Tilia amurensis is an economically valuable broadleaf tree species in Northeast *** production of *** varieties at commercial scales has been greatly limited by the low germination *** thus a pressing need to develop an organogenesis protocol for in vitro propagation of *** to alleviate ashortage of high-quality *** ***,we established a rapid in vitro propagation system *** from mature zygotic embryos and analyzed the effects of plant growth regulators and culture mediain different *** found that Woody plant medium(WPM)was the optimal primary culture medium formature zygotic *** highest callus induction percentage(68.76%)and number of axillary buds induced(3.2)were obtained in WPM+0.89μmol/L 6-benzyladenine(6-BA)+0.46μmol/L kinetin(KT)+0.25μmol/Lindole-3-butryic acid(IBA)+1.44μmol/L gibberellin A_(3)(GA_(3)).The multiple shoot bud development achievedthe highest percentage(83.32%)in the Murashige and Skoog(MS)+2.22μmol/L 6-BA+0.25μmol/L IBA+1.44μmol/L GA_(3).The rooting percentage(96.70%)was highest in 1/2 MS medium+1.48μmol/L *** percentage of transplanting plantlets was 82.22%in soil:vermiculite:perlite(5:3:1).Our study is the firstto establish an effective organogenesis protocol for *** using mature zygotic embryos.

Assessing the iron and steel industry's(ISI)impact on climate change and environmental health is vital,particularly in China,where this sector significantly influences air quality and CO_(2)*** is a lack of comprehensive analyses that consider the environmental and health burdens of manufacturing processes for ISI ***,we present an integrated emission inventory that encompasses air pollutants and CO_(2)emissions from 811 ISI enterprises and five key manufacturing processes in *** analysis shows that sintering is the primary source of air pollution in the *** contributes 71%of SO_(2),73%of NO_(x),and 54%of PM_(2.5)*** the other hand,81%of total CO_(2)emissions come from blast ***,the contributions of ISI have resulted in an increase of 3.6 mg m^(-3)in national population-weighted PM_(2.5)concentration,causing approximately 59,035 premature deaths in *** from Hebei,Jiangsu,Shandong,Shanxi,and Inner Mongolia provinces contributed to 48%of PM_(2.5)-related deaths in ***,the transportation of air pollutants across provincial borders highlights a concerning trend of environmental health *** on the research findings,it is crucial for ISI manufacturers to prioritize the removal of outdated production capacities and adopt energy-efficient and advanced techniques,along with ultra-low emission *** is particularly important for those manufacturers with substantial environmental *** transformative actions are essential in mitigating the environmental and health impacts in the affected regions.

Soil phosphorus fractions and their availability over natural succession from clear-cut of a mixed broadleaved and Korean pine forest in northeast China

To assess phosphorus(P)status of forest soil under naturally restored vegetation,P fractions in the 10-cm soil layer were quantified at different successional stages on the clear-cut site of mixed broadleaved and Korean pine *** communities of shrub,softwood broad-leaved forest,softwood and hardwood broad-leaved forest,and hardwood broad-leaved forest represented different successional stages.A soil sample from a primary broad-leaved and Korean pine stand was the control.A sequential P fractionation scheme extracted empirically defined pools of P and path analysis used to partition the direct and indirect contribution of soil P fractions to available *** results show that available P increased significantly with long-term succession,while both sodium bicarbonate-extractable P(NaHCO_(3)-P)and sodium hydroxide-extractable P(NaOHP)fractions were reduced in early successional stages and increased in late *** to the primary forest,concentrations of P fractions in the four stages significantly decreased except for HCl-P,indicating that soil P supplements over the long-term did not return to primary forest *** results of related analysis also showed that NaHCO_(3)-P_(i)levels were significantly related to available *** to the path analysis coefficient,NaHCO_(3)-P_(i)exhibited the highest effect on available P among eight P fractions;the indirect effects of other P fractions via NaHCO_(3)-P_(i)were larger than those with other P ***,this study suggests that soil P bioavailability gradually improved during natural vegetation restoration on clear-cut sites mainly through the increase of NaHCO_(3)-P,where phosphorous is immediately available,and subsequently available phosphorus Na OH-P.

Calorific values and ash contents of different parts of Masson pine trees in southern China

Calorific value of plants is an important parameter for evalu- ating and indexing material cycles and energy conversion in forest eco- systems. Based on mensuration data of 150 sample sets, we analyzed the calorific value （CV） and ash content （AC） of different parts of Masson pine （Pinus massoniana） trees in southern China using hypothesis testing and regression analysis. CV and AC of different tree parts were almost significantly different （P〈0.05）. In descending order, ash-free calorific value （AFCV） ranked as foliage 〉 branch 〉 stem bark 〉 root 〉 stem wood, and AC ranked as foliage 〉 stem bark 〉 root 〉 branch 〉 stem wood. CV and AC of stem wood from the top, middle and lower sections of trees differed significantly. CV increased from the top to the lower sections of the tnmk while AC decreased. Mean gross calorific value （GCV） and AFCV of aboveground parts were significantly higher than those of belowground parts （roots）. The mean GCV, AFCV and AC of a whole tree of Masson pine were 21.54 kJ/g, 21.74 kJ/g and 0.90%, re- spectively. CV and AC of different tree parts were, to some extent, cor- related with tree diameter, height and origin.

