Methodology to determine regional water demand for instream flow and its application in the yellow river basin

In order to realistically reflect the difference between regional water demand for instream flow and river ecological water demand as well as to resolve the problem that water demand may be counted repeatedly, a concept of regional water demand for minimum instream flow have been developed. The concept was used in the process of determining river functions and calculating ecological water demand for a river. The yellow river watershed was used to validate the calculation methodology for regional water demand. CaIculation results indicate that there are significant differences in water demands among the different regions. The regional water demand at the downstream of the yellow river is the largest about 14.893 × 10^9 m^3/a. The regional water demand of upstream, Lanzhou-Hekou section is the smallest about -5.012 × 10^9 m^3/a. The total ecological water demand of the yellow river basin is 23.06 × 10^9 m^3/a, about the 39% of surface water resources of the water resources should not exceed 61% in the yellow river basin. yellow river basin. That means the maximum available surface The regional river ecological water demands at the Lower Section of the yellow river and Longyangxia-Lanzhou Section exceed the surface water resources produced in its region and need to be supplemented from other regions through the water rational planning of watershed water resources. These results provides technical basis for rational plan of water resources of the yellow river basin.

Comparisons of Simulations of Soil Moisture Variations in the yellow river basin Driven by Various Atmospheric Forcing Data Sets

Based on station observations, The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts reanalysis （ERA40）, the National Centers for Environmental Prediction/National Center for Atmospheric Research （NCEP/NCAR） reanalysis and Princeton University＇s global meteorological forcing data set （Princeton）, four atmospheric forcing fields were constructed for use in driving the Community Land Model version 3.5 （CLM3.5）. Simulated soil moisture content throughout the period 1951-2000 in the yellow river basin was validated via comparison with corresponding observations in the upper, middle, and lower reaches. The results show that CLM3.5 is capable of reproducing not only the characteristics of intra-annual and annual variations of soil moisture, but also long-term variation trends, with different statistical significance in the correlations between the observations and simulations from different forcing fields in various reaches. The simulations modeled with station-based atmospheric forcing fields are the most consistent with observed soil moisture, and the simulations based on the Princeton data set are the second best, on average. The simulations from ERA40 and NCEP/NCAR are close to each other in quality, but comparatively worse to the other sources of forcing information that were evaluated. Regionally, simulations are most consistent with observations in the lower reaches and less so in the upper reaches, with the middle reaches in between. In addition, the soil moisture simulated by CLM3.5 is systematically greater than the observations in the yellow river basin. Comparisons between the simulations by CLM3.5 and CLM3.0 indicate that simulation errors are primarily caused by deficiencies within CLM3.5 and are also associated with the quality of atmospheric forcing field applied.

Increasing of CO and other trace airs in atmosphere will alter energy balance of climate system, and cause global warming in the future. Climate change has direct impact on hydrology. Later on, spatial and temporal distribution of water resources would change as well. The yellow river is the second largest river in China, and is deficient in water re- sources. Global warming will make contradiction between water supplying and demanding be more conspicuous in the river basin. According to the spatial distribution of water resources, source of runoff in the yellow river could be divided into four areas. YRWBM model was in- troduced and employed to study the effect of climate change on runoff in each region. Due to large uncertainty in output of GCMs, hypothetical climate scenarios were adopted. Based on the discharge simulation, responses of runoff to climate change were analyzed. And results show that runoff is more sensitive to precipitation change than that to temperature change, runoff will increase 14%～18% if precipitation increase 10%. And 1 degree rise in tempera- ture will lead to 3.7%～6.6% reductions in runoff. Runoffs in the second and the third re- gion are more sensitive to climate change than that do in other areas. Under the scenarios of 20% decrease in precipitation and 2 degree rise in temperature, runoff will reduce 29.3%～39.6%.

