Synthesis and thermosensitive behavior of dextran graft copolymers containing poly(N-vinylcaprolactam)side chains

New graft copolymers were synthesized by graft-ing N-vinylcaprolactam onto *** composition and structure were investigated by elemental analyses,infrared spectra and thermogravimetric *** optical transmit-tance measurements,it was found that the aqueous solutions of these graft copolymers showed a temperature-dependent transmittance change due to the introduction of thermosensi-tive poly(N-vinylcaprolactam)graft ***,the lower critical solution temperature(LCST)of the graft copolymer in aqueous solution was dependent on its grafting extent and *** LCST value was found to increase with the increase of the grafting extent and decrease with the increase of the copolymer *** these stimuli-response properties,such polysaccharide derivative may hold potential applications in biomedicine and biotechnology.

Multi-responsive hydrogels,or‘intelligent’hydrogels that respond to more than one environmental stimulus,have demonstrated great utility as a regenerative biomaterial in recent *** are structured biocompatible materials that provide specific and distinct responses to varied physiological or externally applied *** evidenced by a burgeoning number of investigators,multi-responsive hydrogels are endowed with tunable,controllable and even biomimetic behavior well-suited for drug delivery and tissue engineering or regenerative growth *** article encompasses recent developments and challenges regarding supramolecular,layer-by-layer assembled and covalently cross-linked multi-responsive hydrogel networks and their application to drug delivery and tissue engineering.
