As a key predictor of learners’language achievement,motivation has long been an active research area in second language *** assorted theories,Gardner’s perspective is one of the foundations of L2 motivation research and thus has dominated this field for a long ***?rnye later put forward the L2 Motivational Self System to reconceptualise Gardner’s *** current essay attempts to reflect on the concepts of integrative and instrumental motivational orientations discussed in both Gardner’s and Do?rnyei’s theoretical frameworks in order to gain a subtler understanding of the role of these two notions in L2 motivation.

A Correlation Study between Motivation orientations and Metacognitive Strategies in English Listening

Based on learning motivation theory and metacognitive theory, the present study reports questionnaire surveys on correlation between motivation orientations and listening metacognitive strategies among 117 English majors. Findings suggest that: 1) English majors are mainly stimulated by instrumental motivation and show bias towards planning and evaluation strategy in listening comprehension; 2) there is a significant positive correlation between instrumental motivation and strategy of planning and evaluation; 3) significant difference between high motive group and low motive group only exists in planning and evaluation strategy. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to help students strengthen the training of listening metacognitive strategies form long-lasting motivation and promote listening proficiency as well as self-learning ability.

Advanced civil aero-engines tend to adopt lean burn combustors to meet emission *** exit of a lean burn combustor experiences highly non-uniformities in both temperature(Hot Streak,HS)and flow(swirl).This paper presents a numerical investigation on the behaviors of a High-Pressure(HP)turbine under a combined effect of swirl and hot *** investigation was conducted on a GE-E3 HP turbine with unsteady numerical simulations,which considered the realistic clocking position of the HP Nozzle Guide Vane(NGV)relative to the *** influences of swirl orientations on the HS migration and thermal performances on the blade surface were *** indicate that,inside the NGV passage,the swirl’s induced incidence angle effect dominates the HS radial *** transversal movement of HS follows the cross flow and thus makes itself approach the Suction Side(SS)and keep away from the Pressure Side(PS)as passing through the NGV,so that HS near the SS is more influenced by the incidence angle effect than that near the *** for the heat transfer,swirl affects the Heat Transfer Coefficient(HTC)on the NGV’s PS and SS mainly through the incidence angle *** from the NGV,the inlet swirl and HS have limited effect on the HTC on the rotor blade’s PS,while on the rotor blade’s SS,the original vortex system dominates;therefore,the inlet non-uniformities merely enhance the HTC on the SS rather than alter its distribution characteristics.

This study aims to investigate the correlation between the permeation effect and microfabric of the slip zone soils with Huangtupo landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir as the study case. Based on the permeability test and scanning electron microscope(SEM) images analysis, the fractal theory and probability entropy are used to quantify the characteristics of the remodeling specimens. First, the relationships between initial moisture content(IMC) and microstructure of the soil(percentage of particle area(PPA), pore roundness(Rp)) before and after permeability test are summarized. Then, the fractal dimension of the soil(pore distribution(Dpd), pore size(Dps)) are analyzed under the permeation effect. Based on the probability entropy, the entropy of pore(Ep) is used to characterize the porosity orientation, and the rose diagrams are used to show the particle orientation under the permeation effect. Finally, the relationship between the microstructure of the soil and its mechanical property is discussed. Results show that under the permeation effect, the microstructure of the soil has undergone tremendous changes. A flat long pore channel is formed. The order of the pore arrangement is enhanced, and soil particles switch the long axis to parallel infiltration direction to reach a new steady state. It can be inferred that the strength of soil would be weakened if the fractal dimension of soil pore decreases under any external environment.

We have set up the high pressure device used for single crystal X-ray diffraction, determined the X-ray absorption curve of the device on Nicolet four-circle diffractometer, established the data collection programme of a fixed φ scheme, and corrected the offsets of the optical centering of the crystal by using a reflection which is measured in eight different orientations. The mixture ratio of methanol: ethanol: water 16: 3: 1 was used as a pressure medium, high pressure calibration was based on the wavelength shift of the R1 fluorescence line of ruby, and the pressure of 100 kbar was obtained.

Aluminum Nitride films were grown on and Si (100) substrate by D.C. reactive magnetron sputtering at room temperature. Influence of sputter deposition time on properties of the AlN films was studied. Structural optical and electrical properties of the film were investigated. XRD measurements showed the presence of hexagonal wurtzite structure. The optical reflectance spectra of the film were taken and the band gap calculated varied from 4.35 to 5.3 eV. Finally MIS capacitors were fabricated on silicon substrates and variation of dielectric parameter with deposition time was reported.

Changes in the different structural parameters of iPP fibers during the dynamically cold drawing process were characterized. Using the dynamic mechanical cold drawing device attached to Fizeau interference system all the optical and structural properties can be measured. With the aid of this device the effect of the strain rate on the different structure properties was measured. The molecular orientations, molecular polarizability, molar reflectivity and shrinkage stress were measured. Reorientation of the molecules led to a significant variations in the measured structure properties of the drawn iPP fibers during applying the external tension.
