A design problem with deficient information is generally described as wicked or ill-defined.The information insufficiency leaves designers with loose settings,free environments,and a lack of strict boundaries,which provides them with more opportunities to facilitate innovation.Therefore,to capture the opportunity behind the uncertainty of a design problem,this study models an innovative design as a composite solving process,where the problem is clarified and resolved from fuzziness to satisfying solutions by interplay among design problems,knowledge,and solutions.Additionally,a triple-helix structured model for the innovative product design process is proposed based on the co-evolution of the problem,solution,and knowledge spaces,to provide designers with a distinct design strategy and method for innovative design.The three spaces interact and co-evolve through iterative mappings,including problem structuring,knowledge expansion,and solution generation.The mappings carry the information processing and decision-making activities of the design,and create the path to satisfying solutions.Finally,a case study of a reactor coolant flow distribution device is presented to demonstrate the practicability of this model and the method for innovative product design.

Atomic Force Microscopy Measurement in the Lignosulfonate/Inorganic Silica System:From Dispersion Mechanism Study to product design

designing and preparing high-performance lignin-based dispersants are crucial steps in realizing the value-added utilization of lignin on an industrial scale.Such process depends heavily on an understanding of the dispersion mechanism of lignin-based dispersants.Here,atomic force microscopy(AFM)is employed to quantitatively investigate the dispersion mechanism of a lignosulfonate/silica(LS/SiO_(2))system under different pH conditions.The results show that the repulsive force between SiO_(2)particles in LS solution is stronger than it is in water,resulting in better dispersion stability.The Derjaguin–Landau–Verwey–Overbeek(DLVO)formula as well as the DLVO formula combined with steric repulsion is utilized for the fitting of the AFM force/distance(F/D)curves between the SiO_(2)probe and substrate in water and in LS solution.Based on these fitting results,electrostatic and steric repulsive forces are respectively calculated,yielding further evidence that LS provides strong steric repulsion between SiO_(2)particles.Further studies indicate that the adsorbance of LS on SiO_(2)(Q),the normalized interaction constant(A),and the characteristic length(L)are the three critical factors affecting steric repulsion in the LS/SiO_(2)system.Based on the above conclusions,a novel quaternized grafted-sulfonation lignin(QAGSL)dispersant is designed and prepared.The QAGSL dispersant exhibits good dispersing performance for SiO_(2)and real cement particles.This work provides a fundamental and quantitative understanding of the dispersion mechanism in the LS/inorganic particle system and provides important guidance for the development of high-performance lignin-based dispersants.

Conscious consumption is a trend that is here to stay since consumers are becoming more aware of their purchasing decision and its impact on their health & environment. To sustain in the market on the move towards sustainability and meet the demands, companies need to re-examine their footprints and incorporate green practices in their products and organization. Using eco-friendly material & processes is one of the remedies to come up with this, and bamboo is one of the most versatile, green and renewable natural resources on planet earth. Traditionally bamboo has been exploited to a large extent but cutting-edge options available for bamboo are still limited and have a scope of indulging fully in the lifestyle of people in India. The global market size of bamboo was valued at UED 53.28 billion in 2020, and it is expected to grow at compound annual growth rate of 5.7% from 2022 to 2028. There is increasing demand for sustainable construction, and furniture and handicraft products also have considerable weightage. Manny brands and craft clusters of bamboo are realizing and promoting this green quotient of bamboo to the market to attract the eco-conscious audience and trying to cope up with the advancement of sustainability, like certifications of being a green organisation. Despite the exceptional qualities of bamboo, it is considered as a marginalized material due to low production rate, high competition with the non-eco-friendly or cheaper alternatives, aesthetics and marketing gaps. There is a gap between willingness to purchase and an actual purchase when it comes to the sustainable products and marketing plays a major role in conversions. The characteristics of design process, design object and domain knowledge of complex product are analyzed. A kind of knowledge representation schema based on integrated generalized rule is stated. An AND-OR tree based model of concept for domain knowledge is set up. The strategy of multilevel domain knowledge acquisition based on the model is presented. The intelligent multilevel knowledge acquisition system (IMKAS) for product design is developed, and it is applied in the intelligent decision support system of concept design of complex product.

近年来，便携式音响产品发展迅速，种类日益增多，为了指导音响产品的设计并提供消费者参考，需要建立科学的评价体系。本文基于产品设计5E原则模型，结合文献调查市场产品分析，建立音响设备评价指标，包含5个一级指标和14个二级指标，通过问卷调查结合专家访谈得出各指标的比较结果，运用层次分析法计算出其权重，完成一致性检验。一级指标排序结果为满意度、有效、高效、易学、容错性，二级指标重要排序结果为良好的外观、尺寸和形状符合人体工学、流畅的使用过程、舒适的材质、有效准确的反馈等。科学量化的评价体系有助于减少经验性的依赖，优化音响设备的设计决策和实施。

product innovation is often a process for improving existing products.Low-end disruptive innovation(LDI)enables a product to meet the most price-sensitive customers in the low-end market.The existing LDI methods are mainly based on unnecessary characteristics of disruptive innovations.Thus,they cannot easily identify and respond to the LDI design needs.This study proposes a hybrid method for the product LDI in two levels of the product design based on the summarized definition and essential characteristics of LDI.Feasible areas of the product LDI are determined using a hybrid relational function model to identify the maturity of dominant technologies.The technologies are identified through the technical search and evaluation of the feasible area for innovation to form an initial LDI scheme.Then,the product function is optimized using the trimming concept of theory of inventive problem solving based on the characteristics of LDI.The final LDI scheme is formed and evaluated based on the essential characteristics of the product LDI.The feasibility of the proposed method is verified in the design of a new dropping pill machine.

【目的】设计一种智能床头柜产品，为提供老年人提供更加便利、安全和舒适的枕边生活体验，通过集成智能功能和便利设施，提高老年人的生活质量和独立性；【方法】依据前期需求调研结果，确定智能床头柜设计需要具备的基本功能，开发了一款集娱乐音频、指纹识别、夜间照明、日常监控等4个模块为一体的老年人枕边智能床头柜产品，通过前期系统规划、三维建模、控制系统设计、软件测试等环节实现了智能床头柜产品设计；【结论】基于老年人枕边需求的智能床头柜产品开发无论从功能性、外观、能耗等方面都具有一定的使用价值，可有效满足老年人在床边的各种需求，值得进一步研发推广。
