BACKGROUND Isolated gastrointestinal venous malformations(GIVMs)are extremely rare congenital developmental abnormalities of the venous *** of their asymptomatic nature,the diagnosis is often quite ***,as symptomatic GIVMs have nonspecific clinical manifestations,misdiagnosis is very ***,we report a case of isolated diffuse GIVMs inducing mechanical intestinal obstruction.A literature review was also conducted to summarize clinical features,diagnostic points,treatment selections and differential diagnosis in order that doctors may have a comprehensive understanding of this *** SUMMARY A 50-year-old man presented with recurrent painless gastrointestinal bleeding for two months and failure to pass flatus and defecate with nausea and vomiting for ten *** rectal examination found bright red blood and soft nodular masses 3 cm above the anal *** tomography showed that part of the descending colon and rectosigmoid colon was thickened with phleboliths in the intestinal *** exhibited bluish and reddish multinodular submucosal masses and flat submucosal serpentine *** ultrasonography showed anechoic cystic spaces within intestinal *** lesions were initially thought to be isolated VMs involving part of the descending colon and rectosigmoid *** subtotal proctocolectomy,pullthrough transection and coloanal anastomosis and ileostomy were *** revealed intact mucosa and dilated,thin-walled blood vessels in the submucosa,muscularis,and serosa involving the entire *** patient recovered with complete symptomatic relief during the 52-mo follow-up *** The diagnosis of isolated GIVMs is *** information presented here is significant for the diagnosis and management of symptoms.

采用超高效液相-串联质谱联用建立人血浆中地塞米松含量的检测方法.色谱柱为BEH C18,流动相为0.01%甲酸乙腈溶液-0.01%甲酸水溶液,梯度洗脱,流速为0.4 mL/min,电喷雾正离子模式,多反应监测.调谐后,地塞米松定量分析检测的离子对为m/z 393.03→237.02.地塞米松在1.28~312.12 ng/mL(r^(2)=0.9988)质量浓度范围内与色谱峰面积线性关系良好;检测限和定量下限分别为0.50 ng/mL和1.00 ng/mL;日内精密度和日间精密度RSD均小于10.01%,准确度为100.65%~107.82%;提取回收率为80.90%~84.32%;基质效应为102.4%~120.0%;在多种试验条件下,血浆样品稳定性良好,相对误差均在±10%之内.由患有干燥综合征的妊娠母亲抗SSA/Ro或抗SSB/La抗体阳性所引起的免疫性胎儿房室传导阻滞目前临床上采用皮质类固醇治疗,但缺乏与药物疗效及安全性等内容有关的具体数据.本方法首次成功用于患有干燥综合征的妊娠母亲口服地塞米松治疗免疫性胎儿完全性房室传导阻滞病例,在新生儿体内定性和定量检测到DXM原形药物,分娩后同时定量检测母亲及新生儿血浆样品中地塞米松质量浓度分别为25.7 ng/mL和5.6 ng/mL,比例约为5∶1.本方法灵敏度高、准确性好、方便快捷,可同时测定母亲和新生儿血浆中地塞米松的浓度,为临床治疗提供精准的数据支撑,同时为进行系统全面的数据分析打下基础,确保患者用药安全有效.

Zinc is a trace element involved in maintaining cellular structure and *** zinc is associated with left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH),there have been few reports on this *** study aimed to evaluate the correlation between Zip14 and expression of endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS)associated molecules in hypertrophied hearts of *** salt-sensitive rats were fed a high salt diet to establish a left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH)rat ***-PCR was used to determine Zip14,activating transcription factor(ATF4),ATF6,x-box-binding protein 1(xBP1),C/EBP homologous protein(CHOP),immunoglobulin-binding protein(BiP)mRNA *** blotting was used to evaluate Zip14,BiP,CHOP,GAPDH *** levels were measured by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission *** results indicated that compared with the Control group,Zip14 mRNA and protein expression in LVH rat hearts were markedly increased(P<0.01).Zinc content in rat heart tissue was significantly increased in the LVH group compared with the Control group(P<0.05).ATF4,ATF6,xBP1 mRNA expressions were increased in LVH rat hearts compared with Control hearts(P<0.001).Compared with the Control group,CHOP and BiP mRNA and protein expression were markedly increased in LVH rat hearts(P<0.05,P<0.01).Linear regression models showed that Zip14 mRNA expressions were positively correlated with zinc concentration,ATF4 and ATF6 mRNA expressions in Control hearts(P=0.0005,P=0.0052,P=0.0026,respectively)and LVH rat hearts(P<0.0001,P=0.0119,P=0.0033,respectively).In conclusion,upregulation of Zip14 in LVH rat hearts correlated with zinc accumulation and induction of ERS.

