An inclusion complex of podophyllotoxin （PPT） with 7-cyclodextrin （7-CD） was prepared. The behavior, char- acterization, and water solubility of the inclusion complex were carefully investigated via fluorescence spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction analysis, and 1H and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Furthermore, antitumor activity to human cancer lines and toxicity in mice were studied. Results showed that the inclusion complex formed in a 1 ： 1 ratio with a considerable apparent stability constant Ks （4245.5 Lomol-l）. Water solubility was considerably improved. In addition, the anticancer activity of the inclusion complex was better than that of cis-platinum （DDP, positive control）. Most importantly, the toxicity of podophyl- lotoxin inclusion complex reduced and became more safety to mice which will be great valuable to research its ap- plications as a kind of antitumor drug to human in the further.

Introduction Paclitaxel （as Taxol） is a kind of diterpenoid natural product extracted from Chinese yew. It has been reported to have high anti-tumor effects, such as the activity against oophorama, mammary cancer, encephaloma, cervical carcinoma, and non- small-cell lung carcinoma. One of the major problems of paclitaxel applied to therapy is its extremely low solubility in water. In addition, paclitaxel is administered as a slow infusion in a vehicle consisting of Cremophor EL （ polyoxyethylated castor oil ）. However, Cremophor has been observed to cause severe, occasionally fatal hypersensitivity reactions in animals and humans. Therefore, paclitaxel therapy includes a prophylactic regimen of antihistamines and corticosteroids , along with a prolonged infusion time to reduce the severity and incidence of hypersensitivity reactions. Because of the reasons mentioned above, currently its preparation needs to be improved further.

Meloxicam-β-cyclodextrin （ME-β-CD） inclusion complex was prepared by a fluid-bed coating technique upon solvent removal and simultaneous depositing onto the surface of nonpareil pellets and using PVP K30 as a binding agent to facilitate good coating. The resultant pellets were spherical and intact in shape with good flowability and friability. SEM analysis showed that the pellets were smooth and had a tightly coated inclusion complex layer. In vitro dissolution of the inclusion complex pellets in pH 7.4 phosphate buffer was dramatically enhanced at an ME/CD ratio of 1/1. DSC and powder X-ray diffractometry proved the absence of crystallinity in the ME/CD inclusion complexes. Moreover, Fourier transform-infrared spectrometry together with Raman spectrometry indicated that the thiazole ring of ME was possibly included in the cavity of β-CD.

We successfully use a co-precipitation method to prepare inclusion complex between poly（butylene adipate）（PBA） chains （guest component） and urea molecules （host component）. The PBA/urea inclusion complex is confirmed to adopt a hexagonal crystal modification with lattice parameters ofa = 8.14 A and c = 10.92 A, and the interaction between PBA chains and urea is van der Waals force. The singly isolated PBA chains are suggested to take some gauche conformation, which is different from the all-trans conformation in r-form PBA. Furthermore, we employ the isolated PBA chains which are uniformly pre-established in a specific conformation in urea channels to regulate the crystal form of PBA for the first time. After removing the host urea molecules, the coalesced PBA chains are found to solely crystallize into a-form crystals at different coalescing temperatures. By comparing the FTIR spectra, it is found that PBA chains in inclusion complex plausibly contain some similar conformers as those in a-form crystal, which is suggested to be the intrinsic reason for the sole formation of a-form crystals. This research proves that inclusion complex can be used as a very effective method to regulate polymorphism of semi-crystalline polymers.

A supramolecular inclusion complex between β-cyclodextrin（β-CD） and α-naphthylacetic acid was prepared, and its crystal structure was investigated by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The complex contains two β-CD molecules, one α-naphthylacetic acid, two ethanols and twenty-eight water molecules in the asymmetric unit, which could be formulated as [（C42H70O35）2·（C12H10O2）·（C2H5OH）2·28H2O]. Two β-CD molecules constitute a dimer by face-to-face contact of their secondary hydroxyl sides. At the interface of the dimer, one α-naphthylacetic acid molecule is sandwiched between two β-CD molecules. Each β-CD unit of the dimer includes one ethanol molecule in its cavity. The β-CD dimers are linked together via hydrogen bonding to form layers that are stacked in a brickwork-like pattern. The comparative study of some sandwich complexes elucidates that the interface of the β-CD dimer has a stronger inclusion capacity than the cavity of β-CD for some suitable planar guest molecules. The novel inclusion structure results from the competitive inclusion of α-naphthylacetic acid and ethanol.

Quantum chemical calculations were carried out to investigate the structures and properties for the inclusion complexes of nitrobenzene （NB） into β-cyclodextrin. Two low-energy conformations of β-cyclodextrin （A and B） in the gas phase were initially investigated by the PM3 and B3LYP/6-31＋G（d,p） calculations, respectively. Three different orientations were considered in the inclusion process of A and B with NB to form 1：1 complexes. Potential energy scan by PM3 calculations indicated that the phenyl orientation Ab for conformation A and the equator orientation Bc for conformation B are more favorable in energy, respectively. We also considered the 2：1 inclusion complexes of host A or B with guest NB in the gas phase. PM3 calculation indicated that the host-guest interaction energies to form 1：1 complexes are more negative than those to form 2：1 NB/B complexes. Finally, we studied the solvent effect of NB/CD complex, and PM3 results show that the influence of water molecules on the inclusion process is very important. The driving forces for the inclusion process and the geometries of complexes were discussed in detail.

Post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)is a psychiatric disease that seriously affects brain ***,selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors(SSRIs)are used to treat PTSD clinically but have decreased efficiency and increased side *** this study,nasal cannabidiol inclusion complex temperature-sensitive hydrogels(CBD TSGs)were prepared and evaluated to treat *** model of PTSD was established with conditional fear *** TSGs could significantly improve the spontaneous behavior,exploratory spirit and alleviate tension in open field box,relieve anxiety and tension in elevated plus maze,and reduce the freezing *** and eosin and c-FOS immunohistochemistry slides showed that the main injured brain areas in PTSD were the prefrontal cortex,amygdala,and hippocampus *** TSGs could reduce the level of tumor necrosis factor-a caused by *** blot analysis showed that CBD TSGs increased the expression of the 5-HT1 A *** administration of CBD TSGs was more efficient and had more obvious brain targeting effects than oral administration,as evidenced by the pharmacokinetics and brain tissue distribution of CBD ***,nasal CBD TSGs are safe and effective and have controlled *** are a novel promising option for the clinical treatment of PTSD.
