Polarized-light photodetectors are the indispensable elements for practical optical and optoelectronic device ***-dimensional(2D)hybrid perovskite ferroelectrics,in which the coupling of spontaneous polarization(P_(s))and light favors the dissociation of photo-induced carriers,have taken a booming position within this ***,polarized-light photodetectors with a low detectionlimit remain unexplored in this 2D ferroelectric *** this work,the high-quality individual crystals of a 2D perovskite ferroelectric,BA_(2)CsPb_(2)Br_(7)(1,where BA^(+)is n-butylammonium),were used to fabricate ultrasensitive polarized-light *** unique bilayered structural motif results in quite strong electric and optical anisotropy with a large absorption ratio of a_(c)/α_(a)≈3.2(λ=405 nm).Besides,the presence of ferroelectric Psalso endows high built-in electric field along the polar c-axis that favors photoelectric *** an extremely low detectable limit of 40 n W/cm^(2),the detector of 1 exhibits a notable dichroism ratio(I_(ph)^(c)/I_(ph)^(a)≈1.5),a large responsivity of~39.5 m A/W and a specific detectivity of~1.2×10^(12)***,crystal-based devices of 1 also exhibit a fast response speed(~300μs)and excellent anti-fatigue *** work highlights great potentials of hybrid perovskite ferroelectrics toward polarized-light photodetection.

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites(OIHPs)materials with high phase transition temperature(T_(p))have been widely studied in the field of molecular switches,solar energy and electric *** present,the OIHPs with high T_(p)are generally constructed through molecular design,which can be applied to a wide temperature ***,three one-dimensional(1D)OIHPs[R-Cl EQ]PbCl_(3)(T_(p)=442 K),[R-Cl EQ]PbBr_(3)(T_(p)=499 K)and[R-Cl EQ]PbI_(3)(T_(p)above m.p.)(R-Cl EQ=(R)-N-chloroethyl-3-quinuclidinol)with different T_(p)are obtained by regulating the halogen-halogen interaction and hydrogen bonding in the *** in[R-Cl EQ]Pb X_(3)(X=Cl,Br and I)crystal system,all the halogen bonds tend to form at approximately 180°angles and the strength of halogen bonding is found to be increased from 1.59×10^(-3)Hartree to 2.35×10^(-3)Hartree with increased atom number from Cl to *** synergistic effect of halogen bonding and hydrogen bonding provide a useful strategy for the design OIHPs phase transition materials with high T_(p).

Broadband white-light emission in metal halides has been intensely explored because of their facile solution processability,structural adjustability,and high color rendering ***,the most reported quantum yields for white-light emission remain low despite great ***,we report a metal-halide layered perovskite,(HOOC_(4)H_(9)NH_(3))_(2)PbBr_(4),showing the typical white-light emission with a highly enhan ced quantumyield up to 21.2% compared to previously reported noncarboxyl layered hybrid perovskites(0.5-9%).Notably,mechanistic studies reveal that the distinctive carboxylic acid dimers largely increase the structure rigidity and in consequence reduce the nonradiative recombination induced by stretching *** the best of our knowledge,this strategy is important in hybrid perovskites,which is effective and propagable to acquire prominent *** work will shed light on the design of highly emissive white-light materials involving intense intermolecular interaction and promote their potential in displaying application.

The hybrid perovskites have generated a great deal of interest due to their potential in photovoltaic ***,due to the toxicity of lead,there is interest in finding a non-toxic substitute for the lead in the *** single crystals of both cubic CHNHSnI and CH(NH)SnI were obtained in an ambient atmosphere with the top seeded solution growth(TSSG) method for the first *** refinement,band gap,thermal properties and XPS measurements of CHNHSnI and CH(NH)SnI single crystals are also reported in *** results should pave the way for further applications of CHNHSnI and CH(NH)SnI.

Organic–inorganic hybrid perovskites(OIHPs)have been a hot research topic due to their advanced structural and functional features that cover almost all the research fields of intelligent materials including ferroelectric,photovoltaic,fluorescent,and ***,the development of the construction of an OIHP ferroelastic semiconductor with optical-electrical response has been a huge challenge and infrequently *** this work,a rare and interesting hybrid perovskite ferroelastic semiconductor,[BFDA]PbBr_(3)(BFDA=benzyl-(2-fluoro-ethyl)-dimethyl-ammonium),was synthesized,which benefits from the structural advantage of a long tail BFDA to be balanced by the suitable inorganic framework.[BFDA]PbBr_(3) shows a high-temperature ferroelastic phase transition at 365 K and a direct band gap of 3.33 *** addition,it can emit charming orange-pink light under a 365 nm UV *** combine this with the ferroelastic,optical,and dielectric properties,[BFDA]PbBr_(3) can be identified as a very rarely reported ferroelastic *** above-mentioned synthesis strategy is also helpful for the enrichment and development of the hybrid perovskite family.

