Thermoregulated Organic Biphasic Hydrogenation of 1-Octene Catalyzed by Ru/PETPP Complex

Thermoregulated organic biphasic system composed of triethylene glycol monomethyl ether （TGME） and n-heptane was first applied to the hydrogenation of 1-octene. Under the optimal conditions： P（H2）=5.0MPa, T=80℃, t=3h, 1-octene/Ru=1000 （molar ratio）, the yield of n-octane reached up to 99.6%. Furthermore, the simply decanted catalyst could be reused for 10 times without apparent loss of catalytic activity.

Combinatorial Supports for Ru-based Ammonia Synthesis Catalysts

The support materials of ruthenium.based catalysts for ammonia synthesis were preparedusing mixed solutions composed of magnesium nitrate, aluminum nitrate and calcium nitrate with acertain ratio. The catalysts supported on complex oxides were more active and the optimal activitytemperatures were lower than that supported on single oxide under the same conditions. Thecatalyst with Mg-Al complex oxide as support prepared by calcinating hydrotalcite-like compoundhad significantly higher activity, 38.42 mL NH3?h-1?g-1 at 673 K. The BET determination showedthat the Mg-Al complex oxide possessed large surface area, 140.95 m2?g-1, similar to γ-Al2O3.

Thermoregulated Phase-separable Ru_3(CO)_(12)/PETPP Complex Catalyst for Hydrogenation of Styrene

Thermoregulated phase-separable Ru-3(CO)(12)/PETPP (PETPP=P[p-C6H4O (CH2CH2O)(n) H](3), n=6) complex catalyst was first applied in the hydrogenation of styrene. Under the conditions: P(H-2)=2.0MPa, T=90degreesC, styrene could be completely transferred and the yield of ethylbenzene reached up to 99.5%. After simple decantation, the catalyst could be reused for ten times without decreasing in activity.
