Dear Editor,Dishevelled-2(DVL2)is a central adaptor protein that propagates signals from upstream receptors to downstream effectorβ-catenin in canonical Wnt signaling.At high local concentration,DVL2 assembles into signalosomes through DIX domain-mediated homo-polymerization to provide a docking platform for the recruitment of signaling components,which is critical for Wnt signaling transduction and activation;1 however,the exact underlying mechanism remains inconclusive.Although the roles of phosphorylation and ubiquitination in DVL2-puncta formation have been discussed before,2 the impact of lysine acetylation of DVL2 on this process remains elusive.Here we investigated the effect of acetylation on DVL2-puncta formation.

Since the beginning of the year,capacity of silicon material in upstream photovoltaic(PV)industry chain has been greatly released on a large scale,leading to a fall in price of the entire chain and a great increase in installation in PV power stations.PV enterprises made huge progress in their performance in Q1 Longi Green Energy,a leading PV enterprise,recently released its Q1 report this year,indicating that its net profit during the period was RMB 3.6 billion,a YOY increase of 37%.

Oil and gas industries are facing several challenges and issues in data processing and handling.Large amount of data bank is generated with various techniques and processes.The proper technical analysis of this database is to be carried out to improve performance of oil and gas industries.This paper provides a comprehensive state-of-art review in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence to solve oil and gas industry problems.It also narrates the various types of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques which can be used for data processing and interpretation in different sectors of upstream oil and gas industries.The achievements and developments promise the benefits of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques towards large data storage capabilities and high efficiency of numerical calculations.In this paper a summary of various researchers work on machine learning and artificial intelligence applications and limitations is showcased for upstream and sectors of oil and gas industry.The existence of this extensive intelligent system could really eliminate the risk factor and cost of maintenance.The development and progress using this emerging technologies have become smart and makes the judgement procedure easy and straightforward.The study is useful to access intelligence of different machine learning methods to declare its application for distinct task in oil and gas sector.

Total mercury(THg)levels were determined in sediment(n=22)and muscle of Clarias gariepinus(n=36)in dry and rainy seasons from Akaki River catchment and Aba Samuel Reservoir,Ethiopia in 2016-2017.The analyses of THg were performed using cold vapor-atomic absorption spectrometer(CV-AAS)after acid digestion technique.The relationship of THg levels to size of the fish has also been investigated.The THg levels in sediments range from 9.5e43.8 mg/kg dry wt in the dry and 20.6e175.4 mg/kg dry wt in the rainy seasons.This study indicated that the levels of THg in sediments varies spatially and seasonally.In both seasons,THg levels increased from upstream to downstream areas,revealing increased anthropogenic inputs of mercury pollution.It was also found that the THg concentrations in all the sediment samples were below the US EPA guideline value of 200 mg/kg dry wt.The THg levels in Clarias gariepinus were in the range from 360e924 mg/kg dry wt in the dry and 325e1233 mg/kg dry wt in the rainy seasons,and had positive relationship to the total length and body weight.The THg concentrations found in Clarias gariepinus were within the acceptable guidelines of the FAO/WHO.Therefore,the muscle of Clarias gariepinus from the study area is not hazardous to human health with respect to mercury.However,the average value of THg seems to be slightly higher than results reported from other Ethiopian freshwater bodies.Thus,monitoring of mercury species in sediment and different organs of fish are strongly recommended.

