Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterizations of the Mono-and Bimolecular Iron(Ⅲ)Complexes by the Interaction With tris Buffer in Neutralized Media:Biological and Morphological Investigations

The reaction of iron(Ⅲ)anions,FeCl 3 and Fe 2(SO 4)3 with tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane(tris)in a 1∶2 molar ratio affords the new coordination compounds NH 4[Fe 2(tris)2(H 2O)4(SO 4)](Ⅰ)and NH 4[Fe(tris)2(H 2O)2](Ⅱ).These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis,and their molecular structures were determined by spectroscopic methods(infrared and electronic spectra),magnetic susceptibility,and molar conductivity measurements,and further corroborated by thermo gravimetric analysis and its differential(TGA/DrTGA).According to the experimental data,the complexes can be characterized in the solid state as mono-and binuclear,with a distorted octahedral *** distorted octahedral stereochemistry adopted by the complexes was confirmed by the magnetic susceptibility measurement of NH 4[Fe 2(tris)2(H 2O)4(SO 4)],which consists of a six-coordinate iron atoms in a distorted octahedral environment constructed from four O atoms(two tris molecules),two O atoms from the loosely associated SO 4 coordinated ligand,and O,N of second tris molecule with occupying by four oxygen atoms of coordinated water ***,NH 4[Fe(tris)2(H 2O)2]complex the mono iron atom is surrounded by six oxygen atoms as four by two tris molecules and two coordinated water molecules in axial *** and anticancer activities of the complexes were studied and the complexes were screened against bacteria,colorectal adenocarcinoma(Caco-2)and breast cancer(Mcf-7)cell lines.

Seasonal variations of tris (2-chloroethyl) phosphate and cytotoxicity of organic extracts in water samples from Wuhan, China

tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate(TCEP) is a typical phosphate flame retardant. Its potential adverse health effects have recently aroused concern. We investigated the seasonal variations of TCEP concentrations in the raw, finished and tap water samples from two drinking water treatment plants(DWTPs) in China, and evaluated the cytotoxicity and apoptosis/necrosis of organic extracts(OEs) in water samples. We enriched TCEP and OEs in water samples by solid-phase extraction method. The TCEP concentrations in water samples were determined by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Normal human liver cell line L02 was treated with OEs in the water samples, and then the cytotoxicity and apoptosis/necrosis were measured by 3-(4, 5-dimethyithiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide assay and flow cytometry, respectively. The results showed that cytotoxicities of OEs in raw water samples from both DWTPs in summer and winter were stronger than those in spring and autumn, cytotoxicity of OEs in finished and tap water samples from both DWTPs in summer and autumn were stronger than those in spring and winter. In all seasons, the maximal concentrations(100 mL water/mL cell culture) of OEs in the raw water samples from both DWTPs induced late apoptosis/necrosis. The reasons for seasonal variations of TCEP in water samples and potential toxic effects of other pollutants in the water samples need to be further investigated.

Triarylamines with branched multi-pyridine groups： modulation of emission properties by structural variation, solvents,and tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane

Six triarylamine derivatives 1–6 with branched multi-pyridine substituents were prepared and characterized. These compounds are distinguished by the substituent on one of the phenyl group with NO2 for 1, CN for 2, Cl for 3, p-C6 H4 OMe for 4, OMe for 5,and NMe2 for 6, respectively. As revealed by single crystal X-ray analysis, these substituents play an important role in determining the configuration of the triarylamine framework and the crystal packing of 1–6. The emission properties of these compounds were examined in different solvents(toluene, CH2 Cl2, acetone, tetrahydrofuran(THF), and N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF)) and in solid states. Distinct dual emissions from the localized emissive state and the intramolecular charge transfer state were observed for compound 5 in CH2 Cl2. Compounds 1 and 6 show apparent aggregated enhanced emissions in acetone/H2 *** emission properties of these compounds were further modulated by the addition of tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane. In addition, density functional theory(DFT) and time-dependent DFT(TDDFT) calculations have been performed on the ground and singlet excited states to complement the experimental findings.

