Distribution and influencing factors of microeukaryote in different water layers of the southwestern Indian Ocean Ridge

Microeukaryotes play a vital role in shaping marine ecosystems,especially in marine productivity,the microbial food web,and carbon *** Indian Ocean is one of the largest oligotrophic areas in the world,but little is known about the biodiversity of microeukaryotes in the *** community composition and geographical distribution of microeukaryotes collected from the surface(SUR)and deep chlorophyll maximum(DCM)layers in the southwestern Indian Ocean were studied using high-throughput sequencing of the 18S rRNA *** metagenomic data helped quantify the impact of environmental factors on microeukaryotic *** relative abundance of different taxa groups exhibited distinct patterns between SUR and DCM layers,except for the most dominant Dinoflagellata that accounted for more than 4..6%abundance in each *** was much more abundant in the nutrient-rich DCM layer than the SUR *** community similarity of microeukaryotes decreased with increasing of geographic distance,whereas the temperature and inorganic nitrogen were the most important environmental parameters to community *** communities were more influenced by dispersal limitations and rare communities were more responsive to environmental *** network analyses revealed strong biotic interactions indicative of parasitism,predation and competition,and their contribution to microeukaryotic population in diverse ***,this study provided insights into the biodiversity of microeukaryotes by characterizing the differences between water layers and identifying the driving factors in the ocean.

The value of toxicological analysis in acute poisoning patients with uncertain exposure histories:a retrospective and descriptive study from an institute of poisoning

BACKGROUND:In clinical practice,some patients might not be able or unwilling to provide a thorough history of medication and poison *** aim of this study was to use toxicological analysis to examine the clinical characteristics of patients with acute poisoning whose exposure history was uncertain from a toxicological analysis ***:This was a retrospective and descriptive study from an institute of *** registration information and test reports spanning the period from April 1,2020 to March 31,2022,were *** with uncertain exposure histories and who underwent toxicological analysis were *** manifestations and categories of toxics were ***:Among the 195 patients with positive toxicological analysis results,the main causes of uncertain exposure history was disturbance of consciousness(62.6%),unawareness(23.6%)and unwillingness or lack of cooperation(13.8%).The predominant clinical manifestations were disturbed consciousness(62.6%),followed by vomiting and nausea(14.4.)and liver function abnormalities(8.7%).A comparison of clinical manifestations between patients with positive and negative(n=99)toxicological analyses results revealed significantly different proportions of disturbances in consciousness(63%vs.21%),dizziness(1.5%vs.5.1%),multi-organ failure(1.5%vs.7.1%),and local pain(0 vs 4.).The main categories of substances involved were psychiatric medications(23.1%),sedatives(20.5%),insecticides(13.8%),and herbicides(12.8%).CONCLUSION:The clinical manifestations of acute poisoning in patients with an uncertain exposure history are diverse and nonspecific,and toxicological analysis plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of such patients.

The Laizhou Bay(LB)represents a substantial ecological area that is vulnerable to human activities and confronts diverse environmental *** study provides a comprehensive characterization of nutrients,petroleum,heavy metals,and phytoplankton community structure across seven distinct areas in *** results indicate relatively high concentrations of NO_(2)-N,SiO_(4.-Si,and NO_(3)-N in the Southwest Laizhou Bay(SWLB)and Huanghe River Estuary(HRE).In contrast,the East Laizhou bay(ELB)and the North of Huanghe River Estuary(NHRE)exhibit the highest concentrations of heavy metals(As,Cr and Hg).The areas with high phytoplankton density and community diversity are mainly located in the *** adjusting for basic environmental factors,phytoplankton density and Margalef richness index D are significantly associated with nutrients(NO_(3)-N,NO_(2)-N,NH_(4.-N,SiO_(4.-Si),and heavy metal(Cr)*** highlight that,in addition to Xiaoqinghe River,nutrients brought by the Mihe River in the SWLB and heavy metal(Cr)pollution in the ELB resulting from industrial and mining activities along the coast significantly influence phytoplankton growth and community ***,it is recommended that more monitoring and management efforts be focused on these regions in the future.

Cyclicity of the Lower Buntsandstein in the eastern part of the Central European Basin:implications for Early Triassic palaeogeography and for geochronological calibration