Flavonoids play important roles in regulating plant growth and development.In this study,three kaempferol 3-O-glycosides were identi fi ed and mainly accumulated in fl owers but not in leaves or fruits of Malus.In Malus,fl ower petal color is normally white,but some genotypes have red fl owers containing anthocyanin.Anthocyanin biosynthesis appears to be in competition with kaempferol 3-O-glycosides production and controlled by the biosynthetic genes.The white fl ower Malus genotypes had better-developed seeds than the red fl ower genotypes.In fl owers,the overexpression of MYB10 in Malus domestica enhanced the accumulation of anthocyanin,but decreased that of kaempferol 3-O-glycosides.After pollination the transgenic plants showed slower pollen tube growth and fewer developed seeds.Exogenous application ofdifferent fl avonoid compounds suggested that kaempferol 3-O-glycosides,especially kaempferol 3-O-rhamnoside,regulated pollen tube growth and seed set rather than cyanidin or quercetin 3-O-glycosides.It was found that kaempferol 3-O-rhamnoside might regulate pollen tube growth through effects on auxin,the Rho of plants(ROP)GTPases,calcium and the phosphoinositides signaling pathway.With the inhibition of auxin transport,the transcription levels of Heat Shock Proteins(HSPs)and ROP GTPases were downregulated while the levels were not changed or even enhanced when blocking calcium signaling,suggesting that HSPs and ROP GTPases were downstream of auxin signaling,but upstream of calcium signaling.In summary,kaempferol glycoside concentrations in pistils correlated with auxin transport,the transcription of HSPs and ROP GTPases,and calcium signaling in pollen tubes,culminating in changes to pollen tube growth and seed set.

In fleshy fruits,organic acids are the main source of fruit acidity and play an important role in regulating osmotic pressure,pH homeostasis,stress resistance,and fruit quality.The transport of organic acids from the cytosol to the vacuole and their storage are complex processes.A large number of transporters carry organic acids from the cytosol to the vacuole with the assistance of various proton pumps and enzymes.However,much remains to be explored regarding the vacuolar transport mechanism of organic acids as well as the substances involved and their association.In this review,recent advances in the vacuolar transport mechanism of organic acids in plants are summarized from the perspectives of transporters,channels,proton pumps,and upstream regulators to better understand the complex regulatory networks involved in fruit acid formation.

This work provides a description of oil leak/spill processes from containment such as pipeline. Understanding of such processes is important in order to adequately estimate oil spills and to justify an appropriate emergency action for minimizing spills. Internal diameters of pipes used in the study are within 4 inches. Leaks are simulated from plastic pipeline oil containment fitted with valves. The leak response with time when upstream and downstream valves are operated is studied. Within the internal diameters of pipelines considered in the tests, two ranges of leak characteristics are evident;the “holding range” and the “flowing range” characteristics. The consequences of these characteristics in the oil industry operations have been discussed. The work suggests a spill estimation method based on this knowledge. Furthermore, in order to minimise spill in event of pipeline failure, it is observed that the optimum action on pipeline operational valves, is the immediate closure of upstream valve, followed by the downstream valve, nearly simultaneously. Future work will extend the test to larger diameter pipelines to attempt developing a mathematical approach for estimating limits of the “holding range” characteristics of pipelines given appropriate parameters and in-field test.

The p27Kip1 is a cell cycle repressor protein that regulates primarily the cell cycle transition from G1 to S phase and hence the DNA replication is in the S phase and cell division in the M phase. Expression of p27Kip1 protein has dual roles for both cancer prevention and promotion. For example, numerous nutritional and chemopreventive anti-cancer agents specifically increase the expression of p27Kip1 protein without directly affecting the expression of any other cell cycle regulatory proteins. On the other hand, pro-cancer agents (like glucose, insulin and other growth factors frequently seen in obesity and/or diabetes) specifically decrease the expression of p27Kip1 protein without directly affecting the expression of any other cell cycle regulatory proteins. Unlike expression of any other cell cycle regulatory proteins, expression of p27Kip1 protein is very unusual. The mRNA of p27Kip1 has a very long and unusual 5’-untranslated region (from -575 to -1 in human). It appears that the 5’-untranslated region of p27Kip1 mRNA forms two alternative secondary structures. One increases the expression of p27Kip1 protein when anti-cancer agents are added and another decrease the expression of p27K1p1 when pro-cancer agents are added. For this short concept proposal, Dr. Albert Einstein’s “visualized thought experiments (German: Gedanken experiment)” were used as a fundamental tool for understanding how either anti- or pro-cancer agents bring the primary structure of the 5’-untranslated region of p27Kip1 mRNA into two alternative secondary structures, thereby either increasing or decreasing, respectively, the translation initiation of p27Kip1 protein.