In vitro corrosion of magnesium alloy AZ31-a synergetic influence of glucose and tris

Biodegradable Mg alloys have generated great interest for biomedical applications. Accurate predictions of in vivo degradation of Mg alloys through costeffective in vitro evaluations require the latter to be conducted in an environment close to that of physiological scenarios. However, the roles of glucose and buffering agents in regulating the in vitro degradation performance of Mg alloys has not been elucidated. Herein, degradation behavior of AZ31 alloy is investigated by hydrogen evolution measurements, pH monitoring and electrochemical tests. Results indicate that glucose plays a content-dependent role in degradation of AZ31 alloy in buffer-free saline solution. The presence of a low concentration of glucose, i.e. 1.0 g/L, decreases the corrosion rate of Mg alloy AZ31, whereas the presence of 2.0 and 3.0 glL glucose accelerates the corrosion rate during long term immersion in saline solution. In terms of tris-buffered saline solution, the addition of glucose increases pH value and promotes pitting corrosion or general corrosion of AZ31 alloy. This study provides a novel perspective to understand the bio-corrosion of Mg alloys in buffering agents and glucose containing solutions.

New insights into the effect of tris-HCl and tris on corrosion of magnesium alloy in presence of bicarbonate,sulfate,hydrogen phosphate and dihydrogen phosphate ions

In vitro degradation is an important approach to screening appropriate biomedical magnesium（Mg） alloys at low cost. However, corrosion products deposited on Mg alloys exert a critical impact on corrosion resistance. There are no acceptable criteria on the evaluation on degradation rate of Mg alloys. Understanding the degradation behavior of Mg alloys in presence of tris buffer is necessary. An investigation was made to compare the influence of tris-HCl and tris on the corrosion behavior of Mg alloy AZ31 in the presence of various anions of simulated body fluids via hydrogen evolution, p H value and electrochemical *** results demonstrated that the tris-HCl buffer resulted in general corrosion due to the inhibition of the formation of corrosion products and thus increased the corrosion rate of the AZ31 alloy. Whereas tris gave rise to pitting corrosion or general corrosion due to the fact that the hydrolysis of the amino-group of tris led to an increase in solution p H value, and promoted the formation of corrosion products and thus a significant reduction in corrosion rate. In addition, the corrosion mechanisms in the presence of tris-HCl and tris were proposed. tris-HCl as a buffer prevented the formation of precipitates of HCO;, SO;,HPO;and H;PO;ions during the corrosion of the AZ31 alloy due to its lower buffering p H value（x.x）.Thus, both the hydrogen evolution rate and corrosion current density of the alloy were approximately one order of magnitude higher in presence of tris-HCl than tris and tris-free saline solutions.

Synthesis and Relaxation Properties of Lanthanide(Gd ,Yb) Complexeswith tris Modified DTPA

Synthesis and characterization of NMR T-1 relaxation properties of the title complexes and several transition metal-EDTA-bis[ tris(hydroxymethyl methylamide] complexes were performed for searching new contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). The ligands, abbr. to DTPA-Btris and EDTA-Btris, were obtained by modifying DTPA and EDTA with tris(hydroxymethyl) aminomethane. It was found that the relaxivities of solutions of the modified complexes in vitro are correspondingly greater than those of the parent complexes. For GdDTPA-Btris, MnEDTA-Btris, and FeEDTA-Btris, the relaxometry of lattice relaxation(R-1) is 5.4, 3.1, and 1.9 ***(-1).s(-1) vs. 5.2, 2.8 and 1.7 ***(-1).s(-1) for GdDTPA, MnEDTA, and FeEDTA, respectively. Additionally, the present complexes have the favorable properties such as high water solubility and chemical stability required of clinical useful contrast agent.

