Introduction: Obesity and pregnancy is a major public health problem worldwide, both maternal and fetal. Objective: This is to describe the epidemiological and prognostic aspects of obesity and pregnancy in the gynecology-obstetrics {2. at the Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital Center (CHU SO) in Lomé. Methodology: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study concerning obesed pregnant women. The survey was conducted from the 1st to the 30th of June 2.2. at the CHU SO. Results: We enrolled 55 obese pregnant women. The frequency of obesity and pregnancy was 5.14%. Resellers were represented at 41.8%. The average age was 31 years old. As risk factors, 85.5% claimed to have a fatty diet and 76% did not practice sports. The gestational pathologies found during pregnancy were hypertension in 47.4% of cases, preeclampsia in 2..6% and gestational diabetes in 7%. Caesarean section was the way of delivery in 63.6% of cases and those who gave birth vaginally presented a tear of the soft tissues in 85% of cases. Birth weight was abnormal (low weight and excess weight) in 61.8% of cases. Conclusion: The association between obesity and pregnancy constitutes an important risk factor for the mother and the fetus.

BACKGROUND The classification of uterine sarcomas is based on distinctive morphological and immunophenotypic characteristics,increasingly supported by molecular genetic *** on neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase(NTRK)gene fusionpositive uterine sarcoma,potentially aggressive and morphologically similar to fibrosarcoma,are limited due to its recent ***-TRK immunohistochemistry(IHC)analysis serves as an effective screening tool with high sensitivity and specificity for NTRK-fusion *** SUMMARY We report a case of a malignant mesenchymal tumor originating from the uterine cervix,which was pan-TRK IHC-positive but lacked NTRK gene fusions,accompanied by a brief literature review.A 55-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with abdominal pain and distension,exhibiting significant ascites and multiple solid pelvic *** examination revealed a tumor encompassing the uterine cervix,extending to the vagina and uterine corpus.A punch biopsy of the cervix indicated NTRK sarcoma with positive immunochemical pan-TRK ***,subsequent next generation sequencing revealed no NTRK gene fusion,leading to a diagnosis of poorly differentiated,advanced-stage *** The clinical significance of NTRK gene fusion lies in potential treatment with TRK inhibitors for positive *** such rare tumors is crucial due to the potential applicability of tropomyosin receptor kinase inhibitor treatment.

Objective: The objective of our study was to study the surgical activities carried out in the gynecology-obstetrics {2. of the CHU-YO (Teaching Hospital Yalgado Ouédraogo) from January 1st 2.15 to December 31st, 2.15. Patients and Methods: This dealt with a cross-cutting descriptive and analytic study with retrospective data collection. Our study has included the female patients who underwent surgery in the operating room and whose medical records were usable. Results: 45% of female patients admitted in the concerned {2. underwent a surgery. The average age of patients was estimated at 2..02.years ±7 years with extremes of 13 years and 80 years. Obstetrical surgery has involved 89.9% of cases. Female patients have received a loco-regional anesthesia in 92.7% of cases. Emergency surgical operations accounted for 88.8% and caesarean section was the main surgical operation carried out in 87.1% of cases. The mortality rate of the overall surgical operations was 1.04%. Conclusion: A better availability of labile blood products is more likely to reduce the mortality rate of surgical operations under the threshold of 1%.

Introduction: Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are a public health issue. An infection is said to be associated with the care if it occurs during or after the care of a patient, and if it was neither present nor incubation at the beginning of the care. Objective: The purpose of this work was to study the bacteriology of infections associated with obstetric care in the gynecology-obstetrics {2. of CHU Gabriel Touré. Patients and Methods: This is an epidemiological, descriptive, analytical study conducted in the gynecology-obstetrics {2. of the CHU Gabriel Touré, from April 11th, 2.16 to August 2.th, 2.16 (5 months). Data collection focused on the clinical and laboratory characteristics of healthcare-associated infections in patients during their hospitalization. Included in the study were any patients hospitalized in the gynecology and obstetrics {2. who agreed to participate in the study. The criteria used to diagnose the associated infection were those of the Atlanta CDC. Operative wound monitoring was done up to the 30th postoperative day. Results: We have recorded 2.0 patients, out of whom 138 were operated on and 2. cases of bacterial infection associated with care (11.50%). The average age of the patients was 32.52.years ± 13.36 years against 2..36 years ± 10.2. years for the patients who did not present the infection. Seven point five percent of the evacuated patients had an infection associated with care. The most common types of infection were surgical site infection (60.86%), urinary tract infection (2..08%), endometritis and sepsis with 13.04% each. The isolated organisms were all resistant to Amoxicillin, to Amoxicillin + Clavulanic acid (88.88%) and to Ciprofloxacin (77.77%). The average duration of hospitalization for patients who developed the infection was 14.70 days. The lethality was 1.50%. The average cost of management of patients who developed the surgical site infection was 119,837 FCFA. Conclusion: The bacterial infe

