Outcomes of Twin Delivery at the Bamenda Health District, North West region Cameroon

Introduction: Multiple gestations or multiple pregnancies occur when two or more fetuses are conceived at the same time in the same woman. Therefore, a twin pregnancy is defined as the simultaneous development of two fetuses in the same woman. It can either be a monozygotic or dizygotic pregnancy. Twin pregnancy is considered a high-risk pregnancy with variable incidence and outcomes worldwide. The adverse maternal and fetal outcomes of twin deliveries have not yet been investigated in our setting. Objectives: The main objective of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of twin deliveries at the Bamenda Health District. Methods: This was a hospital-based, cross-sectional analytic study done at the Bamenda Health District in three selected hospitals (Bamenda regional Hospital, CMA Nkwen, and IHC Azire) from the 1st of January to the 10th of May 2018. 55 women with twin pregnancies and 55 women with singleton pregnancies at gestational ages of 28 completed weeks and above who came for delivery and who consented to the study were included. A face-to-face interview-administered questionnaire was used to obtain sociodemographic characteristics;a venous blood sample was collected from the mothers before and after delivery to determine the estimated blood loss based on haemoglobin level. The partogram was opened from 4 cm cervical dilatation for those who came in the first stage of labour and the mode of delivery was recorded. After delivery, outcome variables were 1st, 5th, and 10th min Apgar score, birth weight, and gestational age. Data were entered in CSPro 7.1 and exported to IBM SPSS version 23.0 for analysis. All variables with p < 0.05 were statistically significant, OR and 95% CI were calculated for all outcome variables to measure the association with twin deliveries. Iron-metal clusters are crucial in a variety of critical biological and material systems,including metalloenzymes,catalysts,and magnetic storage ***,a synthetic high-nuclear iron cluster has been absent due to the extreme difficulty in stabilizing species with direct iron-iron *** this work,we have synthesized,crystallized,and characterized a（Tp*）4W4S12(Fe@Fe12) cluster(Tp*=tris（3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazolyl）borate（1-）),which features a rare trideca-nuclear,icosahedral[Fe@Fe12] cluster core with direct multicenter iron-iron bonding between the interstitial iron（Fei） and peripheral irons（Fep）,as well as Fep…Fepferromagnetic *** chemistry studies reveal that the stability of the cluster arises from the 18-electron shell-closing of the [Fe@Fe12]16+core,assisted by its bonding interactions with the peripheral tridentate [（Tp*）WS3]4-ligands which possess both S→Fe donation and spin-polarized Fe-Wσ *** ground-state electron spin is theoretically predicted to be S=32/2 for the *** existence of low oxidation-state（OS～+1.23） iron in this compound may find interesting applications in magnetic storage,spintronics,redox chemistry,and cluster catalysis.

目的探讨案例教学法结合虚拟仿真技术在助产实验课程中的应用效果。方法采用类实验研究设计,于2020年9月至2022年1月,从桂林医学院护理学院助产专业选取2018级和2019级两个班级共135名学生为研究对象,2019级为干预组(n=59),2018级为对照组(n=76)。干预组在传统实验教学的基础上,采用案例教学法结合虚拟仿真技术,课程包括正常分娩(6学时)异常分娩(6学时)脐带脱垂(2学时)、新生儿窒息与复苏(4学时)4部分内容;对照组学生采用传统实验教学。采用课程成绩、自主学习能力问卷、教学满意度问卷进行调查,比较两组学生的教学效果。结果课程结束后,干预组学生的个人操作能力(90.88±2. 14比89.24土3.15),团队操作能力(90.97±2.33比81.28±5.45)和案例分析能力(88.64±3.19比86.70±2.56)均高于对照组(P<0.01)。课程干预前,两组学生自主学习能力得分比较,差异无统计学意义;课程实施后,干预组学生自主学习能力得分(94.78±6.59比88.12±8.36)及各维度得分均高于对照组(P<0.05)。超过94%的干预组学生认为案例教学法结合虚拟仿真技术有效提高了他们自主学习热情、独立思考、团队协作及沟通等综合能力。结论在助产实验课程中应用案例教学法结合虚拟仿真技术,可有效提高学生课程成绩、自主学习能力及综合能力,并得到学生的认可。

Clinical Research on Treatment of Migraine with Combination of Characteristic and Superior Techniques of Zhuang Medicine

Objective:To study the application effect of the combination of special advantages of Zhuang medical technology for migraine ***:80 patients with migraine were selected and all were admitted to Mingxiu Branch of International Zhuang Hospital Affiliated to Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2019 to February *** number table method was used to divide patients into two groups,with 40 patients in each *** them,the patients in the study group were treated with the therapy combining characteristics of Zhuang medicine and superior technology,that is,Zhuang medicine meridian tendon therapy+Zhuang medicine lotus needle cupping blood stasis removal therapy+Zhuang medicine thread moxibustion therapy+Zhuang medicine acupuncture therapy;the patients in the control group were treated with conventional Western *** efficacy of the two treatments were ***:After treatment,the total effective rate of clinical treatment in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the visual analogue scale(VAS)score and integral improvement rate were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The onset time of action was statistically shorter than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in the adverse reaction rate between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of Zhuang medicine’s characteristic and superior techniques for patients with migraine has a significant curative effect.

