BACKGROUND:Patients who present to the emergency department(ED)for suspected pulmonary embolism(PE)are often on active oral anticoagulation(AC).However,the diagnostic yield of computed tomography pulmonary angiography(CTPA)in screening for PE in patients who present on AC has not been well *** aim to investigate the diagnostic yield of CTPA in diagnosing PE depending on AC ***:We reviewed and analyzed the electronic medical records of patients who underwent CTPA for PE at a university hospital ED from June 1,2019,to March 25,*** outcome was the incidence of PE on CTPA depending on baseline AC status and indication for ***:Of 2,846 patients,242 were on AC for a history of venous thromboembolism(VTE),210 were on AC for other indications,and 2,394 were not on *** incidence of PE on CTPA was significantly lower in patients on AC for other indications(5.7%)when compared to patients on AC for prior VTE(24.3%)and patients not on AC at presentation(9.8%)(Pstory of *** status and indication for AC may affect pre-test probability of a positive CTPA,and AC status therefore warrants consideration as part of future diagnostic algorithms among patients with suspected PE.

Cuprotosis,a new type of cell death,provides great opportunities for the treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma,as nanocarriers of copper ions can induce cuprotosis and immunogenic ***,we studied an editor that enables production of a nanoparticle“storm”in oral squamous cell carcinoma,maximizing the toxic effect of these particles and reprogramming the tumor microenvironment;as a result,T cells and natural killer(NK)cells can infiltrate the tumor microenvironment to activate an antitumor immune *** this basis,the editor can be combined with optical therapy to improve patient *** this study,the metal ratio was regulated in response to the nanocarrier of acid response ***,in the presence of a specific copper ion content,the nanocarrier could change the permeability of the tumor cell *** on these results,the nanoparticles were cracked in an acidic environment and then released copper ***,the nanoparticles contributed to cuprotosis and immunogenic *** addition,the editor could inhibit murine oral cancer 1(MOC1)tumors in C57BL/6 without *** rate of tumor growth inhibition was as high as approximately 80%.This strategy provides a new idea for ***,it can improve the interaction between immunotherapy and the copper-induced death of oral squamous cell *** all,this study will provide a new opportunity for the effective treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Fibroblast growth factor21(FGF21)is a hormone that can balance nutrient fluctuations,control metabolic processes,and maintain energy *** FGF21 is produced by a variety of cell types,including hepatocytes,adipocytes,bone cells,myocardial cells,and pancreas cells,and act on various effector tissues such as brain,adipose tissue,liver,heart,and skeletal muscle.1 The target that FGF21 interacts with is the cell-surface receptor composed of FGF receptors in complex with the single-pass transmembrane proteinβ-*** receptors are abundantly expressed,both in peripheral tissues and some regions of the CNS,such as the hypothalamus and amygdala and the locus coeruleus(LC).2 Physiologically,FGF21 can be induced by various metabolic stresses,including hunger,protein deficiency,monosaccharides,and alcohol,by acting onβ-Klotho receptor in corresponding tissues,ultimately exerting regulatory effects(Fig.1)

Oxidative stress stemming from tissue exposure to constant hyperglycemia is one of the major pathogenetic pathways of diabetic macro-and microvascular complications. Diabetic polyneuropathy, commonly manifesting as distal,symmetrical sensorimotor polyneuropathy, is characterized by progressive severity of symptoms, with rates analogous to the quality of glycemic control achieved by the patients and physicians. Palliative care with analgesics and aggressive glycemic control often improve quality of life in the absence of causative treatment. Currently, there is a growing body of evidence indicating the role of microRNAs in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications, with emphasis on diabetic nephropathy and neuropathy. Therefore, in this review, we aim to explore the role of microRNAs and their polymorphisms in the pathophysiology of diabetic polyneuropathy, as well as, the possibility of novel diagnostic and therapeutic applications by epigenetic profiling and manipulation.
