Objective: To evaluate the treatment outcomes of patients with pelvic ring injury by applying step-by-step external pelvic fixation and circular external fixation device.Methods: A total of 28 patients suffering from disintegrated pelvic ring injury are involved in the study. Fourteen patients(the treatment group) underwent step-by-step external pelvic fixation by applying anterior(anti-shock) and posterior modules. For the rest 14 patients(the experimental group), the osteosynthesis were conducted by means of a circular external fixation device. The long-term outcomes were evaluated in a year after the injury.Results: The residual deformity of 5(4–7) mm was observed in 10 patients(71.4%) from the experimental group. In the treatment group, the residual deformity was evident only in 4(28.6%) cases being 2.5(2–3) mm(P = 0.000 319) on the average. The functional result(according to the Majeed scale) was statistically better in the treatment group(P = 0.000 319). Nine(64.3%) and five(35.7%) patients in treatment group showed excellent and positive results, respectively. The excellent result was demonstrated by 3patients(21.4%) of the experimental group, the positive outcomes were observed in 6 cases(42.9%) and the unsatisfactory one was displayed by 1 patient(7.1%) of the same group.Conclusions: The modular approach applied is the advantage of the transosseous osteosynthesis allowing for a separate anterior(anti-shock) fixation and final posterior reposition of the pelvic ring preceded by the stabilization of vital functions. The above mentioned method gives an opportunity to increase the amount of techniques applied for the pelvic external fixation in polytrauma cases.

We present polarity control of the carrier injection for a feedback field-effect transistor(FBFET)with a selectively thinned p^+-i-n^+Si nanowire(SiNW)channel and two separate gates.The SiNW FBFET can be reconfigured in the p-or n-channel operation modes via simple control of electric signals.The two separate gates induce potential barriers in the SiNW channel for selective control of the carrier injection.In contrast to previously reported rec on figurable tran sistors,our tran sistor features symmetry of the electrical characteristics for the p-and n-cha nnel operation modes.Positive-feedback operation of the SiNW FBFET provides superior switching characteristics for the p-and n-type 8nfigurations,including the on/off ratios(~10^5)and subthreshold swings(1.36-1.78 mV/dec).This novel tran sistor is a promising can didate for reconfigurable electro nics.

Organic-inorganic hybrid and carbaryl-imprinted capillary monolith was synthesized via methacrylic acid（MAA） as functional monomer, γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane（γ-MAPS） as crosslinker and carbaryl as template molecule in an acetonitrile/dichloromethane mixture（1：4, volume ratio）. With the capillary column obtained from this monolith, three carbamates（carbaryl, fenobucarb and metolcarb） were separated effectively by electrochromatography with the kMIp/kNlP values of 7.57, 1.27 and 1.64, respectively. In 20 mmol/L phosphate buffer solution（pH=3.5） with 30%（volume fraction） of acetonitrile, carbaryl was separated directly from the three-carbamate mixture（carbaryl, fenobucarb and metolcarb） with an effective 15 cm-length imprinted column.

Separation of Clay Minerals from Host Sediments Using Cation Exchange Resins

Classic physical and chemical treatments applied to separating clay minerals from the host sediments are often difficult or aggressive for clay minerals. A technique using cation exchange resins (amberlite IRC\|50H and amberlite IR\|120) is used to separate clay minerals from the host sediments. The technique is based on the exchange of cations in the minerals that may be associated clay minerals in sediments, such as Ca and Mg from dolomite; Ca from calcite, gypsum and francolite with cations carried by resin radicals. The associated minerals such as gypsum, calcite, dolomite and francolite are removed in descending order. Separation of clay minerals using cation exchange resins is less aggressive than that by other classic treatments. The efficiency of amberlite IRC\|50H in the removal of associated minerals is greater than that of amberlite IR\|120.

An immunomagnetic bead kit to separate and enrich salbutamol was prepared through the reaction between salbutamol and 4-aminobenzoic acid.The kit had a catch of 20 ng/ml to salbutamol in samples,and showed no cross reaction with competitive drugs with structure and function similar to salbutamol: clenbuterol,ractopamine,phenylethanolamine A, bromchlorbuterol, brombuterol, terbutaline, hydroxymethyl salbutamol,cimaterol,tulobuterol,mapenterol,cimbuterol,clenpenterol,zilpaterol,penbutolol,clenproperol,mabuterol and clorprenaline.

The composite membranes with cellulose acetate（CA） as the separating layer material and polyacrylonitrile（PAN） as the supporting layer material were prepared for separating caprolactam（CPL） from CPL/water mixtures by pervaporation technique.The swelling experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of swelling time and CPL concentration on the degree of swelling.The results showed that the CA membrane reached swelling equilibrium within 24 h,and the degree of swelling first slightly decreased then increased with the increase of CPL concentration in the feed under the experimental conditions.Respectively comparing flux with permeance,and separation factor with selectivity,we found out that the separation performance of the CA/PAN composite membrane is more strongly dependent on its hydrophilic/hydrophobic nature as well as on the effects of operating parameters,such as feed composition concentration and feed temperature.

Electrostatic pseudo liquid membrane（ESPLIM）separation process,developed recently in this laboratory,is a novel chemical separation technology.ESPLIM is an interdisciplinary technology evolved from thecombination of solvent extraction,liquid membrane and electrostatic techniques.It can be used to separate,purify and concentrate specific solutes from aqueous solutions.Therefore,it is suitable for the recovery ofvaluable metals from aqueous solutions in the field of hydrometallurgy（including nuclear fuel cycles）and forthe processes of waste water treatment.This paper discusses the basic principles of this new technology.Taking the extraction of Co2+by D2EHPA as an example,effects on metal extraction of electrical fieldstrength,extractant concentration and the flow ratio of feed to stripping solution have been studied.Exper-iments show that the once through extraction efficiency of Co2+can reach 99% while Co2+can be concen-trated up to 40—50g/L in the stripping solution.