Polarization-sensitive photodetection is central to optics applications and has been successfully demonstrated in photodetectors of two-dimensional(2D) materials, such as layered hybrid perovskites;however, achieving high polarization sensitivity in such a photodetector remains extremely ***, for the first time, we demonstrate a high-performance polarization-sensitive photodetector using single-crystalline 2D/3D perovskite heterostructure, namely,(4-AMP)(MA)2Pb3Br10/MAPbBr3(MA = methylammonium; 4-AMP = 4-(aminomethyl)piperidinium), which exhibits ultrahigh polarization sensitivity up to 17.6 under self-driven mode. To our knowledge, such a high polarization selectivity has surpassed all of the reported perovskite-based devices, and is comparable to, or even better than, the traditional inorganic heterostructure-based photodetectors. Further studies reveal that the built-in electric field formed at the junction can spatially separate the photogenerated electrons and holes, reducing their recombination rate and thus enhancing the performance for polarization-sensitive *** work provides a new source of polarization-sensitive materials and insights into designing novel optoelectronic devices.

High-performance photodetectors based on two-dimensional perovskite crystals with alternating interlayer cations

Organic-inorganic halide perovskite,as a low-cost,solution-processable material with remarkable optoelectronic properties,is ideal candidate to fabricate high-performance photodetectors and is expected to significantly reduce device *** to the common Dion-Jacobson and Ruddlesden-Popper two-dimensional(2D)layered hybrid perovskite compounds,the perovskites with alternating cations in the interlayer(ACI)phase show higher crystal symmetry and narrower optical bandgaps,which exhibit great potential for excellent photodetection ***,we report a high-performance photodetector based on the 2D bilayered hybrid lead halide perovskite single crystal with the ACI phase(GAMA_(2)Pb_(2)I_(7);GA=C(NH_(2))_(3)and MA=CH_(3)NH_(3)).The single-crystal photodetector exhibits high photoresponsivity of 1.56,2.54,and 2.60 A/W for incident light wavelengths of 405,532,and 635 nm under 9.82 nW,respectively,together with the correspondingly high detectivity values of 1.86×10^(12),3.04×10^(12),and 3.11×10^(12)Jones under the same operating ***,a high-resolution imaging sensor is built based on the GAMA_(2)Pb_(2)I_(7)single-crystal photodetector,confirming the high stability and photosensitivity of the imaging *** results show that the 2D hybrid lead halide perovskites with alternating interlayer cations are promising for high-performance visible light photodetectors and imaging systems.

This review discusses various parameters that influence and control the organo-metal halide perovskite crystallization process. The effect of the perovskite morphology on the photovoltaic performance is a critical factor. Moreover, it has a dramatic effect on the stability of the perovskite, which has significant importance for later use of the organo-metal perovskite in assorted applications. In this review, we brought together several research investigations that describe the main parameters that significantly influence perovskite crystallization, for example, the annealing process, the precursor solvent, anti-solvent treatment, and additives to the iteite solutions.

Ferroelectric materials have become key components for versatile device applications,and their thin films are highly desirable for integrating the miniaturized *** substantial endeavors,it is still challenging to achieve effective chemiresistive sensing in the ferroelectric ***,for the first time,we have exploited ferroelectric thin films of 2D hybrid perovskite BA_(2)EA_(2)Pb_(3)I_(10)(1),to fabricate the high-performance chemiresistor gas *** spin-coated films of 1 exhibit high orientation and good crystallinity,thus preserving robust in-plane spontaneous polarization(P_(s)~2.0μC/cm^(2))and low electric ***,such ferroelectric filmbased sensors after electric poling enable the dramatic room-temperature sensing responses to NO_(2) gas,including high sensitivity(0.05 ppm^(-1)),extremely low detection limit(1 ppm)and fast responding rate(~6 s).Besides,the chemiresistive responses are remarkably enhanced by threefold(up to 320%)through electric *** is proposed that this behavior closely involves with strong in-plane ferroelectric polarization of 1 that generates a built-in electric field inhibiting the recombination of charge *** far as we know,this ferroelectric-based film chemiresisor is one of the best room-temperature sensors for NO_(2) gas among all the existing candidate *** findings highlight great potential of ferroelectrics toward effective chemiresistive performances,and also establish a bright direction to explore their future device applications.

Molecular ferroele ctrics have gradually aroused great interest in both fundamental scientific research and te chnological applications because of their easy processing,light weight and mechanical *** organic-inorganic perovskite ferroelectrics(HOIPFs),as a class of molecule-based ferroelectrics,have diverse functionalities owing to their unique structure and have become a hot spot in molecular ferroelectrics ***,they are extremely attractive in the field of ***,there seems to be a lack of systematic review of their design,performance and potential ***,we review the recent development of HOIPFs from lead-base d,lead-free and metal-free perovskites,and outline the vers atility of these ferroelectrics,including piezoelectricity for mechanical energy-harvesting and optoelectronic properties for photovoltaics and light ***,a perspective view of the challenges and future directions of HOIPFs is also highlighted.