Detection of tris-(2, 3-dibromopropyl) isocyanurate as a neuronal toxicant in environmental samples using neuronal toxicity-directed analysis

Neuronal toxic pollutants in environment possess hazards to human health. It is essential to determine the causative neuronal toxicants in environmental samples. In the present study, viability of primary cultured cerebellar granule neurons (CGNs), combined with sample extraction, chemical fractionation and identification, was applied for screening acid-resistant neuronal toxic substances in environmental samples. River sediments and agricultural soils along the river near a brominated flame retardant (BFR) manufacturing plant in South China were collected to screen the key neuronal toxicants. The results indicated that the manufacturing plant was a source of neuronal toxicity risks. In the sediment and soil near the plant, one of the causative toxicants was identified as tris-(2,3-dibromopropyl) isocyanurate (TBC) using HPLC-MS/MS. In addition, an unknown chemical possibly causing significant neuronal toxicity was isolated from all the soil samples in the region.

为了解决戴瑞奶绵羊冷冻精液质量偏低的问题,试验采集3只健康的24月龄戴瑞种公羊精液,分别用含0,40,80,120,160μmol/L白藜芦醇(RES)抗氧化剂的tris稀释液稀释后冷冻,通过测定和计算冷冻前和冷冻后精液的精子活力、质膜完整率、顶体完整率、精子畸形率和抗氧化性能[丙二醛(MDA)含量、谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶(GSH-Px)活性和总抗氧化能力(T-AOC)]来确定RES的最适添加浓度。结果表明:80μmol/L RES添加量的精子活力、质膜完整率、顶体完整率均最高,平均值分别为(61.36±3.45)%、(40.31±1.20)%、(54.08±2.27)%;其中精子活力、质膜完整率均极显著高于0,160μmol/L添加量(P0.05),极显著高于160μmol/L添加量(P0.05),极显著低于0,160μmol/L(P0.05),极显著低于0,40μmol/L添加量(Ptris稀释液中添加80μmol/L RES更适用于奶绵羊精液冷冻保存。

Optical properties for N,N’-bis (lnaphyhly)N,N’-diphenyl-1,1’-biphenyl-4,4’-diamine and tris (8-hydroxyquinolinato) aluminum in organic light emitting devices

The optical properties of N,N’-bis (Inaphthyl)N,N’-diphenyl-1,1’-biphenyl-4,4’-diamine (NPB) and tris (8-hydroxyquinolinato) aluminum (Alq3) organic materials used as hole transport and electron transport layers in organic light-emitting devices (OLED) have been investigated. The NPB and Alq3 layers were prepared using thermal evaporation method. The results show that the energy band gap of Alq3 is thickness independence while the energy band gap of NPB decreases with the increasing of sample thickness. For the case of photoluminescence the Alq3 with thickness of 84 nm shows the highest relative intensity peak at 510 nm.

Solution Processable Material Derived from Aromatic Triazole, Azomethine and tris: Preparation and Hole-Buffering Application in Polymer Light-Emitting Diodes

This work presents the synthesis of a new hole-buffering material TAZS and its successful application in polymer light-emitting diodes to enhance device performance. The TAZS is composed of aromatic 1,2,4-triazolylcore linked with three trihydroxy tert-butyl terminals via azomethine linkages. The TAZS forms ashomogeneous film deposited by spin-coating process. The HOMO and LUMO levels of TAZS are -5.23 eV and -2.40 eV, respectively, as estimated from cyclic voltammogram. The current density results of hole-only and electron-only devices confirm strong hole-buffering capability of TAZS layer. Multilayer PLEDs with different thickness of TAZS (ITO/PEDOT: PSS/TAZS (x nm)/SY/ETL/LiF/Al) have been successfully fabricated, using spin-coating process to deposit hole-injecting PEDOT: PSS, TAZS, and emissive SY layers. The PLED with 16 nm TAZS reveals the optimal device performance, with maximum luminance and maximum current efficiency of 19,046 cd/m2 and 4.08 cd/A, respectively, surpassing those without TAZS as HBL (8484 cd/m2, 2.13 cd/A). The hole-buffering characteristic of TAZS contributes greatly to improved charges’ recombination ratio and enhanced emission efficiency.