As a pivotal element within the modern service industry,tourism possesses the capacity to reconfigure regional economic dynamics,alter resource flow patterns,and notably influence urban green *** establishing an evaluation index system for urban green development across 60 prefecture-level cities within the yellow river basin from 2006 to 2021,this study employs the spatial Durbin model to delve into the nonlinear relationship between the tourism economy and urban green ***,it investigates the heterogeneous impact of the tourism economy on green development across varying levels of *** study reveals several key findings:(1)Both tourism economy and urban green development exhibit significant spatial clustering,with tourism economy showing“midstream>downstream>upstream”and urban green development showing“downstream>midstream>upstream”.(2)The tourism economy exerts a non-linear positive influence on the green development of cities,characterized by a non-linear inverted“S”shape in its direct impact and a nonlinear“S”shape in its indirect impact.(3)As urbanization rate level escalate,the positive influence of the tourism economy on urban green development follows a non-linear trajectory,initially declining before ***,when the urbanization rate level is below the first threshold value,the tourism economy notably promotes urban green ***,between the first and second threshold values,this positive impact diminishes,only to rebound beyond the second threshold value.

绿色创新具有生态环境友好和以创新为发展动力的双重属性，厘清绿色创新时空格局及影响因素对黄河流域生态保护和高质量发展至关重要。基于2005-2019年黄河流域60个地级及以上城市面板数据，运用Kernel密度估计、社会网络分析和空间杜宾模型，从“集聚-网络”视角探析了黄河流域绿色创新格局的时空演进特征及影响因素。结果表明：①黄河流域绿色创新水平增速放缓，上中游城市后发追赶，城市间差距逐渐缩小，存在动态集聚特征。②绿色创新空间集聚格局呈现由东至西渐进发展态势，山东半岛城市群和中原城市群绿色创新水平整体跃迁，形成片状集聚，而其余城市群形成点状跳跃式的“核心-边缘”发展格局。③绿色创新合作网络密度低且高度不均衡，形成以山东半岛城市群、郑州、西安和银川为四边形骨干的“金字塔”形。④融入绿色创新合作网络对绿色创新水平的提升具有显著且稳健地促进作用。环境规制强度与绿色创新呈现出倒“U”形关系，人力资本水平、经济发展水平和交通网络发展水平的提升有利于绿色创新，网络中心度、环境规制、人力资本和经济发展水平表现出正向的空间溢出效应。

　　"九五"期间,黄河的水土保持生态建设,在党中央、国务院的高度重视下,经过各级政府和流域广大人民群众的努力奋斗,取得了显著的成效.　　据统计,1996～2000年,全流域共完成水土流失初步治理面积约6万km2,较"八五"期间的4.6万km2提高了近30%.平均年治理速度1.2万km2,较"八五"每年增加治理面积约3000km2,是新中国成立以来发展最快的时期.特别到1998年后,每年完成的治理面积出现了历史性的突破,达到1.25万km2,2000年超过了1.3万km2.在这5年中,共安排建设治沟骨干工程547座,使1986年以来开展的这项治沟工程总数达到1400多座;建设水土保持林草植被443.5万hm2;整治坡地142.5万hm2;建设淤地坝1.4万座,配套建设小型水利水保工程100多万处.……

厘清黄河流域各省区隐含碳排放特征及其空间转移路径，对制定该区域的碳减排战略至关重要。基于MRIO模型，测算了2012年、2017年黄河流域9省区生产侧、消费侧及隐含碳排放转移量，分析了该流域产生隐含碳的关键产业和地区、隐含碳转移的地理源特征。结果表明：①黄河流域整体隐含碳排放生产侧大于消费侧，2012-2017年生产侧和消费侧隐含碳排放呈不断增长趋势。②黄河流域9省区内需碳排放产生的主要部门是重制造业、建筑业、服务业，调出与调入隐含碳排放产生的主要部门是重制造业和能源工业。③黄河流域9省区输出隐含碳的主要地区是江苏、广东、浙江，输入隐含碳的主要地区是黄河流域区域内及周边地区，具有地理邻近效应。④黄河流域区域内合作减排比各省区单独减排更为有效。
