Transcriptomic changes at the cessation of sugar accumulation in the pericarp of Vitis vinifera were addressed on single berries re-synchronised according to their individual growth *** net rates of water,sugars and K+accumulation inferred from individual growth and solute concentration confirmed that these inflows stopped simultaneously in the ripe berry,while the small amount of malic acid remaining at this stage was still being oxidised at low ***-synchronised individual berries displayed negligible variations in gene expression among ***-seq studies revealed sharp reprogramming of cell-wall enzymes and structural proteins at the stop of phloem unloading,associated with an 80%repression of multiple sugar transporters and aquaporins on the plasma or tonoplast membranes,with the noticeable exception of H^(+)/sugar symporters,which were rather weakly and constitutively *** was verified in three genotypes placed in contrasted thermo-hydric *** prevalence of SWEET suggests that electrogenic transporters would play a minor role on the plasma membranes of SE/CC complex and the one of the flesh,while sucrose/H+exchangers dominate on its ***-regulatory elements present in their promoters allowed to sort these transporters in different groups,also including specific TIPs and PIPs paralogs,and cohorts of cell wall-related *** with simple thermodynamic considerations,these results lead to propose that H^(+)/sugar exchangers at the tonoplast,associated with a considerably acidic vacuolar pH,may exhaust cytosolic sugars in the flesh and alleviate the need for supplementary energisation of sugar transport at the plasma membrane.

Interspecific competition with native species during biological invasions can sometimes limit alien *** aimed to determine the potential ecological effects of Limatus durhamii Theobald 1901,a native Neotropical mosquito (Diptera:Culicidae) species,on the invasive species Aedes (Stegomyia)aegypti (Linnaeus 1762)that breeds in the same artificial water *** time and adult dry mass were measured in 3 rearing conditions:control (a single larva),intraspecific competition (2 conspecific larvae),and interspecific competition (2 heterospecific larvae).Food was provided ad libitum to eliminate exploitative *** ***,development time was not affected by interspecific interference competition (nonsignificant differences with the control)and the adult dry mass was significantly higher,meaning that individual fitness likely ***,because previous studies showed longer development time and lighter adults during competition with other invasive mosquitoes,it is likely that *** can express a different phenotype depending on the competing *** similar pattern found for *** females and the nonsignificant difference with the control for males explain in part why this species can compete with ***.

We collected 3 596 Metapenaeopsis stridulans (Decapoda: Penaeidae) from the southeast coast of India between January and December 2007. Sixty three specimens (43 females and 18 males) were parasitized by the bopyrid isopod Epipenaeon ingens (Isopoda: Bopyridae). This is the first report of the occurrence of E. ingens in this host; therefore, it was considered as a new host record. The highest level of infestation (3.2%) occurred in October 2007, coincident with observations of gravid females (9). The total prevalence and presence of gravid females were 17.46% and 28%, respectively. Infestation caused a characteristic bulge of the branchial chamber, growth retardation, and degeneration of the sex organs, but had no effect on the host weight.

The combined influence of maturation,ripening,and climate on the profile of bioactive compounds was studied in banana(Musa acuminata,AAA,Cavendish,*** Naine).Their bioactive compounds were determined by the Folin-Ciocalteu assay and high-performance thin layer chromatographic(HPTLC) *** polyphenol content of bananas harvested after 400 degree days remained unchanged during ripening,while bananas harvested after 600 and 900 degree days exhibited a significant polyphenol *** dopamine was the polyphenol with the highest concentration in banana peels during the green developmental stage and ripening,its kinetics differed from the total polyphenol *** results showed that this matrix of choice(maturation,ripening,and climate) may allow selection of the banana(***,AAA,Cavendish,*** Naine) status that will produce optimal concentrations of identified compounds with human health relevance.

In this experiment carried out on Caribbean chili pepper plants(Capsicum chinensis),the bio-insecticide azadirachtin in combination with an NPK fertilizer proved to have a greater lethal impact on the larvae of Aedes albopictus than each substance on its *** synergistic effect is noticeably important when both inputs are sprayed directly on the leaves of the plant(foliar application).While the plants treated with azadirachtin or NPK alone cause a 33.6%and 36.4%mortal-ity respectively of the *** larvae,the combination of the two inputs induces a 74.4%mortality on the mosquito *** account for this synergistic effect phenomenon inside the plant,the azadirachtin+NPK combination most likely interacts with the capsaicinoid compounds naturally produced by the *** only does this study carried out on azadirachtin reveal major results but the methodology itself offers a most interesting approach on how to boost the agricultural inputs within the *** a matter of fact,this research axis demands developing since the control of pests harmful to men has been dramatically lacking insecticide molecules acting on new targets over the past three decades.

