Text Difficulty Study:Do Machines Behave the Same as Humans Regarding Text Difficulty?

The research object of psycholinguistics is human and language. The research object of English teaching is the teaching process, and the object is also human and language. Judging from the research object, there is an inevitable connection between the two. psycholinguistics affects English teaching and provides a theoretical basis and practical guidance for English teaching. College English is guided by foreign language teaching theories, with English language knowledge and applied skills, cross-cultural communication and learning strategies as the main content, to cultivate students’ comprehensive English application ability. Aiming at the problems in college English teaching, this article is guided by the theoretical basis of psycholinguistics. From the aspects of vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation, this paper proposes a method to train students’ comprehensive English ability to guide English Teaching Reform Practice.

With the emergence of pre-trained models,current neural networks are able to give task performance that is comparable to ***,we know little about the fundamental working mechanism of pre-trained models in which we do not know how they approach such performance and how the task is solved by the *** example,given a task,human learns from easy to hard,whereas the model learns ***,difficulty-insensitive learning leads to great success in natural language processing(NLP),but little attention has been paid to the effect of text difficulty in *** propose a human learning matching index(HLM Index)to investigate the effect of text *** results show:1)LSTM gives more human-like learning behavior than ***,UID-SuperLinear gives the best evaluation of text difficulty among four text difficulty *** nine tasks,some tasks’performance is related to text difficulty,whereas others are not.2)Model trained on easy data performs best in both easy and medium test data,whereas trained on hard data only performs well on hard test data.3)Train the model from easy to hard,leading to quicker convergence.

Formulaic Language in Second Language Acquisition:A Review

This paper argues for the need of the reappraisal of the formulaic aspect of language in second language acquisition by drawing insights from recent development in applied linguistics, psycholinguistics and corpus linguistics. This library study begins by reviewing the dual-nature view of language in relation to formulaic aspect of language. Then, a brief survey of evidence from corpus linguistics is provided to demonstrate the formulaicity of language. What follows is the discussion of rehearsal and implicit learning vis-a-vis memory from the perspective of psycholinguistics. After that, the role of formulaic language in second language acquisition is examined by taking stock of empirical findings that have accumulated in this area. Finally, by way of conclusion, how the formulaicity of language can shed light on second/foreign language teaching theory is illustrated.

Students have been committed to improving reading proficiency. Abundant reading is of vital importance because students can increase both the sensitivity and language sense of English. However,the reading ability of different readers varies. In psycholinguistic research,it is proved,by the research methods of referencing to the theories of psycholinguistics,reasoning through dialectics,being supported via convincing and empirical experimental data,that good readers and poor readers reading at word level differentiates in certain aspects,including the differences among top down and bottom up processing modes,phonological awareness,and eye movement. The purpose and significance of comparing and identifying these differences is to help poor readers to specific training from these suggested angles in order to improve their reading ability.