Atypical Endometriosis:a Clinicopathologic Study of 163 Cases

OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinicopathologic features of atypical endometriosis （AEM）, and to discuss the relations between AEMs and tumors. METHODS A retrospective analysis was performed on 163 cases of AEMs. The changes in the glandular epithelium, stroma, and their background and the relationship with coexisting tumors were observed. RESULTS The AEMs account of for 4.4% （163/3,724） of the endometriosis （EM） cases. Of 172 AEM foci of 163 patients, 168 were in the ovary, and the other 4 were in the fallopian tube, cervix and uterine serosa. Of the cases of ovarian EM, 6.8% were AEM. All of the 27 cases （15.7%） of the AEMs associated with a tumor were found in the ovaries, of which 15 were malignant, 9 borderline, and 3 benign. Of the ovary AEMs, 14.9% were associated with a borderline or malignant tumor. The AEM epithelia were mainly arranged in the form of surface epithelia, with only a few glands. Present were characteristic features of moderate to marked pleomorphism, epithelial tufting, bud or firework-like structures on microscopy. Epithelial metaplastic changes were observed in 86 cases （50%） of the 172 AEM foci. Epithelium, endometrioid stroma, and fibrotic-collagen formed a three-layer structure in the wall of the AEM cysts. The endometrioid stroma were usually thin compared to the fibro-collagen tissue. The transformation from an AEM to a tumor was found in most of the malignant tumors. CONCLUSION AEM lesions have some features which are similar and also differ from both of the tumor and EM. AEMs have a relative higher potential for tumorigenesis and canceration, especially for ovarian cancer. The process of damage, repair, and scarring in EM foci over a long period may play a role in the development of EM into AEM and eventally into tumor formation.

Increased CD133^+ cell infiltration in the rat brain following fluid percussion injury

The prominin-1/CD133 epitope is expressed in craniocerebral trauma in animal models of fluid undifferentiated cells. Studies have reported that percussion injury induces production of a specific stem cell subgroup. It has been hypothesized that fluid percussion injury induces CD133＋ cell infiltration in the brain tissue. The present study established a traumatic brain injury model through fluid percussion injury. Immunohistochemical staining showed significantly increased CD133 antigen expression in the rat brain following injury. CD133＋ cells were mainly distributed in hippocampal CA1 3 regions, as well as the dentate gyrus and hilus, of the lesioned hemisphere. Occasional cells were also detected in the cortex. In addition, reverse transcription-PCR revealed that no change in CD133 mRNA expression in injured brain tissue. These results suggested that fluid percussion injury induced CD133 antigen expression in the brain tissues as a result of conformational epitope changes, but not transcriptional expression.

Cell–material interactions during early osseointegration of the bone–implant interface are critical and involve crosstalk between osteoblasts and *** surface properties of titanium implants also play a critical role in cell–material *** this study,femtosecond laser treatment and sandblasting were used to alter the surface morphology,roughness and wettability of a titanium *** and osteoclasts were then cultured on the resulting titanium alloy *** disk groups were tested:a polished titanium alloy(pTi)control;a hydrophilic micro-dislocation titanium alloy(sandblasted Ti(STi));a hydrophobic nano-mastoid Ti alloy(femtosecond laser-treated Ti(FTi));and a hydrophilic hierarchical hybrid micro-/nanostructured Ti alloy[femtosecond laser-treated and sandblasted Ti(FSTi)].The titanium surface treated by the femtosecond laser and sandblasting showed higher biomineralization activity and lower cytotoxicity in simulated body fluid and lactate dehydrogenase *** to the control surface,the multifunctional titanium surface induced a better cellular response in terms of proliferation,differentiation,mineralization and collagen *** investigation of macrophage polarization revealed that increased anti-inflammatory factor secretion and decreased proinflammatory factor secretion occurred in the early response of *** on the above results,the synergistic effect of the surface properties produced an excellent cellular response at the bone–implant interface,which was mainly reflected by the promotion of early ossteointegration andmacrophage polarization.

