Xiaoke Decoction in treatment of type ⅱ diabetes:A Meta-analysis

Objective:To systematically evaluate the clinical effect of Xiaoke Decoction in the treatment of type 2 ***:Chinese databases such as CNKI,Wanfang,Weipu Chinese Biomedical Journal Database,and Chinese Medical Biological Literature Database,Pub Med,Cochrane Library,Embase,and Web of Science were searched for English language literature from their inception until November 2019.A Meta-analysis was performed using Rev Man 5.3 and Stata ***:Thirty-eight studies were included in this study,with a total of 3757 *** was found that adding Xiaoke Decoction could improve total *** Xiaoke Decoction groups surpassed the western medicine groups regarding improvement in total efficiency(OR = 3.49;95% CI:2.78–4.39,P < 0.00001).Adding Xiaoke Decoction could lower the fasting plasma glucose(FPG) *** Xiaoke Decoction groups surpassed the western medicine groups regarding reduction in FPG levels(MD =-1.14;95% CI:-1.36 to 0.92,P < 0.00001).Adding Xiaoke Decoction could lower the 2 h postprandial blood glucose(2 h PG) *** Xiaoke Decoction groups surpassed the western medicine groups regarding reduction in 2 h PG(MD =-1.40;95% CI:-1.61 to 1.19,P < 0.00001).Adding Xiaoke Decoction could lower glycated hemoglobin(Hb A1 c).The Xiaoke Decoction groups surpassed the western medicine groups regarding reduction in Hb A1 c(MD =-0.77;95% CI:-0.95 to 0.58,P < 0.00001).It was found that adding Xiaoke Decoction could lower the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndrome *** TCM syndrome scores among patients in the Xiaoke Decoction group were lower than those among patients in the control group after treatment(MD =-4.90;95% CI:-7.22 to 2.57,P < 0.0001).At the same time,we conducted a subgroup and sensitivity analysis of age and intervention duration on the heterogeneity of total efficiency,FPG,2 h PG,Hb Alc,and TCM syndrome score outcome *** detecting publication bias,an egger test was ***:Compared with western medi

Objective We performed a longitudinal analysis based on MR imaging to investigate the brain structural and perfusion changes caused by insulin therapy in patients with type Ⅱ *** High resolution three-dimensional T1-weighted fast spoiled gradient recalled echo images and flow-sensitive alternating inversion recovery（FAIR） images were obtained from 11 patients with type ⅱ diabetes before and one year after initiation of insulin therapy and 11 normal *** volume changes were investigated by a longitudinal voxel-based morphometry,and perfusion changes were evaluated by FAIR imaging between baseline and follow-up *** Significant regional gray matter expansion located in bilateral frontal,parietal,and left occipital lobes,and regional white matter expansion was shown in left precentral subcortical white matter and right angular subcortical white matter after insulin therapy（P ＜ 0.05 with FDR correction）.Brain hyperperfusion was detected in bilateral frontal cortex,left occipital cortex,and right temporal cortex after insulin therapy（P ＜ 0.05）.Conclusions In patients with type ⅱ diabetes,brain expansion and hyperperfusion were demonstrated one year after initiation of insulin therapy,and insulin therapy could contribute to the brain volume gainment in the patients with type ⅱ diabetes.

Abnormal glycosylation of glycoprotein often associates with development of ***,little is known about the relationship between the specific glycopatterns of glycoprotein in human body fluids（saliva,serum and urine）and typeⅡ*** aim of this study was to investigate the specific glycopatterns of glycoproteins in body fluids of patients with typeⅡdiabetes and reveal the correlation between the specific glycopatterns in human body fluids and typeⅡ*** fluid samples（whole saliva,serum and urine）were collected from patients and healthy *** to the age and genders,the specimens from patients and healthy controls were divided into three groups（young men,elderly men and elderly women）.Lectin microarrays were utilized to investigate the glycopatterns of glycoproteins in body fluids of patients and healthy *** results revealed that expression level of fucosea1-2Galβ1-4GlcNAc,Galβ-1,4G1cNAc,αGalNAc and terminal GalNAc were increased,meanwhile,fucoseα-1,6GlcNAc andαfucose were decreased in saliva specimens of all patients *** level of fucoseal-2Galβ1-4GlcNAc,terminal GalNAc and Sia2-3Galβ1-4GlcNAc were increased in all specimens of body fluids from young *** fluid protein microarrays and lectin blotting were used to verify the terminal carbohydrate moieties of glycoproteins in individual samples.

Objective:To investigate the morphological changes of the neuronal neurites in diabetic rabbit brain. Methods: Twenty- four New Zealand White rabbits were divided into 2 groups: control group and type Ⅱ diabetic group induced by high - carbohydrate and high- fat diet. The levels of blood sugar and insulin were detected at week 0(w0), w4, w8, w13, w18, w23 and w28. Brain tissue was stained by Nissl staining and immunolistochemistry with a specific antibody to neurofilament proteins. Result: In diabetic rabbits, the amount of large pyramidal neuron was significantly reduced, and neuronal neurites became swollen, whorled, disrupted and changed in caliber. In hippocampus CA1 region neurofilament staining was very weak. Conclusion: Neurotoxicity of chronic hyperglycemia might be relevant to vascular chronic complications, which affected the expression of NF and led to neurophysiological and structural changes in the brain of rabbits with type ⅱ diabetes.