Iron （Fe） homeostasis is integrated with the production of reactive oxygen species （ROS）, and distribution at the root tip participates in the control of root growth. Excess Fe increases ferritin abundance, enabling the storage of Fe, which contributes to protection of plants against Fe-induced oxidative stress. AtFerl and AtFer3 are the two ferritin genes expressed in the meristematic zone, pericycle and endodermis of theAra- bidopsis thaliana root, and it is in these regions that we observe Fe stained dots. This staining disappears in the triple ferl-3-4 ferritin mutant. Fe excess decreases primary root length in the same way in wild-type and in ferl-3-4 mutant. In contrast, the Fe-mediated decrease of lateral root （LR） length and density is enhanced in ferl-3-4 plants due to a defect in LR emergence. We observe that this interaction between excess Fe, ferritin, and root system architecture （RSA） is in part mediated by the H_2O_2/O2·^- balance between the root cell proliferation and differentiation zones regulated by the UPB1 transcription factor. Meristem size is also decreased in response to Fe excess in ferritin mutant plants, implicating cell cycle arrest mediated by the ROS-activated SMR5/SMR7 cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors pathway in the interaction between Fe and RSA.

This paper presents a standard scalable and reconfigurable design for testability (SR DfT) in order to increase ac- cessibility to deeply embedded A/MS cores and to limit application of costly off-chip mixed-signal testers. SR DfT is an oscilla- tion-based wrapper compatible with digital embedded core-based SoC test methodologies. The impact of the optimized oscilla- tion-based wrapper design on MS SoC testing is evaluated in two directions: area and test time. Experimental results are presented for several SoCs from the ITC’02 test benchmarks with inclusion of eight analog filters.

Aims Habitat fragmentation impacts the spatial extent and isolation of local populations and *** the biological consequences of these impacts have been well studied at the site level,effects directly related to changes in the spatial configuration of populations in the landscape remain less *** objective of this study is to examine how changes in the spatial-scale configuration of populations are associated with variability in morph rations in the floral polymorphic Mediterranean geophyte Narcissus *** We performed a nested analysis of morph ratio variation at three spatial scales:a 50×50 km regional scale in SE France,in fourteen 1×1 km landscapes located in the same region,and within 12 spatially extensive population *** also quantified variation in the behaviour of pollinators in population patches of contrasting spatial *** FindingsAt a regional scale,morph ratios show a geographic pattern of increasing isoplethy(1:1 morph ratio)away from centres of human population development and in upland *** the landscape scale,isoplethy of local population patches is more correlated with decreased isolation among patches than with patch ***,within local isoplethic populations,small patches can show significantly biased morph *** small isolated patches,pollinators perform shorter flight distances among consecutive flower visits than in spatially extensive *** study of variation in a genetic polymorphism at multiple spatial scales provides new insights into the scale-dependent effects of habitat fragmentation and the potential occurrence of metapopulation dynamics in natural plant populations.

Lipase from Candida rugosa was covalently immobilized on the surface of an uhrafihration hollow fiber membrane fabricated from poly （ acrylonitrile-co-maleic acid）（ PANCMA ） in which the carboxyl groups were activated with 1-ethyl-3-（ dimethylaminopropyl ） carbodiimide hydrochloride （ EDC ） and dicyclohexyl carbodiimide （ DCC ）/ N-hydroxyl succinimide（NHS）, respectively. The properties of the immobilized lipase were assayed and compared with those of the free enzyme. The maximum activities were observed in a relatively broader pH value range at high temperatures for the immobilized lipase compared to the free one. It was also found that the thermal and pH stabilities of lipase were improved upon immobilization and at 50 ℃ the thermal inactivation rate constant values are 2. 1 × 10^ -2 for the free lipase, 3.2 × 10^-3 for the immobilized lipase on the EDC-activated PANCMA membrane and 3.5 × 10^-3 for the immobilized lipase on the DCC/NHS-activated PANCMA membrane, respectively.