Lower Buntsandstein small—scale cycles recognized in the Central European Basin(CEB) are readily used for astrochronological calibration of the Early Triassic time scales,although they are not well studied *** borehole sections from the eastern part of the CEB,forming a south-north transect perpendicular to the basin axis,were studied in terms to better understand the depositional history of the Lower Buntsandstein developed as the Baltic Formation in the studied Polish part of the *** sedimentary facies were recognized,based on lithological and sedimentological investigations of 655.7 m of drill cores from the Otyń IG 1,Gorzów Wielkopolski IG 1 and Kamień Pomorski IG 1 *** facies can be grouped according to a lithological criterion into facies of predominantly siliciclastic lithology(including 9facies types) and facies of predominantly carbonate lithology(including 2 facies types).Facies analysis allowed to distinguish 8 facies associations of:1) alluvial fan,2) playa,3) sandy-muddy coastal plain,4.embayment and distal delta,5) lagoon,6) sand bars or shoals,7) ooidal shoals or bars,and 8) ***-upward(DC) and shallowing-upward(SC) sedimentary cycles were recognized in parts of the Baltic Formation,with DCs dominating in the southernmost located Otyń IG 1,and SCs dominating in Gorz ow Wielkopolski IG 1,located in the axial part of the *** cycles are very *** statistical significance of the sedimentary cycles is relatively low according to Markov-chain analysis conducted with the phpSedistat software of Stanova et al.(2009).Analysis of small—scale cycles performed on well logs of investigated boreholes and additional boreholes in the vicinity of Otyń IG 1,implementing the earlier study of Becker(2005),showed that the correlation of well-log cycles(GR cycles) and sedimentary cycles is not *** cycles can be roughly correlated with lithological carbonate—siliciclastic cycles(c-s cycles),refle

Study on Clogging Mechanism and Water Sediment Movement Mechanism of Patch-Type Drip Irrigation Emitters

As one of the key components of drip irrigation technology， the existence of sediment particles seriously affects the service life of emitters and restricts the popularization of drip irrigation technology. In this paper， two kinds of patch drip irrigation emitters are used as research object， and the anti-clogging performance experiment is carried out in the laboratory. The dynamic changes in emitters’ clogging characteristics (Dra， Cu) were statistically analyzed. The movement mechanism of emitter clogging and discharging sediment was studied. The effects of emitter structure and position factors on emitter clogging were analyzed. The results show that: (1) The pressure-compensated emitter has better anti-clogging performance， and its service life is 227.8% of the labyrinth channel emitter. (2) Single structural factor can not evaluate the anti-clogging performance of emitters. All factors causing emitter clogging should be considered comprehensively. (3) All emitters have sensitive clogging sediment inside， but only when sediment content is high can it easily cause blockage. The results show that when the sensitive sediment content is 5.4.% and 5.54.， it does not affect the clogging characteristics of the emitters. (4. The discharge of sediment V90 from the emitter is affected by the accumulation effect of clogged sediment. The experimental results show that the emitter can discharge up to 50% of the accumulated clogged sediment without clogging. In comparison， the emitter with clogging can only discharge up to 25% of the accumulated clogged sediment. These results could provide references for the application and promotion of drip irrigation technology.

Habitat restoration is an effective method for improving landscape connectivity,which can reduce habitat *** landscape connectivity could promote connections between habitat,which is extremely essential to preserve gene flow and population *** study proposes a methodological framework to analyze landscape connectivity for Asian elephant habitat conservation,aiming to provide practical options for reducing habitat fragmentation and improving habitat *** approach involved combining a species distribution model using MaxEnt and landscape functional connectivity models using graph theory to assess the impact on connectivity improvement via farmland/plantation restoration as *** results showed that:(1)there were 119 suitable habitat patches of Asian elephant covering a total area of 1952.4. km^(2).(2)The connectivity between habitats improved significantly after vegetation restoration and the gain first decreased and then increased with the increase of dispersal distance.(3)The first few new habitat patches that were identified played an important role in improving connectivity,and the variation rate of connectivity gradually leveled off as the number of new habitats increased.(4.Prioritization of the 25 best new habitat patches increased connectivity from 0.54.to 5.59%as the dispersal distance increased and mainly was located between two Asian elephant distribution regions and two *** of new habitat patches was effective for improving or restoring *** findings can be used as guidance for improving the studied fragmented Asian elephant habitats,and they can also be used as a reference for the habitat restoration of other endangered species heavily affected by habitat fragmentation.

Laparoscopic partial splenectomy in the treatment of splenic ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that occurred outside the uterus,usually in the fallopian tube,followed by other abdominal *** pregnancy could not develop normally to term and requires sufficient evaluation and intervention with medication or surgery in most cases(1).As a rare form of abdominal pregnancy(2),splenic ectopic pregnancy could be treated by drug treatment(3)or surgical interventions,including laparotomy and laparoscopy,which focused on total splenectomy(4.5).A previous study(6)indicated that laparoscopic partial splenectomy for selected patients was safe and *** to the fragile texture of the spleen,the suture method during laparoscopic partial splenectomy was technically demanding since it might encounter higher risk of splenic vascular hemorrhage than total ***,few reports focused on the treatment of splenic ectopic pregnancy via laparoscopic partial splenectomy(7).In order to avoid the potential severe complications such as hemoperitoneum(8)caused by drug treatment alone,and to avert impaired hematopoietic and immune function caused by total splenectomy,we herein presented a case(Video 1)of a 30-year-old woman(gravida 2,para 1)undergoing laparoscopic partial splenectomy performed by hepatobiliary surgeons to treat splenic ectopic pregnancy.
