A new GIS-compatible methodology for visibility analysis in digital surface models of earth sites

As a GIS tool,visibility analysis is used in many areas to evaluate both visible and non-visible *** analysis builds on a digital surface model describing the terrain morphology,including the position and shapes of all objects that can sometimes act as visibility ***,some barriers,for example vegetation,may be permeable to a certain *** extensive research and use of visibility analysis in different areas,standard GIS tools do not take permeability into *** article presents a new method to calculate visibility through partly permeable *** method is based on a quasi-Monte Carlo simulation with 100 iterations of visibility *** iteration result represents 1%of vegetation permeability,which can thus range from 1%to 100%visibility behind vegetation *** main advantage of the method is greater accuracy of visibility results and easy implementation on any GIS *** incorporation of the proposed method in GIS software would facilitate work in many fields,such as architecture,archaeology,radio communication,and the military.

This paper presents an efficient method for implementing visibility analysis on complex landscapes based on an improved LOS (line of sight) algorithm. The method determines the viewshed by analyzing the geometric relationship between the target points and viewpoint. It differentiates the visibility of the target points by the elevation information. Eventually the visual results related to the given viewpoint are rendered on three-dimensional landscapes. The visibility of some target points is computed by comparing their elevations with the viewpoint's height, thus is able to enhance the efficiency of the visibility analysis. This method can not only be applied in the visibility analysis of forest scenes, but also used in the analysis of the urban environment. Experiments show that the proposed method results in high efficiency and precision.

Assessing the visualization of space and traffic volume using GIS-based processing and visibility parameters of space syntax

Streets and physical layouts can be inherent in a sustainable city by emphasizing the use of space with planned strategies by promoting the movement of people and social behaviors for enhancing an economic *** analysis of the space layout is beneficial for defining the urban areas that can affect street behavior.A GIS incorporated with a space syntax can help to propagate the effectiveness of a spatial analysis in a study on urban *** integration of the computational pieces of both a GIS analytical tool and space syntax parameters will stimulate research oriented urban systems and spatial morphologies combined with a spatial ***,the development of livability can be affected by a set of parameters that define the used ***,this paper was aimed at examining the space syntax parameters for space visualization to evaluate street behavior using the GIS processing and space syntax *** this study,a spatial analysis was used to generate spatial information on traffic volume,while a space syntax was used to test the street ***,a predictive analysis was conducted to identify the correlation between traffic behavior and a set of *** results showed that integration and direct visibility were significant to the traffic *** of the streets that were linked to the commercial area showed high integration and direct visibility,which increased by more than half,compared with the unlinked *** on the statistical analysis,both parameters recorded aprobability of less than 5%.The results showed that any space designed with a continuous,direct and clear traffic volume will lead to increased integration and direct visibility,thus influencing a natural vehicle movement.

Co-Frequency Interference analysis Between Ultra-Large-Scale NGSO Constellations and GSO Systems

The rejuvenation of non-geostationary orbit(NGSO)satellite communication holds the promise of seamless and ubiquitous broadband access from the ***,the NGSO constellations must share the scarce radio spectrum resources with geostationary orbit(GSO)satellite systems,which results in dynamically changing and unevenly distributed interference to GSO *** this context,the ultra-large-scale NGSO constellation incurs a more complicated interference environment with GSO systems,which raises urgent demands on inter-system interference *** this case,we investigate the inter-system downlink interference from a NGSO satellite mega-constellation to a GSO earth ***,we consider the scenario where the NGSO and GSO earth stations are co-located,and apply a novel visibility analysis method in the interference modeling to reduce computation *** interference evaluation is then performed through comprehensive simulations,in which the Starlink constellation with more than 4000 satellites is examined for the first *** simulation results demonstrate various states of interference on the GSO earth station at different deployment *** reveals that the number of visible satellites could influence the angle between the main lobe directions of NGSO satellites and the GSO earth station antenna,which further affects the interference level.

The characteristic of satellite communication link was firstly described and four application modes were put forward. By comparison, it is suggested that microwave link is used in satellite-to-ground communication and laser link is used in inter-satellite communication. Secondly the condition and composition of laser link establishment was analyzed and laser link model was set up, and the principle and composition of APT system was described. Finally, based on STK and MATLAB platform, the process of inter-satellite laser link establishment was designed, and setting the scene of TDRS capturing and tracking user’s satellite as an example, simulation was realized and demonstrated.
