The effects of steroid hormones are believed to be mediated by their nuclear receptors(NRs).The p160 coactivator family,including steroid receptor coactivator-1(SRC-1),2 and 3,has been shown to physically interact with NRs to enhance their transactivational *** which SRC-1 has been predominantly localized in the central nervous system including brain and spinal *** is not only localized in neurons but also detectable in neuroglial cells(mainly localized in the nuclei but also detectable in the extra-nuclear components).Although the expression of SRC-1 is regulated by many steroids,it is also regulated by some non-steroidal factors such as injury,sound and ***,SRC-1 has been implied in normal function such as development and ageing,learning and memory,central regulation on reproductive behaviors,motor and food ***,SRC-1 may play a role in the regulation of neuropsychiatric disorders(including stress,depression,anxiety,and autism spectrum disorder),metabolite homeostasis and obesity as well as *** most conditions,the related mechanisms are far from elucidation;although it may regulate spatial memory through Rictor/mTORC2-actin polymerization related synaptic *** inhibitors and stimulator of SRC-1 have shown anti-cancer potentials,but whether these small molecules could be used to modulate ageing and central disorder related neuropathology remain ***,to elucidate when and how SRC-1 is turned on and off under different stimuli is very interesting and great challenge for neuroscientists.

BACKGROUND:steroids have been the mainstay of immunosuppressive regimen in liver ***,the use of steroids is associated with various post-transplant *** study evaluated the efficacy and safety of reduced immunosuppressive regimen with steroids(steroid elimination within 24 hours post-transplant) in a cohort of Chinese liver transplant ***:Seventy-six patients in line with the selection criteria were enrolled in this prospective *** patients received anti-IL-2 receptor antibody induction and tacrolimusbased maintenance *** recipients were divided into two groups according to the duration of steroid use:40 transplant in a 3-month withdrawal group and the remaining 36 in a 24-hour elimination *** survival,postoperative infections,biopsy-proven acute rejection and steroidresistant acute rejection,non-healing wound,recurrence of hepatitis B virus(HBV) and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),de novo diabetes,hyperlipidemia and hypertension were assessed in the two ***:There was no significant difference in patient survival,incidence of acute rejection episodes and hyperlipidemia,and recurrence of HBV and HCC between the two ***,the incidence rates of post-transplant infection,non-healing wound,de novo diabetes and hypertension were significantly lower in the 24-hour elimination group than in the 3-month withdrawal group(all P values steroid elimination within 24 hours post-transplant is associated with reduced steroidrelated complications without increasing the risk of rejection.

Two new cembranoids, namely, sinumerolides A and B （1 and 2）, one new steroid, 7fl-hydroxygorgosterol （7）, along with four known cembranoid derivatives （3-6）, four known steroids （8-11）, and four known africane ses- quiterpenoids （12-15）, were isolated and identified from the marine soil coral Sinularia numerosa that was col- lected from South China Sea waters. The structures of these metabolites were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis and by comparison of their spectral data with those of literature reports. The isolated com- pounds were evaluated for the antimicrobial and cytotoxic activity.

Two novel steroid-linked nitrogen mustard conjugates la and lb were synthesized by using estrogenic acid 4 coupled with aniline mustard 8 and phenol mustard 13 in an esterification or amidation procedure. Preliminary cytotoxic screening on cancer cell lines in vitro showed that, the steroid-ester linked nitrogen mustard conjugate la exhibited obvious increasing of activities.
