Cryopreservation plays an essential role in biobanking and cell therapy,but the physiological toxicity of traditional cryoprotectants such as glycerol and dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO)has raised safety issues for biomedical ***,a nonreducing disaccharide that accumulates in desiccation-or cold-tolerant organisms,has been considered as a biocompatible ***,a naturally occurring membrane-active cationic peptide,melittin,was utilized to facilitate membraneimpermeable trehalose entry into cells for effective cell ***(ethylene glycol)and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)were applied as macromolecular protectants to improve the stabilization of cell *** the optimal protocol,the postthaw recovery of human red blood cells in freezing bags at a hematocrit of~50%could achieve 82.9%with favorable cell morphologies and physiological ***,the cryosurvival of L929 fibroblasts reached 84.3%compared to the conventional method using 1.%(v/v)*** short,this work by using trehalose and melittin provides a biocompatible solvent-free approach for long-term cryostorage of cells.

Most organic electrode materials （OEMs） for rechargeable batteries employ n-type redox {1.s, whose redox potentials are intrinsically limited materials possessing high redox potentials experience low specific capacities because they are capable of only a single redox reaction within the stable electrochemical window of typical ***, we report 5,1.-diethyl-5,1.-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazole （DEICZ） as a novel p-type OEM, exhibiting stable plateaus at high discharge potentials of3.44 and 4.09 V versus Li+/Li. Notably, the second redox potential of DEICZ is within the stable electrochemical window. The mechanism of the double redox reaction is investigated using both theoretical calculations and experimental measurements, including density functional theory calculations, ex situ electron spin resonance, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Finally,hybridization with single-walled carbon nanotubes （SWCNT） improves the cycle stability and rate performance of DEICZ owing to theπ–πinteractions between the SWCNT and co-planar molecular structure of DEICZ, preventing the dissolution of active materials into the electrolyte. The DEICZ/SWCNT composite electrode maintains 70.4%of its initial specific capacity at 1.C rate and also exhibits high-rate capability, even performing well at 1.0-C rate.

In this report,W^(6+)doping as a defect engineering strategy has been proposed to improve the electrochromic properties of NiO *** research was conducted to explore the electrochromic properties and the modified mechanism of W-doped NiO *** to the pure NiO,W-doped NiO film exhibits improved electrochromic properties with significant optical modulation(61.56%at 550 nm),fast switching speed(4.42 s/1.40 s for coloring/bleaching),high coloration efficiency(45.41.cm^(2)·C-1.and outstanding cycling stability(no significant attenuation after 2000 cycles)in Li-based *** functional theory(DFT)calculations combined with the experimental results indicate that the improved electrochromic properties were due to enhanced the electronic conductivity and ion conductivity after the introduction of W^(6+).The charge capacity of W-doped NiO has also been improved,and it can function with WO_(3) to achieve a high performance black electrochromic smart window(ECSW)by balancing *** work could advance the fundamental understanding of defect engineering as an effective strategy to boost the electrochromic properties of NiO anodic material,manifesting a significant development as a candidate counter electrode in high-performance black smart windows.

To enhance the resistance of SiC_(f)/SiC to hydrothermal corrosion in the pressurized water reactor(PWR)environment,structurally tunable Ti_(3)SiC(2)-based corrosion mitigation coatings for SiC_(f)/SiC were prepared using molten salt *** influence of various process parameters,such as Si/Ti molar ratio in raw materials,annealing time,and annealing temperature,on the phase composition and the structure of the coatings was *** the process control,the fabricated coatings can be either Ti_(3)SiC(2) monolithic structure or TiC/Ti_(3)SiC(2) and TiC/Ti_(3)SiC(2)/Ti_(5)Si_(3)C_(x) multilayered *** coatings demonstrate strong bonding to the substrate due to in-situ reaction,exhibiting tensile and shear strength of at least 26.9 and 30.8 MPa,*** TiC as a transition layer further enhances the tensile and shear strength to 41.3 and 51.4 MPa,*** Ti_(3)SiC(2) coatings enhance the thermal conductivity of SiC_(f)/SiC by 1.%–1.%.Notably,Ti_(3)SiC(2) coatings effectively protect SiC_(f)/SiC from hydrothermal corrosion,demonstrating an 83%strength retention rate compared to 71.in the control group after ***,the Ti5Si3Cx layer exhibits unsatisfactory corrosion *** Ti_(3)SiC(2) monolithic coating has higher thermal conductivity,TiC/Ti_(3)SiC(2) multi-layered coating has higher bonding strength,and both have desirable resistance to the hydrothermal corrosion.