Developing individual tree-based models for estimating aboveground biomass of five key coniferous species in China

Estimating individual tree biomass is critical to forest carbon accounting and ecosystem service *** this study,we developed one-（tree diameter only） and two-variable（tree diameter and height） biomass equations,biomass conversion factor（BCF） models,and an integrated simultaneous equation system（ISES） to estimate the aboveground biomass for five conifer species in China,i.e.,Cunninghamia lanceolata（Lamb.） Hook.,Pinus massoniana Lamb.,*** Faranch,*** *** *** Engelm.,based on the field measurement data of aboveground biomass and stem volumes from 1055 destructive sample trees across the *** found that all three methods,including the one-and two-variable equations,could adequately estimate aboveground biomass with a mean prediction error less than 5%,except for Pinus yunnanensis which yielded an error of about 6%.The BCF method was slightly poorer than the biomass equation and the ISES *** average coefficients of determination（R^2） were 0.944,0.938 and 0.943 and the mean prediction errors were 4.26,4.49 and 4.29% for the biomass equation method,the BCF method and the ISES method,*** ISES method was the best approach for estimating aboveground biomass,which not only had high accuracy but also could estimate stocking volumes simultaneously that was compatible with aboveground *** addition,we found that it is possible to develop a species-invariant one-variable allometric model for estimating aboveground biomass of all the five coniferous *** model had an exponent parameter of 7/3 and the intercept parameter a_0 could be estimated indirectly from stem basic density（a_0= 0.294 q）.

Development of monitoring and assessment of forest biomass and carbon storage in China

Genetic architecture of leaf morphology revealed by integrated trait module in Catalpa bungei

Leaves are crucial for maintaining plant growth and development via photosynthesis,and their function is simultaneously regulated by a suite of phenotypic *** much is known about the genetic architecture of individual leaf traits,unraveling the genetic basis of complex leafmorphology remains a *** on the functional correlation and coordination ofmulti-traits,we divided 15 leaf morphological traits into three modules,comprising size(area,length,width,and perimeter),shape(leaf lobes,aspect ratio,circularity,rectangularity,and the relevant ratios),and color(red,green,and blue)for an ornamental tree species,Catalpa bungei.A total of 189 significant single-nucleotide polymorphisms were identified in the leaves of ***:35,82,and 76 in the size,shape,and color modules,*** quantitative trait loci were common between the size and shape modules,which were closely related according to phenotype correlation,genetic mapping,and mRNA *** color module was independent of *** changes in the aspect ratio,leaf lobe,and circularity suggest that these traits could be the core indicators of the leaf shape *** LAS and SRK genes,associated with leaf lobe and circularity,were found to function in plant defense mechanisms and the growth of *** associations between the SRK and CRK2 genes and the leaf lobe and circularity traits were further verified by *** findings demonstrate the importance of integrating multi-trait modules to characterize leaf morphology and facilitate a holistic understanding of the genetic architecture of intraspecific leaf morphology diversity.

Mapping the potential distribution suitability of 16 tree species under climate change in northeastern China using Maxent modelling

Knowledge on the potential suitability of tree species to the site is very important for forest management *** forest distribution provides a good reference for afforestation and forest *** this study,we developed species distribution model(SDM)for 16 major tree species with 2,825 permanent sample plots with natural origin from Chinese National Forest inventory data collected in Jilin Province using the Maxent *** types of environmental factors including bioclimate,soil and topography with a total of 33 variables were tested as the *** values of area under the curve(AUC,one of the receiver operating characteristics of the Maxent model)in the training and test datasets were between 0.784 and 0.968,indicating that the prediction results were quite *** environmental factors affecting the distribution of species were ranked in terms of their importance to the species ***,the climatic factors had the greatest contribution,which included mean diurnal range,annual mean temperature,temperature annual range,and *** the main environmental factors varied with tree *** suitability maps under current(1950-2000)and future climate scenarios(CCSM4-RCP 2.6 and RCP 6.0 during 2050)were produced for 16 major tree species in Jilin Province using the model *** predicted current and future ranges of habitat suitability of the 16 tree species are likely to be positively and negatively affected by future *** tree species were found to benefit from future climate including B etula costata,Fraxinus mandshurica,Juglans mandshurica,Phellodendron amurense,Populus ussuriensis,Quercus mongolica and Ulmus pumila;five tree species will experience decline in their suitable habitat including ***,Tilia mongolica,Picea asperata,Pinus sylvestris,Pinus koraiensis;and four(Salix koreensis,Abies fabri,Pinus densiflora and Larix olgensis)showed the inconsistency under RCP 2.6 and RC