Super-resolution imaging reveals the subcellular distribution of dextran at the nanoscale in living cells

Theranostic visualization of dextran at the nanoscale is beneficial for understanding the bioregulatory mechanisms of this molecule. In this study, we applied structured illumination microscopy(SIM) to capture the distribution of Cy5-Dextran at different incubation periods in living cells. The results showed that Cy5-Dextran could be absorbed by He La cells. In addition, we clarified that Cy5-Dextran exhibited differential organelle distribution(lysosomal or mitochondrial) in a time-dependent manner. Moreover,lysosomal Cy5-Dextran localization was found to be independent of the autophagy process, while Cy5-Dextran localized to the mitochondria triggered a pro-apoptotic event, upregulating the levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS) to accelerate mitochondrial fragmentation. This work uses a visualized strategy to reveal the anti-tumor bioactivity of dextran, which was achieved by regulating apoptosis and autophagy.

Decoy receptor 3: Its role as biomarker for chronic inflammatory diseases

Members of the tumor-necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and TNF-α receptor(TNFR) superfamilies of proteins(TNFSF and TNFRSF, respectively) play important roles in the function of the immune system. Decoy receptor 3(Dc R3, TNFRSF6b) is a decoy receptor that binds to three TNFSF ligands, Fas L, LIGHT and TL1 A. Association to these ligands competes with the corresponding functional receptors and blocks downstream signaling, leading to immunomodulatory effects, including the prevention of apoptosis. Dc R3 lacks a transmembrane region and exists only as a secreted protein, which is detectable in biological fluids. Recent studies have shown that Dc R3 is upregulated and may be pathogenetically implicated in several and diverse chronic inflammatory diseases. The strongest associations have been described for rheumatological diseases, mainly systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and serious infectious conditions, including systemic inflammatory response syndrome. In the majority of these conditions, Dc R3 m RNA and protein expression is elevated both at the target tissues as well as in the systemic circulation. Dc R3 concentration in the serum is untraceable in the majority of healthy individuals but can be detected in patients with various inflammatory diseases. In mostsuch cases, soluble Dc R3 correlates with disease severity, as patients with severe forms of disease have significantly higher levels than patients with milder or no activity. In addition, effective anti-inflammatory treatment leads to the disappearance of soluble Dc R3 from the circulation. Taken together, current evidence suggests that serum Dc R3 may become a useful biomarker for chronic inflammatory disorders, as it is upregulated in response to inflammatory stimuli, and may serve both as a prognostic marker for disease severity and as a surrogate indicator of response to treatment.

Land coordination Analysis and Planning Strategy Suggestions in Northeast China Under the Spatial Planning Transition

Facing the new era of construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics, it is critical for the northeastern region of China to hold this new chance for its overall *** foundation and key of this revitalization lie in finding out problems in the urban development and then putting forward feasible *** paper studies 34 prefecture-level cities in northeast China, and uses the coordination index to analyze the relationship between land and population, economy, and investment, of different types of cities in the region from 2000 – 2014, in order to discover problems in its urban development and provide planning *** shows that in northeast China, the imbalance between urban land expansion and population is significant, the imbalance between urban land use and either economic development or capital investment is periodical, for which the primary reasons include strong centralization effect of center cities, limited input on land resources, and weak industrial ***, the paper proposes planning strategies in terms of vitalizing stock land, enriching land use functions, and coordinating industrial resources, with an expectation of providing both the theoretical foundation for the economic revival in the northeastern region and a guidance on practice of revitalization strategies in all cities of the region.

A visual analytics system to support the formation of a hypothesis from calcium wave data

In most species,calcium waves in the oocyte are considered common phenomena in the activation of ***,the mechanism of calcium waves has not yet been *** collaborating with biologists studying Caenorhabditis elegans(***),which is widely used as a model organism,we observed that the following requirements must be satisfied to form a useful hypothesis based on calcium waves captured using high-speed in vivo imaging:(1)the ability to obtain an overview of how the calcium waves are propagated and(2)the ability to understand the propagation of waves in a narrow ***,conventional visualization methods cannot satisfy these requirements ***,we propose a visual analytics system that allows users to understand and explore calcium wave images using cross-correlation analysis of the time-series data of the Ca^(2+)fluorescence intensity at each *** interface of this system comprises an overview visualization,a detail visualization,and user interactions to satisfy these requirements and realize exploratory *** views present an overview visualization that displays the clustering results of a directed graph calculated using cross-correlation *** views enable the users to understand the overview of wave propagation,thereby helping users find a region of *** detail visualization shows the relationship between the region of interest and other ***,users can use the proposed system with overview-detail and brush-link exploration to assign meaning to the region of interest and construct a hypothesis for its *** this paper,we demonstrate how the proposed visual analytics approach works and how new hypotheses can be formed using the analysis of *** calcium waves.
