Backgrounds This study was to report the initial experiences of the technique of fusion of either MSCT or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with three-dimensional (3-D) electroanatomic mapping (CartoMerge) to guide circumferential pulmonary vein ablation (CPVA) for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF). Methods Fifty-five patients [42 men, mean age (SS + 14) years] with symptomatic drug-refractory AF underwent MRI or 64-slice MSCT 1 to 3 days prior to the ablation procedure. Using the new CartoMerge?Image Integration Module, 3-D anatomic images of the left atrium (LA) and pulmonary veins (PVs) derived from MRI/MSCT were established and fused with the electroanatomic map. The end-point of CPVA was abolish or dissociation of pulmonary vein potentials (PVPs). Results MRI and 64-slice MSCT was performed in 30 and 25 patients, respectively. A mean of (49±13) mapping points was used to establish the electroanatomic model of the LA/PVs. In all patients, MRI/MSCT images could be fused with the 3-D electroanatomic map. Mean distance between the mapping points and the MRI/MSCT surfaces ranged from (1.16±0.89) mm to (2.20±1.76) mm.Conclusions Integration of MRI/MSCT image and the 3-D electroanatomic mapping is a useful tool to facilitate ablation procedure for AF. However, the accuracy of the fusion procedure is dependent on the precision of electroanatomic mapping.

The prior distribution of θ belongs to the familyF={G:∫‖θ‖2dG（θ）n （t）, by using the kernel estimation of f（t）. Under a quite general assumption imposed upon f（t） and h（x）, it is shown that φn（t） is an asymptotically optimal EBE of θ.

Consider the two-sided truncation distribution families written in the form f(x,θ)=w(θ_1, θ_2)·h(x)I_([θ_1,θ_2])(x)dx, where θ=(θ_1,θ_2). T(X)=(t_1(X), t_2(X))=(min(X_1, …, X_m), max(X_1, …, X_m)) is a sufficient statistic and we denote its marginal density by f(t)dμ~T. The prior distribution of θ belong to the famlly. In this paper, we have constructed the empirical Bayes (EB) estimator of θ, φ_n(t), by using the kernel estimation of f(t) and established its convergence rates. Under suitable conditions it is shown that the rates of convergenc of EB estimator are O(N^-((λ中-1)(k+1))/(2(k+2)k)), where the neural number k>1 and 1/2<λ<1-1/2k. Finally an example about this result is given.

In this paper we have demonstrated the ability of the new Bayesian measure of evidence of Yin (2012, Computational Statistics, 27: 237-249) to solve both the Behrens-Fisher problem and Lindley's paradox. We have provided a general proof that for any prior which yields a linear combination of two independent t random variables as posterior distribution of the di erence of means, the new Bayesian measure of evidence given that prior will solve Lindleys' paradox thereby serving as a general proof for the works of Yin and Li (2014, Journal of Applied Mathematics, 2014(978691)) and Goltong?and Doguwa (2018, Open Journal of Statistics, 8: 902-914).?Using the Pareto prior as an example, we have shown by the use of?simulation results that the new Bayesian measure of evidence solves?Lindley's paradox.

Γ-minimax estimators are determined for the mean vector of a multivariate normaldistribution under arbitrary squared error loss.Thereby the set Γ consists of all priorswhose vector of first moments and matrix of second moments satisfy some given restric-tions.Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived which ensure a prior being leastfavourable in Γ and the unique Bayes estimator with respect to this prior being Γ-minimax.By applying these results the Γ-minimax estimator is explicitly found in some special casesor can be computed by solving a system of non-linear equations or by minimizing a quad-ratic form on a compact and convex set.

Use of BayesSim and Smoothing to Enhance Simulation Studies

The conventional form of statistical simulation proceeds by selecting a few models and generating hundreds or thousands of data sets from each model. This article investigates a different approach, called BayesSim, that generates hundreds or thousands of models from a prior distribution, but only one (or a few) data sets from each model. Suppose that the performance of estimators in a parametric model is of interest. Smoothing methods can be applied to BayesSim output to investigate how estimation error varies as a function of the parameters. In this way inferences about the relative merits of the estimators can be made over essentially the entire parameter space, as opposed to a few parameter configurations as in the conventional approach. Two examples illustrate the methodology: One involving the skew-normal distribution and the other nonparametric goodness-of-fit tests.

In an in vitro transcription system, the intact virion of rice ragged stunt virus (RRSV) coulddirect the synthesis of an acid-insoluble material. This indicated that the virus might contain RNA poly-merase activity, with an optimum range of activity at 30-40℃, maximal at 35℃. Divalent cationswere essential for the activity. Transcription products accumulated in the incubation period from 0 to4 h In addition, the polymerase activity declined if the virus was heat-shocked or treated with chy-motrypsin, which implied that no prior treatment was required to activate transcription catalyzed byRRSV.