Tubal ligation is a surgical sterilization procedure that provides permanent and reliable contraception to women.?Tubal obstruction is a method of permanent birth control that can be performed after mini-laparotomy under local anesthesia. Objective:?To determine the outcome of tubal sterilizations by mini-laparotomy under local anesthesia performed in clients who underwent the surgical operation in the Maternity Ward of Ignace Deen National Hospital. Patients and Methods:?The gynecology and obstetrics {2. of Ignace Deen National Hospital was used as the place for the study. The study involved all the women seeking voluntary surgical contraception. This was a retrospective study of a descriptive type carried out from January 1, 2.17 to December 31, 2.18. A consent form was filled out and signed by spouses after an interview and a systematically carried out pre-operative clinical and para-clinical assessment. Results:?During the study period, 56 tubal ligations were performed i.e. 4.72.percent of all family planning methods. The recruiting for the surgical contraception involved clients whose typical profile is that of women with an average age of 35, mostly housewives (35.71%), major multiparous (69.63%) with 6 living children on average. Married women made up the bulk of the recruiting i.e. 96.44%. Unmarried women made much more use of other methods. Indications of personal convenience were the most frequently encountered common reason. Among medical causes, high blood?pressure concerned the majority of cases: 38% of the indications. Surgical contraception in between was more practiced than the post-partum one. The recorded complication was the parietal hematoma due to a lack of hemostasis and it accounted for 1.79% of cases. The progress was uncomplicated in?98.68% of cases. Forty couples (71.42.) expressed their feelings of satisfaction against only 6 cases of regret (10.71%). The centrosome is the microtubule-organizing center and a crucial part of cell division. Centrosomal RNAs(cnRNAs) have been reported to enable precise spatiotemporal control of gene expression during cell division in many species. Whether and how cnRNAs exist in C. elegans are unclear. Here, using the nuclear RNAi Argonaute protein NRDE-3 as a reporter, we observed potential peri-centrosome localized small interfering(si)RNAs in C. elegans. NRDE-3 was previously shown to associate with pre-mRNAs and pre-rRNAs via a process involving the presence of complementary siRNAs. We generated a GFP-NRDE-3 knock-in transgene through CRISPR/Cas9 technology and observed that NRDE-3 formed peri-centrosomal foci neighboring the tubulin protein TBB-2. other centriole proteins and pericentriolar material(PCM)components in C. elegans embryos. The peri-centrosomal accumulation of NRDE-3 depends on RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(RdRP)-synthesized 2.G siRNAs and the PAZ domain of NRDE-3, which is essential for siRNA binding. Mutation of eri-1, ergo-1, or drh-3 significantly increased the percentage of pericentrosome-enriched NRDE-3. At the metaphase of the cell cycle, NRDE-3 was enriched in both the peri-centrosomal region and the spindle. Moreover, the integrity of centriole proteins and pericentriolar material(PCM) components is also required for the peri-centrosomal accumulation of NRDE-3. Therefore, we concluded that siRNAs could accumulate in the pericentrosomal region in C. elegans and suggested that the peri-centrosomal region may also be a platform for RNAi-mediated gene regulation.

Human embryonic stem (hES) cells provide a promising supply of specific cell types for transplantation therapy. We presented here the method to induce differentiation of purified neural precursors from hES cells. hES cells (Line PKU-1 and Line PKU-2. were cultured in sus- pension in bacteriological Petri dishes, which differentiated into cystic embryoid bodies (EBs). The EBs were then cultured in N2.medium containing bFGF in poly-L-lysine-coated tissue culture dishes for two weeks. The central, small cells with 2.3 short processes of the spreading out- growth were isolated mechanically and replated. The resulting neurospheres were cultured in suspension for 10 days, then dissociated into single cell suspension with a Pasteur pipette and plated. Cells grew vigorously in an attached way and were passed every 4―5 days. Almost all the cells were proved nestin positive by immunostaining. Following withdrawal of bFGF, they differentiated into neurons expressing β-tubulin isotypeIII, GABA, serotonin and synaptophysin. Through induction of PDGF-AA, they differentiated into astrocytes expressing GFAP and oli- godendrocytes expressing O4. The results showed that hES cells can differentiate into typical neural precursors expressing the specific marker nestin and capable of generating all three cell types of the central nervous system (CNS) in vitro.