This study was performed to assess the response of regulatory T cells （Tregs） following cryosurgery in prostate cancer （PCa） patients by measuring their frequency and immune function. Blood was collected prior to and at 4 and 8 weeks after treatment in 30 patients with high-risk PCa who underwent cryosurgery and from 15 healthy volunteers. Circulating CD4＋CD25＋CD127- Tregs were isolated. Their frequency was detected by flow cytometry, and immune suppressive function was evaluated by measuring the proliferation of CD4＋CD25- T cells cocultured with Tregs. The results showed that the percentage of circulating CD4＋CD25＋CD127- Tregs was increased in PCa patients compared to healthy volunteers （7.6%±0.73% vs. 5.8%±0.54%, P〈0.001）. The frequency of circulating CD4＋CD25＋CD127- Tregs was reduced 4 weeks after cryosurgery compared to before surgery （6.3%__.0.58% vs. 7.6%±0.73%, P〈0.001）, and the decrease persisted for 8 weeks. However, the suppressive function of Tregs was increased in eight of 12 patients, which might contribute to cancer recurrence. Then the response of circulating Tregs is complicated after cryosurgery for PCa, and further studies are warranted.

Experimental Research of Acupuncture at Zusanli (ST 36) for Anti-aging

Objective： To explore the mechanism of anti-aging effect of acupuncture at Zusanli （ST 36）. Methods： Thirty mice of 28 weeks old were randomly divided into 3 groups： control group, model group and acupuncture group. Sub-acute aging model was established by subcutaneous injection of D-galactose. The activity of Superoxide Dismutase（SOD） and content of serum Malondialdehyde（MDA） were measured. Morphological changes of jejunal mucosa were observed with light microscope. Result： SOD activity in the acupuncture group was highest among the three groups, whereas, MDA content was the lowest. In the model group, the ratio of normal intestinal villus was decreased, the intestinal villus was shrunk, and there were more epithelial cells desquamated. In acupuncture group, there were less abnormal intestinal villus and epithelial cell. Conclusion： Acupuncture at Zusanli （ST 36） has an effect in resisting aging by increasing the activity of serum SOD, decreasing the MDA contents, and improving the intestinal villus.

Immune recognition of excessive neurotoxins by microglia is a trigger for the onset of neuroinflammation in the brain,leading to neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease(AD).Blocking active recognition of microglia while removing neurotoxins holds promise for fundamentally alleviating neurotoxin-induced immune responses,but is very ***,an engineered macrophage-biomimetic versatile nanoantidote(OT-Lipo@M)is developed for inflammation-targeted therapy against AD by neurotoxin neutralization and immune recognition *** macrophage membranes can not only endow OT-Lipo@M with anti-phagocytic and inflammation-tropism capabilities to target inflammatory lesions in AD brain,but also efficiently reduce neurotoxin levels to prevent them from activating *** loaded oxytocin(OT)can be slowly released to downregulate the expression of immune recognition site Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)on microglia,inhibiting TLR4-mediated pro-inflammatory signalling *** from this two-pronged immunosuppressive strategy,OT-Lipo@M exhibits outstanding therapeutic effects on ameliorating cognitive deficits,inhibiting neuronal apoptosis,and enhancing synaptic plasticity in AD mice,accompanied by the delayed hippocampal atrophy and brain microstructural disruption by in vivo 9.4T MR *** work provides new insights into potential AD therapeutics targeting microglia-mediated neuroinflammation at the source.