Vertically oriented carbon structures constructed from low-dimen-sional carbon materials are ideal frameworks for high-performance thermal inter-face materials(TIMs).However,improving the interfacial heat-transfer efficiency of vertically oriented carbon structures is a challenging ***,an orthotropic three-dimensional(3D)hybrid carbon network(VSCG)is fabricated by depositing vertically aligned carbon nanotubes(VACNTs)on the surface of a horizontally oriented graphene film(HOGF).The interfacial interaction between the VACNTs and HOGF is then optimized through an annealing *** regulating the orientation structure of the VACNTs and filling the VSCG with polydimethylsi-loxane(PDMS),VSCG/PDMS composites with excellent 3D thermal conductive properties are *** highest in-plane and through-plane thermal conduc-tivities of the composites are 1.3.61.and 24.37 W m^(-1.K^(-1.,*** high contact area of HOGF and good compressibility of VACNTs imbue the VSCG/PDMS composite with low thermal *** addition,the interfacial heat-transfer efficiency of VSCG/PDMS composite in the TIM performance was improved by 71.3%compared to that of a state-of-the-art thermal *** new structural design can potentially realize high-performance TIMs that meet the need for high thermal conductivity and low contact thermal resistance in interfacial heat-transfer processes.

Transition metal-nitrogen-carbon(M-N-C)as a promising substitute for the conventional noble metalbased catalyst still suffers from low activity and durability for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs).To tackle the issue,herein,a new type of sulfur-doped ironnitrogen-hard carbon(S-Fe-N-HC)nanosheets with high activity and durability in acid media were developed by using a newly synthesized precursor of amide-based polymer with Fe ions based on copolymerizing two monomers of 2,5-thiophene dicarboxylic acid(TDA)as S source and 1.8-diaminonaphthalene(DAN)as N source via an amination *** as-synthesized S-Fe-N-HC features highly dispersed atomic Fe Nxmoieties embedded into rich thiophene-S doped hard carbon nanosheets filled with highly twisted graphite-like microcrystals,which is distinguished from the majority of M-N-C with soft or graphitic carbon *** unique characteristics endow S-Fe-N-HC with high ORR activity and outstanding durability in 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4).Its initial half-wave potential is 0.80 V and the corresponding loss is only 21.m V after 30,000 ***,its practical PEMFC performance is a maximum power output of 628.0 mW cm^(-2)and a slight power density loss is 83.0 m W cm^(-2)after 200-cycle practical ***,theoretical calculation shows that the activity of Fe Nxmoieties on ORR can be further enhanced by sulfur doping at meta-site near FeN_(4)*** results evidently demonstrate that the dual effect of hard carbon substrate and S doping derived from the precursor platform of amid-polymers can effectively enhance the activity and durability of Fe-N-C catalysts,providing a new guidance for developing advanced M-N-C catalysts for ORR.

Polypropylene is commonly used as a binder for ceramic injection molding,and rapid cooling is often encountered during ***,the crystallization behavior of polypropylene shows a strong dependence on cooling rate due to its semi-crystalline ***,the influence of cooling rate on the quality of final product cannot be *** this study,the fast differential scanning calorimetry(FSC)test was performed to study the influence of cooling rate on the non-isothermal crystallization behavior and non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of a copolymer polypropylene(PP BC03B).The results show that the crystallization temperatures and crystallinity decrease as the cooling rate *** addition,two exothermic peaks occur when cooling rate ranges from 30 to 300 K·s^(-1.,indicating the formation of another crystal ***,Ozawa and Mo equations were used to explore the non-isothermal crystallization kinetics,and it can be concluded that the Mo method is suitable for this study.

Although the discovery of insulin 1.0 years ago revolutionized the treatment of diabetes,its therapeutic potential is compromised by its short half-life and narrow therapeutic *** long-acting insulin analogs,such as insulin-polymer conjugates,are mainly used to improve pharmacokinetics by reducing renal ***,these conjugates are synthesized without sacrificing the bioactivity of insulin,thus retaining the narrow therapeutic index of native insulin,and exceeding the efficacious dose still leads to ***,we report a kind of di-PEGylated insulin that can simultaneously reduce renal clearance and receptor-mediated *** impairing the binding affinity to the receptor and the activation of the receptor,di-PEGylated insulin not only further prolongs the half-life of insulin compared to classical mono-PEGylated insulin but most importantly,increases its maximum tolerated dose *** target of long-term glycemic management in vivo has been achieved through improved pharmacokinetics and a high *** work represents an essential step towards long-acting insulin medication with superior safety in reducing hypoglycemic events.
