It is challenging for antibacterial polymer scaffolds to achieve the drug sustained-release through directly coating or *** this work,halloysite nanotubes(HNTs),a natural aluminosilicate nanotube,were utilized as a nano container to load nano silver(Ag)into the lumen through vacuum negativepressure suction&injection and thermal decomposition of silver ***,the nano Ag loaded HNTs(HNTs@Ag)were introduced to poly-l-lactic acidide)(PLLA)scaffolds prepared by additive manufacturing for the sustained-release of Ag^+.Acting like a’shield’,the tube walls of HNTs not only retarded the erosion of external aqueous solution on internal nano Ag to generate Ag^+but also postponed the generated Ag^+to diffuse *** results indicated the PLLA-HNTs@Ag nanocomposite scaffolds achieved a sustained-release of Ag^+over 28 days without obvious initial burst ***,the scaffolds exhibited a long-lasting antibacterial property without compromising the ***,the degradation properties,biomineralization ability and mechanical properties of the scaffolds were *** study suggests the potential application of inorganic nanotubes as drug carrier for the sustained-release of functional polymer nanocomposite scaffolds.

Preparation and properties of chitosan-VC loaded nano-silver-doped natural latex

As one kind of the modern medical devices, various catheters are commonly used in interventional therapy, but they are prone to infection in the human body, which is a defect in clinical treatment. At present, the commonly used catheters are mostly treated with antibacterial coatings on the rubber catheters. However, there are some problems for their application, such as, easy peeling of the coating and poor durability of antibacterial *** order to solve the above problems, a kind of nano-silver antibacterial agent reduced and stabilized by Vitamin C modified chitosan was prepared, and then added into natural latex to produce an antibacterial latex with antibacterial properties from the inside to the outside. The chemical properties, mechanical properties and antibacterial properties of the samples were characterized, and the antibacterial mechanism of VC modified chitosan/nano silver was analyzed. The results showed that the antibacterial rates of the latex samples against E. coli and S. aureus reached 97.38% and 98.45%.

Decoration of activated carbon nanotubes by assembling nano-silver

A facile solution processed strategy of synthesizing nano silver assembled on carbon nanotubes （CNTs） at room temperature was put forward. Activated carbon nanotubes were used as precursors for preparing silver-decorated nanotubes. The nature of the decorated nanotubes was studied using transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDX）. The inert surfaces of carbon nanotubes were activated by introducing catalytic nuclei via an oxidation-sensitization-activation approach. Activated carbon nanotubes catalyzed the metal deposition specifically onto their surfaces upon immersion in electroless plating baths. The method produced nanotubes decorated with silver. The extent of silver decoration was found to be dependent on fabrication conditions. Dense nano silver assembled on nanotube surfaces could be obtained by keeping a low reaction rate in the solution phase. The results here show that this method is an efficient and simple means of achieving carbon nanotubes being assembled by nano metal.

With the advantages of the multiple oxidation states and highly open crystal structures,vanadium-based composites have been considered as the promising cathode materials for aqueous zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs).However,the inherent inferior electrical conductivity,low specific surface area,and sluggish Zn^(2+)diffusion kinetics of the traditional vanadium-based oxides have greatly impeded their ***,a novel hierarchical porous spindle-shaped Ag-V_(2)O_(5) with unique heterostructures was rationally designed via a simple MOF-assisted synthetic method and applied as stable cathode for aqueous *** high specific surface area and hierarchically porous superstructures endowed Ag-V_(2)O_(5) with sufficient electrochemical active sites and shortened the diffusion pathways of Zn^(2+),which was beneficial to accelerate the reversible transport of Zn^(2+)and deliver a high specific capacity(426 mA h g^(-1) at 0.1 A g^(-1) and 96.5%capacity retention after 100 cycles).Meanwhile,the self-built-in electric fields at the heterointerface of Ag-V_(2)O_(5) electrode could strengthen the synergistic coupling interaction between Ag and V_(2)O_(5),which can effectively enhance the electric conductivity and maintain the structural integrity,resulting in superb rate capability(326.1 mA h g^(-1) at 5.0 A g^(-1))and remarkable cycling stability(89.7%capacity retention after 2000 cycles at 5.0 A g^(-1)).Moreover,the reversible Zn^(2+)storage mechanism was further investigated and elucidated by kinetics analysis and DFT calculations.

Evaluation of Novel Chitosan Based Composites Coating on Wettability for Pure Titanium Implants

This work aims to prepare chitosan(CS)-based coated layers,CS(10 wt%nanosilver/90 wt%CS,10 wt%biotin/90 wt%CS,and 5 wt%nanosilver–5 wt%biotin)/90 wt%CS coatings are prepared,onto pure Ti *** surface morphology of the novel CS composite coating was studied using field emission scanning electron microscopy,atomic force microscopy(AFM),Fourier transforms infrared(FTIR)and wettability *** show that the addition of(biotin,nanosilver)5 Vol.%improves the properties of composite *** different particles’scale size aid in improving the combinations in the alginate,producing a dual effect on film *** surface roughness decreased in the chitosan-based biocomposite with preferable homogeneity and crack-free coating layers,as confirmed by *** increase in surface roughness ensured substitution,which enhanced the surface *** high wettability of the CS-based coating layers was due to the presence of nanoparticles,and the composite coatings with CS,nanosilver,or biotin had excellent wettability because of the good hydrophilic nature of the CS matrix combined with reinforced *** FTIR results showed that peaks of the blending of CS plus nanoparticles,CS plus biotin,or CS plus nanosilver plus biotin were excellent matching with no changes in the structure of the matrix.

Although nanotechnology has been rapidly developed and applied in tumor targeting, the outcome of chemotherapy remains greatly restricted by the toxicity of cytotoxic drugs in normal tissues and cells. Therefore, the development of alternative delivery systems, with few side effects in normal cells, has attracted increasing attention. Energy restriction is a novel and promising approach to cancer treatment, which can restrict tumor growth via inhibition of cellular energy metabolism. In this study, a novel tumor targeting system, based on folate-conjugated bovine serum albumin （BSA）, was developed to co-deliver albendazole and nanosilver simultaneously, to restrain the energy metabolism of tumor cells. This nanosystem showed stronger anti-tumor efficacy than those using nanoparticles without folic acid modification, nanosilver, or albendazole, both in vitro and in vivo. This nanosystem depleted cellular ATP via direct inhibition of glycolytic enzymes and mitochondrial damage, resulting in inhibition of proliferation, cell-cycle arrest, and apoptosis of tumor cells. The enhanced anti-tumor activity contributed to the tumor-targeting ability of this system, resulting in specific energy inhibition in tumor cells. Toxicity evaluation was performed to confirm the safety of this system. This nanosystem provides an efficient and safe strate~ for tumor therapy.

The chitosan composite coatings modified by Ag/ZnO nanospheres were prepared, and their preservation properties on the hairtail balls were measured, the antibacterial properties on Shewanella putrefaciens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were evaluated. The results show that the defect structures of composite coatings are decreased, and the mechanical properties and permeabilities are improved by adding Ag/ZnO nanospheres. And the physicochemical properties of Ag/ZnO chitosan composite coatings are the optimal. The preservation properties of Ag/ZnO chitosan composite coatings are significant better than ZnO chitosan composite coatings, and the preservation effect of 0.5% of Ag/ZnO chitosan composite coatings is the optimal. Ag/ZnO chitosan composite coatings can effectively inhibit growth and reproduction of target bacteria, change the synthesis and protein expression, and damage the bacterial membrane, further change the permeability of bacterial membrane.
