DCM at Zusanli(ST36),Weishu(BL21),and Zhongwan(CV12)for 16 *** treatment,gastric tissues were collected to analyze the pathological changes and the apoptosis of gastric mucosa *** addition,the cecal stool was taken and analyzed by 16 s r RNA ***:Gastric cancer-like pathological changes and different abundance of the intestinal flora were found in the model *** promoted mucosa tissue apoptosis and regulated the abnormal changes of the intestinal microflora caused by MNNG;DCM also inhibited the growth of Ruminococcaceae and Prevotellaceae flora and promoted the growth of probiotic ***,DCM made the composition and abundance of intestinal microflora in the GC rats tending to the normal ***:DCM stimulating Zusanli(ST36),Weishu(BL21),and Zhongwan(CV12)promoted the apoptosis of gastric mucosa and delayed the progression of gastric cancer,possibly by decreasing Ruminococcaceae and Prevotellaceae bacteria(bacteria that produce short-chain fatty acids in the intestine)and promoting the growth of probiotic Akkermansia.

The Effects of Electroacupuncture at the Heart Meridian on Myocardial Contractile Function in Rabbits with Myocardial Ischemia

　　Acute myocardial ischemia was induced by intravenous injection of pituitrin, and electroacupuncture (EA) was applied at the Heart and Lung Meridians (HM and LM), 3 points on each meridian. The changes in the left intraventricular pressure (LVP), the maximum rise rate of intraventricular pressure (LVP dp/dtmax), the area of cardiac force loop (ACFL), and the maximum shortening velocity of myocardial contractile element (Vmax) were observed. As a result, there were significant differences in the improvement of LVP, LVP dp/dtmax, ACFL and Vmax between EA at HM and LM. The regulatory action of EA at HM on the myocardial contractile function was significantly better than that of EA at LM, indicating that HM has a close relationship with the myocardial contractile function.……
