Objective:The study is to analyze the influence of parent-child relationship on pupils’learning motivation,and to explore the mediating mechanism of teacher-student relationship in parent-child relationship and learning motivation.Method:This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 213 pupils in Grades 5 and 6 in two schools in Beijing using Pianta’s teacher-student relationship scale revised by Qu,Dornbush’s parent-child intimacy scale revised by Zhang and the learning motivation scale adapted by Hu.Results:Gender,grade,whether they are the only child and to be a class cadre or not show significant differences in some dimensions of parent-child relationship,teacher-student relationship and learning motivation.The total scores of parent-child relationship,teacher-student relationship and learning motivation are positively correlated,and some sub dimensions are also significantly correlated.Parent-child relationship and teacher-student relationship have a significant positive predictive effect on learning motivation,and parent-child relationship has a significant positive predictive effect on teacher-student relationship.Teacher-student relationship plays a mediating role in the influence of parent-child relationship on learning motivation.Conclusions:Parent-child relationship can promote the relationship between teachers and students,and then enhance pupils’learning motivation.

The rapid development of China in various aspects has frequented its exchanges with other countries.English,one of the most popular language in the world,has become an important means of communication with others.However,the huge difference existing in Mandarin and English holds back Chinese leaners for further progress and even gives them a good reason to keep distance.Moreover,although English is a second language for most Chinese,the lack of language environment along with the imbalance of teaching resources have been problematic in the overall English level for Chinese English learners.Nevertheless,the study of any kind of skills including a language depends on how motivated learners can be outside of classrooms,which determines the actual English level in a real sense.Being able to maintain studying motivation derives from a good command in learner psychology.The article analyzes studying motivation from the angle of psychology,aiming to discuss ways of improving English teaching and learning.

As the intrinsic driving force to promote learner’s learning,learning motivation is one of the key factors that affect learning engagement and efficiency.In terms of optimizing instructional videos and strengthening learning effects,it is particularly important to understand the cognitive neural mechanism and influencing factors of the changes of learning motivation.By using the near-infrared spectrometer technology,the paper has collected the state of neural activity while learners were learning different instructional videos,and has analyzed the relationship between the learning motivation of instructional videos and the state of neural activity in the learning process from the angle of cognitive neuroscience.It is found that both the intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation of instructional videos will affect the state of neural activity in the learning process;the learning process will also affect the intensity of learning motivation,while the preparation of fine instructional videos will also cause the transfer of learning motivation.

This study explores the effects of two affective factors,reading anxiety and learning motivation on incidental vocabulary acquisition(IVA)under Chinese context.Fifty-two sophomores form a comprehensive university in southern China were enrolled in this study;data were collected through questionnaires,IVA test,and semi-structured interviews.This study identified the signifi⁃cant relationship between IVA and learning motivation but reading anxiety was non-significant.The findings contributed empirical evidence to the effects of affective factors on Chinese students’incidental vocabulary acquisition.

This study investigates the positive and negative effects of online teaching on EFL students’learning motivation.There are 26 English majors in a Chinese university participant in this study.Data were collected from multiple sources:semi-structured interview and direct observation.The result shows that in the course aspect,it has a positive effect.In the teacher aspect,it has both negative and positive effects.But in the learning group aspect,it has a negative effect,because of losing of students’interaction.

Research on the Relationship between English Majors' learning motivation and Spoken English in Chinese Context

Background: Communication is an essential element in nursing practice. Patients expressed low satisfaction at communication with nurses. Nursing students feel pressured on communication with patients and are not properly prepared to effectively communicate with the patients. Even newly graduated nurses also present communication with patients as the most difficult job in nursing practice. Hence communication skills should be learned and well trained throughout the college education in order to utilize the skills properly in clinical practice. Peer-evaluation in learning has been identified as an effective method in diverse populations of students from elementary students to adults. In addition, it has been demonstrated that peer-evaluation was useful to understand communication problems with patients in a sample of medical doctors. Peer-evaluation can improve learning motivation as well as communication skills of students. Among the visual audio devices, a video is the fastest method to facilitate comprehensive memory that leads to transmit learning. It has also been known as an effective method to develop a rapport with a patient and improve communication skills of health care practitioners. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effects of video based peer-evaluation on communication skills and learning motivation in nursing students. Methods: A non-equivalent control with pre-posttest design was used. The participants were 47 sophomore nursing students who enrolled in a course of fundamental nursing at a nursing college in South Korea in the Fall semester of 2008. Their grade point averages（GPA） were used to assign them to one of the groups;those with even numbers of GPA ranks were assigned to the intervention group and odd numbers to the control group. The intervention group had 24 students and the control group with 23 students. With the increasing importance attached to spoken English, it is of great significance to find how the motivation of English majors affects their oral English learning outcomes. Based on the research results and theoretical frameworks of the previous studies on this area, this paper carries out research in Zhujiang College of South China Agricultural University trying to find out the types of motivation and the correlation between motivation factors of English majors and their spoken English, and thus to guide spoken English learning and teaching.

learning motivation is regarded as the critical fact of affecting the learners’learning.This article focuses on the local normal colleges,which offer the abundant resource of teachers;guarantee the education rights of students’.This article is based on the related literature and the statistics offered by questionnaires and surveys.The participants were 80 Englisheducation majors from a local normal university in Beijing and the surveys choose randomly 6 of them to get the answer.Through these two ways,we’ve found that the main motivation type for English-education majors is instrumental motivation.Family background,society and teaching model may lead to this phenomenon.The findings suggest that teachers should guide students to utilize their learnt knowledge into use and opening a book saloon to increase their interest and understanding of teaching might be a good way to improve students’integrative motivation.

Teacher talk is the language which teachers use to organize and manage the EFL classrooms and implement their teaching plans. It is the most important source of student’s input and the primary teachers’ behavior. motivation is a kind of affective factor that has great effect on learners’ English learning. Many researchers have researched the teacher talk and learning motivation, but the research of correlation between teacher talk and students’ learning motivation was rare. Through analyzing the correlation between teacher talk and students’ learning motivation in senior high school English classroom, the thesis ultimate aim is to find out the appropriate teacher talk to improve students’ motivation. According to the results of the study, it is suggested that teachers should realize the importance of using teacher talk appropriately in English classrooms and provide learners more opportunities to produce more output, train students to manage their own learning effectively and create a relaxing atmosphere for students’ foreign language learning.
