Virtual reality(VR) environment can provide immersive experience to *** the VR environment, providing a good quality of experience is extremely ***, in this paper, we present an image quality assessment(IQA) study on omnidirectional images. We first build an omnidirectional IQA(OIQA) database, including 16 source images with their corresponding 320 distorted images. We add four commonly encountered distortions. These distortions are JPEG compression, JPEG2000 compression, Gaussian blur, and Gaussian noise. Then we conduct a subjective quality evaluation study in the VR environment based on the OIQA database. Considering that visual attention is more important in VR environment, head and eye movement data are also tracked and collected during the quality rating experiments. The 16 raw and their corresponding distorted images,subjective quality assessment scores, and the head-orientation data and eye-gaze data together constitute the OIQA database. Based on the OIQA database, we test some state-of-the-art full-reference IQA(FR-IQA) measures on equirectangular format or cubic formatomnidirectional images. The results show that applying FR-IQA metrics on cubic format omnidirectional images could improve their performance. The performance of some FR-IQA metrics combining the saliency weight of three different types are also tested based on our database. Some new phenomena different from traditional IQA are observed.

BACKGROUND: Final comprehensive exam is the most important examination for midwifery students to evaluate their professional ability and Test anxiety is a common phenomenon among college students. Because test anxiety is one of the problems of educational systems, this study was performed to compare test anxiety in objective structured clinical examinations (OS-CEs) and traditional assessment methods (TAM) among Undergraduate Midwifery Students. Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, 52 students of Babol Midwifery College were participated in the study. 20 students were evaluated using TAM in November 2010, and 32 students were evaluated using the OSCE method in July 2011. Data were collected via a two-component questionnaire including demographic data and the test anxiety inventory (TAI). Results: All of midwifery students were women;the mean age of students, ages of father and mother’s were 23.1 ± 0.7, 52.3 ± 3.5 and 47.8 ± 4.9 years, respectively. Most of the students were single (61.5%). The mean education levels of father and mother’s were 11.6 ± 4.5 and 9.9 ± 4.0 years, respectively. The mean score of test anxiety in students was 42.51 ± 13.16. The most of participants did have moderate test anxiety (56.9%), two present not had any test anxiety, 37.3% had low test anxiety, and 3.9% had severe test anxiety. In sum, 98% had some degrees of test anxiety. There were the statistical differences in the mean score of text anxiety in OSCEs Compared with TAM in Undergraduate Midwifery Students (39.38 ± 13.81 vs. 47.35 ± 10.67, P = 0.033). Also, the mean severity of anxiety was different in two groups. The mean of moderate/severe test anxiety was more in TAM compared with OSCEs (52.57% vs. 49.56%, p = 0.000). The test anxiety had a positive correlation with father’s education, mother’s education (0.286, p = 0.042), father’s age, mother’s age, marital status, residency (0.292, p = 0.042). As shown in a statistical analysis of the relationship between environmental fields at varied timeand tropical cyclone motion, the forecasting ability of the initisl environmental field predictors for tropical cyclone motion decreases with the increase of valid time period of forecast;it is higher with these predictors at a fUture time than at an initial time. The work also indicates that for the tropical cyclone motion over a given period of valid forecast, better predictors appear at times mostly differing from thevalid periods; for periods at 48-120 h the environmental predictors at 48-72 h are m0re capable of forecasting. With statistical interpretation of NWP products, a predictive model for tropical cyclone motionis superior in performance over a statistical forecasting model that employes predictors of the initial field in the basic framework. The concluding remarks can be used as reference in the construction of an objective prediction model for tropical cyclone motion.

In real world decision making problems, the decision maker has to often optimize more than one objective, which might be conflicting in nature. Also, it is not always possible to find the exact values of the input data and related parameters due to incomplete or unavailable information. This work aims at developing a model that solves a multi objective distribution programming problem involving imprecise available supply, forecast demand, budget and unit cost/ profit coefficients with triangular possibility distributions. This algorithm aims to simultaneously minimize cost and maximize profit with reference to available supply constraint at each source, forecast demand constraint at each destination and budget constraint. An example is given to demonstrate the functioning of this algorithm.

An objective Penalty Functions Algorithm for Multiobjective Optimization Problem

By using the penalty function method with objective parameters, the paper presents an interactive algorithm to solve the inequality constrained multi-objective programming (MP). The MP is transformed into a single objective optimal problem (SOOP) with inequality constrains;and it is proved that, under some conditions, an optimal solution to SOOP is a Pareto efficient solution to MP. Then, an interactive algorithm of MP is designed accordingly. Numerical examples show that the algorithm can find a satisfactory solution to MP with objective weight value adjusted by decision maker.

Given the complex clinical situations and the dynamic nature of nursing, the greatest challenge for nursing educators is performing objective evaluation of students’ clinical competence. The objective Structured Clinical Evaluation (OSCE) is designed to address this challenge and it has been widely used in nursing education. However, its implementation in nursing education in Taiwan has been limited. Accordingly, a quasi-experimental design was utilized to examine students’ clinical performance and stress levels using a 12-station OSCE assessment. Further, we investigated the inter-rater reliability and internal consistency of the OSCE. After controlling for scores of clinical performance, overall differences in pre- and post-practicum stress in the OSCE group were significantly higher than in the control group (F (1, 89) = 4.89, p = 0.03). There was no group effect on practicum performance after controlling for grade point average (F (1, 89) = 2.69, p = 0.14). Cronbach’s alpha for 12 OSCE stations ranged from 0.22 to 0.80 and inter-rater reliability for all 12 stations showed Pearson’s r ranging between 0.76 and 1.00. Cohen’s kappa ranged from 0.70 to 1.00

Adaptive Learning Rate Optimization BP Algorithm with Logarithmic objective Function

This paper presents an improved BP algorithm. The approach can reduce the amount of computation by using the logarithmic objective function. The learning rate μ(k) per iteration is determined by dynamic optimization method to accelerate the convergence rate. Since the determination of the learning rate in the proposed BP algorithm only uses the obtained first order derivatives in standard BP algorithm(SBP), the scale of computational and storage burden is like that of SBP algorithm,and the convergence rate is remarkably accelerated. Most of existed strategies for defending OFA (objective Function Attack)are centralized, only suitable for small-scale networks and stressed on the computation complexity and traffic load are usually neglected. In this paper, we pay more attentions on the OFA problem in large-scale cognitive networks, where the big data generated from the network must be considered and the traditional methods could be of helplessness. In this paper, we first analyze the interactive processes between attacker and defender in detail, and then a defense strategy for OFA based on differential game is proposed, abbreviated as DSDG. Secondly, the game saddle point and optimal defense strategy have proved to be existed simultaneously.
