Numerical simulation of hemodynamics under the combined effects of both the host blood vessel and the microvascular network, which is based on a 2-D tumor inside and outside vascular network generated from a discrete mathematical model of tumor-induced angiogenesis, is performed systemically. And a ＂microvascular network-- transport across microvascular network--flow in interstitium＂ model is developed to study the flow in solid tumor. Simulations are carried out to examine the effects of the variations of the inlet Reynolds number in the host blood vessel, the hydraulic conductivity of the microvascular wall, and interstitial hydraulic conductivity coefficient on the fluid flow in tumor microcirculation. The results are consistent with data obtained in terms of physiology. These results may provide some theoretical references and the bases for further clinical experimental research.

The microstructures of different treated Al-5Mg-0.5Sc-0. 1Zr alloys have been studied with opticalmicroscopy and transmission electron microscope (TEM). Coherent particles with the matrix were found inas-cast sample. composite Al3Sc/Al3Zr particles were found after 13 h homogenized treatment under 470℃.Coherent precipitates pinned dislocations and low-angle grain boundaries. and then restrained recrystallization. All kinds of particles of different treatments were not larger than 40nm. After high-temperaturestabilization treatments, most particles remain coherent with the matrix. The reasons of microstructurechange at different treated conditions have been analyzed.

Recent advances in swine protein nutrition are characterized by the development of functional a- mino acids （AA） in regulating fetal and postnatal survival, growth and development. These AA include arginine, glutamine, glutamate, proline, leucine, cyste- ine and tryptophan. Due to limited knowledge on AA nutrition, pork producers have traditionally paid little attention to supplementing the arginine family of AA to swine diets. Results of recent studies indicate that functional AA serve important regulatory functions in nutrient metabolism, protein turnover, and immune function, therefore enhancing efficiency of feed utili- zation by pigs. The underlying mechanisms include activation of nitric oxide, mammalian target of rapam- ycin, gaseous signaling, and AMP-activated protein ki- nase pathways, as well as anti-oxidative function. Di- etary supplementation with arginine, glutamine, pro- line or leucine to weanling piglets enhances theirgrowth performance. Arginine or glutamine is also ef- fective in increasing milk production by lactating sows. Furthermore, supplementing arginine to the diet of pregnant gilts between days 30 and 114 of gestation increases the number of live-born piglets and litter birth-weight. Availability of feed-grade functional AA holds great promise for improving animal health and nutrient utilization in pig production worldwide. Addi- tionally, feedstuffs of animal origin [ e. g. , blood meal （ ring dried ）, feather meal （ hydrolyzed ）, meat and bone meal, porcine protein meal, and poultry by-prod- uct meal （both feed- and petfood-grades） ] are excel- lent and cost-effective sources of both essential and functional AA for formulating balanced swine diets. New knowledge on AA nutrition provides a much needed scientific basis for revising the next edition of swine nutrient requirements.

Bone is one of the preferred sites for the metastasis of malignant tumours,such as breast cancer,lung cancer and malignant *** cells colonizing bone have the capacity to induce the expression of receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand(RANKL),which promotes osteoclast differentiation and ***-induced osteoclastic bone resorption leads to a vicious cycle between tumours and bone cells that fuels osteolytic tumour growth,causing bone pain and ***,RANKL contributes to bone metastasis by acting as a chemoattractant to bone for tumour cells that express its receptor,*** inhibition of the RANKL–RANK pathway is a promising treatment for bone metastasis,and a human monoclonal anti-RANKL antibody,denosumab,has been used in the ***,orally available drugs targeting RANKL must be developed to increase the therapeutic benefits to *** we report the efficacy of the small-molecule RANKL inhibitor AS2676293 in treating bone metastasis using mouse *** administration of AS2676293 markedly inhibited bone metastasis of human breast cancer cells MDA-MB-231-5a-D-Luc2 as well as tumour-induced ***2676293 suppressed RANKLmediated tumour migration in the transwell assay and inhibited bone metastasis of the murine cell line B16F10,which is known not to trigger osteoclast *** on the results from this study,RANKL inhibition with a small-molecule compound constitutes a promising therapeutic strategy for treating bone metastasis by inhibiting both osteoclastic bone resorption and tumour migration to bone.

Potentiodynamic polarisation, potential-time measurements, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (IR) have been used to investigate the effect of different concentrations of Na2SO4 in the absence and presence of NaCI, on the corrosion of Cu-alloy. The electrochemical measurements showed that the increase of Na2SO4 concentration led to increase the corrosion current density of Cu alloy and vice versa. The presence of NaCI shifted the potential to more cathodic potential, which had a great influence on the protectiveness of the Cu oxide layer formed on the surface in presence of Na2SO4. The spectrometric measurements indicated the constituents of the film formed on the alloy surface were mainly Cu2O, in addition to the oxides, NiO and Fe2O3, which were traced by XRD analysis.

The influence of oxygen partial pressure on the Fermi level of ZnO films prepared by pulsed laser deposition is *** contact potential difference of the ZnO films fabricated under various oxygen partial pressures is studied systematically using Kelvin probe force *** Fermi level shifted by 0.35 eV as oxygen partial pressure *** indicates a significant change in the electronic structure and energy balance in ZnO *** fact provides a consistent explanation that the changes in carrier concentration,resistivity and mobility of ZnO films are attributed to oxygen vacancy induced shift of the Fermi level.
